  • Too Busy

Life is simply too busy lately.  We have to be out of our apartment by the 31st, so we have been frantically packing boxes for the past couple of days.  Since we have no place to make our home yet it feels a bit as though we are simply packing up our lives and they are disappearing.  That combined with our state of limbo over where we will be next has all been rather exhausting.  You see, with the economy slumping as it has, Ryan's line of work has more or less crashed, so we are no longer moving to Spokane because there just isn't enough work.  He is now exploring new career options.  However, regardless of our state of busy-ness and our stress levels, I thought it was past time for some updated pictures of our little darling.

    One Month!

The older I become and the more of life I experience, the more convinced I am that time is a relative concept.  Having Mercy has certainly done funny things to my perception of time.  On the one hand, it feels as though we have always had her, and on the other, I can't believe that she has been a tangible part of our lives for a full month now.  It took awhile to get it up, but you can now see a video of Mercy's homecoming in the post prior to this.  I look terrible, but I am learning that no one looks beautiful after giving birth!

Having a baby is much like getting married.  Before it happens to you you are told that it is hard--and it is.  However, that doesn't mean that it isn't worth it.  On the contrary.  Though being married and embarking upon parenthood do require lots of work, the blessings that are reaped from them outweigh the difficulties exponentially.

So, today we thank the Lord for the month we have had with our beautiful baby girl, and look forward to many more days, weeks, months, and years to come!

    Mercy's First Bath

It is recommended that you wait two weeks to give your newborn her first bath.  Therefore, since today Mercy is two weeks old, I broke out the baby bathtub and proceeded to clean her up.  She wasn't thrilled with the process, but came out alright in the end!

About Me

  • I am happily married as of July 28, 2007 and very much enjoying the new role of being a wife. Though most of my time is spent as a help-meet, I also teach a few piano students and direct the girl's choir at our church. In early October we learned that we are going to be parents in June, and are eagerly anticipating the task of raising our little one. The working out of a covenant, Christian marriage has proved delightful, and I am thrilled to be adding motherhood to the equation.
