  • Okay... I'm back in the States and I miss everyone from Taiwan like mad crazy.  I miss coworkers at NDL... the other interns I worked with... in fact... the other hundred-eighty-some-odd other interns in the program... my cousins, my relatives and just everyone that I had a great time with there.  It's hard not being back in San Diego with my computer on all day just so I can catch all the people in their various time zones.

I'd say that home is great... except that I was only there for about two days before I headed out to Missouri to drop Kate off at school.  *sigh*  I'm going to miss her a ton.  I hope things work out here for her.  It just seems like such a long way off... and it is weird having grown up in California where you never feel like a minority and coming out to a place where you definitely stand out like a sore thumb.

I'm also feeling bummed out since I missed out on seeing so many of my best friends by just a day or two.  Everyone's going off to college far away... and now I'm beginning to feel like maybe I should continue my education and get a masters or something... except there's really no subject as of right now that I'm all that interested in.  Oh wellz...  I've still got another year to figure out what the heck I'm doing... and hopefully by then, I'll know.

  • I pray for wisdom in understanding what I do not know.

Anyways... I had a fairly decent weekend.  I went to Taizhong and Changhua with two of my coworkers and one of their classmates.  Hehe... I always thought the point of road trips was to see the sights and do random activities.  However... I have since discovered that the point of almost anything in Taiwan seems to be food.  Hehe... I ate until I felt like I was going to burst... and then ate some more.  Literally every stop we made was for food.  But man... it sure was yummy.  So I basically ate from 11 in the morning til midnight... and got to see parts of Taiwan I have never seen before... although I will always associate them with food now.  *Grins*

I can't believe my weeks here are just flying by... I still feel like I barely got here and yet my time here is more than halfway over.  I'm going to miss the people I've met here in Taiwan...although I can't wait to see the people from back home again.

  • Yay!!  I'm finally getting into the my internship and getting to know all these people that I'm working with.  That makes me happy.

Anyways... I'm missing people back at home and wishing I could hang out.

  • Had a great weekend just hanging out with my cousins.  It's such a change of pace from my own family which is usually soo hectic.  They took me around to see random sites in Taipei and we even took a mini-boat ride around a bay which totally thrilled my five-year old cousin.  It's fun seeing how happy he can get!

Anyways... I noticed last Friday that I'm the only girl in the lab I'm working in.  I can't believe it took me soo long to notice.  What can you say?  I'm in EE... I don't know why I keep expecting there to be more girls.  The guys in the lab are cool, but it's kinda funny how un-Chinese they expect me to be.  Heehee... one guy asked me if I could even use chopsticks or speak Chinese despite the fact that that's what I've been speaking to them.
