Finals!

The jury is still out, but I'm inclined to think that studying for finals is way overrated. Or maybe it just is impractical. I have a mere 5 tests (2 cumulative), 3 papers (over 20 pages total) and 1 speech to make. So, time for studying doesn't quite fit in.  Oh, did I mention the MCAT too?

Anyway, the way I figure, I can not study and get most of the test right; or I can study really hard for 6 hours and get an extra 4 right but confuse myself about something I already knew...

That's the theory. In practice, I still study hard starting the week before. Good thing it's not on my own strength and intellect alone that I make it through each semester!

Things that go bump in the night

Monsters, elephants, sisters....

So,two of my sisters swear that there was a loud explosion in their room that woke both of them up, and no one in the rest of the house heard it. Now, were they doing some kind of mutual telepathy? or was there really a government conspiracy to brainwash the rest of us???

He is Risen!

The Son rose radiantly bright early this morning. The snow has all melted and Death has given up in utter defeat once again. We have no more need to fear - Christous Anestie, Alithous Anestie!

Well, that's what I was hoping to post this morning. Unfortunately, it's not entirely true. Winter still has us in it's grip. Actually, that completes the analogy even more perfectly since Christ's ressuretion was not an automatic fix to all ills. Now we have hope, though. No we are no longer of all men most wretched but of all men most to be envied.

Black Friday

In the depth of winter the days are at their shortest and death holds the world in its grasp. The Word was made flesh and was born. When things looked as bleak as possible, in the middle of darkness, the Incarnation brought hope and light.

In the middle of Spring, life is triumphant. New things are growing, and out of the dead comes the living. Then, death rears his ugly head. Winter roars back to blight the earth. The Son of God is seized and dragged away by evil’s minions. He is condemned to die by his own handiwork. The ultimate rebellion is occurring once again: creature against Creator.

It’s the first week of April but the temperature is no longer 70 but 30. An inch of snow is falling. The sun is eclipsed by clouds but the Son has been raised up to give light to the whole world. Any minute now and the ground will begin to shake. Satan is making one last attempt to destroy the incarnation. Death tried to sieze the newborn, now it seems to triumph over the God-man.

It’s Black Friday and the King of Creation is crucified. Christ’s life seems pointless and all his followers have given up. There’s nothing left but to sit by His tomb and mourn…

Important news bits

I'm on spring break!  And, thanks to everyone's BD wishes, I did get plenty of snow! after a week of rain, it started snowing this morning.

In other news, the price of tea in England seems to be up by about 40p in some places. However, milk prices have gone down causing an little overall change in cost to brewed beverage consumers.
