| | another long weekend boarding trip w/ the family, and i finally learned how to carve!!! well, at least on the bunny slopes. doing it on the blue runs are a completely different story. anyway, we went up to whistler where it was just gorgeous. you seriously don't remember how beautiful it is up there, or at least i didn't. probably b/c the previous two times i went were always during the off-season--either really too early or too late in the snow season so that its all man-made snow on the runs but otherwise brown dried up dirt.
anyway, we had loads of fun, and it all started w/ a huge a-list sighting.
that's right, it's WILL SMITH. He was there staying at our hotel w/ his wife and another couple. with my normal snooping, i found out that he neither boarded nor skiied. no idea what he was doing there then, but i later saw him working out at the gym. kinda surreal seeing him working out b/c he is very well-known for his ripped body. anyway, i only saw him in his wifebeater jumping rope, so no biggie. but i think i recall him doing some of that in "I Am Legend" or is my memory faulty? anyway, he was really cool and exactly how you'd imagine he'd be. it's funny that, i've actually seen him a couple of times already throughout my travels. first in Venice on my first trip to Europe, then a couple of times in Vegas. I guess we're fated to be bumping into each other, but this is the first time i've had the guts to ask for a picture and talk to him. i, of course, only asked if he was boarding, and he said something like, "heck no! not today." no idea why he's so against boarding. probably b/c he's afraid to get hurt?
anyway, back to our family vacay...
and then the beginner boarders:
me trying to keep up with the boys on the blue runs on the second day after thinking that i've mastered carving. haha...yeah rite. i just reverted back to my old habits.
but look at how high up we are. the trees even got buried in the snow! i so have to go boarding again soon, but i doubt i'll get to go again until the next season. gotta buckle down and start working at the new job soon w/ no vacay days :( next week's trip to NYC shall be my last in a very long while.
