  • This is the end of the camp pictures!

Queena brought along her painting supplies.  Different times throughout the weekend we would find Misty out on the deck just a painting away.

Marks brother Nelson and Rose live about an hour from the camp so we invited them to join us for Sunday afternoon.

We also enjoyed the game of "Bang".  A new card game that Ethan brought along.  It seemed a game was being played all the time.

Shad could hold his own in this game.

Jessica and Israel put on a wonderful campfire supper on Sat. evening.

Mark had Grants help in getting the fire started.

The onion rings were a big hit!

The time has come to end this time at camp.  We did leave our deposit in to reserve the same weekend for next year.

  • Wanna see more camp pictures?

    Crawlfish9.JPG

"Look at what my daddy helped catch."

    Crawlfish2.JPG

One of the afternoons the guys floated down the river on tubes.  When they came back this is what they brought with them.  They had to use their shirts as nets to snag a snack.

    Crawlfish1.JPG

Jeremy wasn't even afraid of picking them up.

    Crawlfish4.JPG

Looks a little mean to me.

    Crawlfish5.JPG

Summer is checking it all out.  Not sure what she is thinking.

    Crawlfish7.JPG

Israel giving her a taste.  I was so busy taking pictures that I didn't even sample one.
    That's a shrimp laying there.

    Crawlfish8.JPG

Looks like baby lobsters to me!

    Crawlfish6.JPG

Saturday evening late we had a "Mini Baby Shower" for Queena and Ethan.  Their baby is due 08-07-08.  I'm praying it will come one day late.

"These pampers are so little!  Can a baby be this tiny?"

    camp fire12.JPG

I was finally able to give Grant his puff comfort.  I think he likes it by the look on his face.

  • This past weekend  Mark and I rented a cozy cabin in the hills of Northern Pa. and were joined by my favorite people.

Our children, their spouses and our grandchildren!
    Resized for sending in mail.jpg

The cabin was cozy with plenty of room for us all.  There were three floors, eleven bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen (tableware, pots and pans) dishwasher.

    ice cream shop10.JPG

There was a nice lighted pavillian, fire ring, and a large field for games.

    ice cream shop12.JPG

It didn't take Jeremy long to see that the mounted deer heads needed to be straightened and cleaned with a wet rag.  That boy keeps me a praying.  He just doesn't seem to be afraid of height.

Jessica with the babies.  Her hands are full but it warms my heart to see the joy she has in being a busy mother.

    Summer loved the swings.

Max thought they looked like fun and was ready to try them out.

Max is thinking..."I'm doing pretty good don't you think?"

    Ethan manning the tubes!

    Fun on the river11.JPG

Coming back from the river our little trail led us thru some pine trees.

The two days we were there were so hot!  Two things that feel good when you are hot is "Water" and
    "Ice-Cream"

John Hartley treated the whole gang!

  • My son Jeremy!

    Rope Swing11.JPG

What can I say?  I've been after Jeremy for some time now to hang a rope swing for our grandchildren.  I'm thinking maybe a good 20 feet in the air.

This morning his truck was in the shop so he took the opportunity to hang my swing.
    Rope Swing1.JPG

I had no idea he needed all this stuff!
I'm thinking 20 feet but he's got other ideas.

Jeremy getting his throw lines ready.
    Rope Swing3.JPG

Now this is the coolest sling-shot I've ever seen.
    Rope Swing2.JPG

After looping the limb, he pulls his climping rope up and over.
    Rope Swing4.JPG
Here he is anchoring himself to the climbing rope.

It is interesting to see all he has hooked to his belt.
    Rope Swing6.JPG

    Hummmm... a medicine kit???
    Rope Swing5.JPG

I asked what that was for and he said, "If I get cut really bad I can stop the blood flow with it."

    He's starting up,
    Rope Swing7.JPG
    and up,
    Rope Swing8.JPG

    Oh no, not that high!

    Rope Swing9.JPG

    Rope Swing10.JPG

You'd never know he is really 50-60 feet up by this picture.
    Rope Swing11.JPG

After hanging my rope 50 feet up and trimming out some branches he finally comes down for a break.

    Rope Swing13.JPG

Me thinks, "This swing is for the adults and NOT for my little grandchildren."

Here is Timmy trying it out for his first swing.
You gotta climb the tree that high in order to swing off.
This is not what I had in mind for my grandkids.
    Rope Swing14.JPG

    Rope Swing17.JPG

    Rope Swing15.JPG

And after all this was done, my son Jeremy made me very happy and hung another rope just 20 feet high.
