Nu Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on March 18th, 1994 by Mister Albert "He-man" Yip, Mister Bill "Mickey" Tong, Mister Henry "Cambodian" Ngan, Mister Lok "Masterlock" Man Kwon, Mister Alan "Rex" Sun, Mister Eric "One Way" Peng, Mister Tai "T-Bone" Nham, and Mister Sean "Kid" Chao. This marked the genesis of our brotherhood as the Alpha Alpha Class at SUNY Albany was established.
In order to provide a strong foundation for the fraternity, the founding fathers elected Cambodian as a Pledge Educator. As such, it was his role to instill the seven principles which brothers still live by to this day. These principles are Discipline, Leadership, Brotherhood, Professionalism, Unity, Pride, and Service. The founding fathers submitted themselves to a series of enduring tasks, each of which strengthening one or several of the principles in their own character. These series of tasks are now the basis of the educating process of Nu Alpha Phi, a process that is tried and true and teaches all those who endure how to apply the seven principles to everyday life.
As the founding fathers progressed through their own educational process, they grew a bond unlike any other. It was a bond of brotherhood, but was somehow so much more. This bond has been passed down, from generation to generation. The brothers of today share that same bond with each other, as well as the brothers of yesterday. It is an undying brotherhood that lives in us all as brothers of Nu ALPHA PHI.
On May 14, 2000, Mammoth, Rage, Bounce, Shock, and Method, established the Epsilon Alpha class, thereby creating the first Asian-interest fraternity to exist in Polytechnic University. Following the example of those preceding them, they accepted the task of expanding Nu Alpha Phi and what it stands for, to Polytechnic University and ... to the world.
