      Things are looking good.

*Our home is still a mess, but we're gradually making a small dent in the work.
*I've been doing some rad shoots with some wonderful people...and have many more to come.
*I wrote three songs in the past two nights.  Finally, I can play music and feel happy again.
*I've had a couple dreams about church...and oddly...I suddenly feel at peace with everything (for the most part).  I'm not going back, but I like to think that if I saw any of the people, I wouldn't feel like crap, or that it was my fault.
    *New friends are being made.
    *New food is being made.

    Bad things?
I have a massive quarter-sized bug bite on the front of my ankle...and it's itching like crazy.

Today has been back & forth.....
    but mostly a good day.

    • 20 hours, and 10 headaches later...I almost have Mario Paper beat.
    • Charlie cuddled on my shoulder for about an hour, and almost fell asleep when I was giving him scritches.
    • I really, really, really like our new detergent.  Wintree (I think). It's environmentally friendly, not tested on animals, and it just smells really clean.  No fake perfuminess.  Just clean.  I think it may make me like doing laundry.
    • I've been working on ideas for the shoot next week and I must say...I'm pretty happy with everything I'm going to do.  It should work out very nicely.
    • I just heard the thunder.  Yay! It's supposed to rain.  Here's hoping it rains alot and doesn't just shoot silly lightning everywhere.  I'm getting really sick of the fires.
  • Seriously.

I HATE going to the Emergency Vet.
Tonight was possibly the worst experience ever.....(backstory & all):

    1. Punky ate a whole pack of Orbit gum Thursday evening.  Orbit contains Xylitol which can be fatal to dogs....it can make them hypoglycemic or cause liver failure.  A few hours later...she peed her bed, WHILE she was asleep.
    2. Yesterday Punky was sleeping ALOT and drinking alot.  Last night, she peed in her sleep again...she also looked a bit bloated.  I decided to call & take her in to the emergency.
    3. When we got to the vets office Punky was shaking immensely & dripping saliva....two things (like the bed-wetting) she never does.
*The vet tech was quite bitchy, and looked like a meth addict.
*After she asked me a question, she walked back & told the vet who was looking stuff up on the internet...
*The vet came out & told me "she just got alot of sugar, haha".  I then said "Orbit doesn't have sugar...that's the problem.  It can make them sick."  He then replied with "well, let me see what we're looking for...." and walked out of the room.
*He called Poison Control (WTF?!) to find out what he should do.  An $85 call to poison control just for them to tell him to do a blood test to check sugar levels and protein.  I could've told him that!  How does he not know this?!
    4. Good news? Punky is A-ok.  I swear this dog is made of freaking steel.  The xylitol didn't do any damage....it just messed her up a wee bit.  She had a lovely ride home asleep in the front seat of the car.

I was seriously so stressed out the whole time we were there though.......
and it really makes me sad that there are no vets (who know what they're doing) willing to work at the clinic.

    UGH!

    edit:

Oh! He asked me what kind of dog she was too! He thought she was an effing Chihuahua.  A) she looks nothing like a chi...she's just little  B) There are no Blue & Tan Chihuahuas  C) Once again.  You're a vet?

About Me

  • "There are blue skies in my dreams and laughter that seems unending. There are green grass fields there and happiness and hope for tomorrow. My cup is full and my heart spills awkward and embarrassing blood onto white-golden streets, and I am unashamed of the stains my steps leave. Tears stream down my cheeks only to meet their redeemer and be wiped away, and there is joy--ah there is joy."
