| man, i forgot my password there for a while! since i last posted, jamie and i have been and returned from our trip to maryland, to visit his grandmother and family on that side. it was a nice trip, but flying with jamie was pretty difficult. school has started, and i'm taking five classes, which is keeping me pretty busy. i'm really hoping that i can make awesome grades this semester. i guess that's all for now, but i do have a prayer request. my government teacher is really too old to be teaching. he's losing his memory, and i can tell it really bothers him. he's forgetting things, and losing his train of thought, and while he's getting frustrated about it, the people in the class laugh at him. he gets so embarassed, and i would too, because he's doing all of this in front of a crowded room of people. and today, he lost his point again, and started telling us about how his best friend of fifty years passed away recently, and he started to cry! i can tell he gets to that point a lot lately, and i just really want to pray that he can stay strong through this, and that teaching this class will become a little easier for him, because i feel like he's just lost and scared in a fog. | | |
| don't have much time to write, but another God thing happened. i switched jobs, in a really weird turn of events. i now co-manage a body shop here in town. it's a lot of fun, and it pays more, and it's more flexible when it comes to school. my boss, even though he used to hit on me all the time, is pretty cool. (and he quit hitting on me cause i told him it made me feel gross. plus i brought in one of my big tough guy friends and introduced him as my boyfriend.) he's actually used a lot of my ideas to improve the efficiency of the shop, and wants me to start doing pay roll, and become an adjuster so that i can write estimates while he's not there and whatnot. it's a great opportunity, and i really see myself growing, and doing things i never thought i could do. anyways, gotta go, but some phone calls would be nice. *hint-hint* 903 526 1859. love you guys! | | |
| my new boss is a silk shirt wearer. | | |
| yesterday was my last day at the law firm. it wasn't quitting, and it wasn't firing, it was a mutual thing. there was a lot of messed up stuff going on there. i was hired on the spot somewhere else, at least temporarily, at least until i find something better. i'll be creating a front desk at a mechanic's shop, which should be kinda fun. jamie is huge, and trying to crawl. my family and i are fighting like cats and dogs, and i'm nervous about getting into school. that's pretty much it for now. i'll explain more later. :) | | |
| | 21 things you probably don't know, | | or care to know, about me:
1) Finding a new freckle makes me smile.
2) String cheese is God's food, slipped to us in secret by the angels.
3) When I paint my toenails, I look like a transvestite.
4) I don't know how to spell transvestite.
5) I love to climb things. Buildings, trees, T.V. antennas..let's go climb Pizza Hut.
6) I talk to homeless people, and sometimes take them to lunch.
7) I hardly ever do my hair..or maybe you did know that.
8) I think that sex has very little to do with love.
9) Marriage is less a possibility and more an impossible dream.
10) I sleep with my son in our bed. He's only fallen out once. :)
11) That being said, I think I'm a bad mother.
12) I don't have an eating disorder..sometimes I just forget to eat.
13) I love swimming. I could swim all day long, or just float, letting my toes graze the lakey muck for hours.
14) I like to munch on Jamie's face. And sometimes other people's, too.
15) I like to play sports in illegal places at night..
16) I dream of building a giant, horribly offensive sand sculpture at Sonic.
17) My ultimate goal, in this life, is to realize my own potential, and to help others realize theirs.
18) I like holding hands with my girlfriends. Especially here in the Bible belt.
19) I sometimes tell people I'm an albino Mexican, which is why my son and I look nothing alike, being that he's black and white.
20) I don't support our troops. Deal with it.
21) And yes, I like Pina Coladas. And getting caught in the rain. Unless it's too cold. |

inspiration for today (or tomorrow)
|
|
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more-you'll be a Man, my son.
--Rudyard Kipling
