Summer 06

 Hey all,

Wow, it has been a LONG time since I updated. Wow, lets see. To start Graduation went well as the last entry says and the graduation parties were fun. There were a lot more than last year but they were all good. It was fun seeing everyone again but that was so long ago and now we have people starting to leave for college so its like that all over again. I couldnt make some of the last ones because of work.

Speaking of work, that was an interesting story. I was working at Kroger in the deli. I was there for a couple of weeks but one day I was positioning roast beef on the slicer. While doing so, I knicked my finger on the blade (wasnt moving) and had to go to Doctors Urgent Care for a tetanus shot. It was right in the middle of my nail and the tip of my finger. It was on my left hand also, which meant I couldnt play viola for a couple weeks to let it heal and thus I coudlnt finish senior camp. That sucked and so with that I left Kroger in interest of protecting my finger and my scholarship. However, the whole situation is pathetic. It really is, I mean marianne did ask me last minute about switching and I should have had more time to think about it. But still, its a sad story all together but hey, you live and learn and next summer Ill find better. My new plan is to work at Best Buy (which would be awesome) around Christmas and then if I do well enough I hope theyd invite me back for the summer. Well see how that holds up.

Anyway, Prelude Strings went well. First week we did the first movement of Bachs Brandenburg Concerto #6 in ensemble and Sentimental Sarabande, a mozart movement, and maybe one other thing in orchestra. Then second week was Dvoraks American Quartet Mvt #1 and thats sweet but orchestra had some stuff that wasnt bad but I didnt play that concert so I dunno lol. OVerall, senior camp was a blast. Good times. Mike Frazier and I worked junior camp as part of our internships. It was interesting and a good experience. The kids did well but it was interesting to see how they do orchestra. Mike and i had to put on a event for hte kids and it went well, getting them involved and such. Mike took one of the pieces he wrote for english last year and wrote me a part and we played that and then I made an arrangement for viola duet of "In Dreams" from Lord of the Rings, "Hedwigs Theme" from Harry Potter, and "The Medallion Calls" from Pirates of the Caribbean. That went well and it was sweet haha. We did a lot of the logistics work with the chairs and set up, copies, and such liek that. The teachers were impressed and htey said that the week went by easier with more time with the kids and they coudl concentrate on teaching more while we had everything else covered. They were impressed with our work and just relieved that they got through it all. So hey, Im thinking maybe job prospect next year? They seemed positive to the idea and I offered to come back if they needed me to senior or junior camp and maybe Jimmy will come back and thatd be tight. But I dunno if Id want to pay to go and then do all that I mean, it would be better if I could be earning money but well see where my summer takes me next year.

Hmm, lets see I played piano (more like busting out the vocal line) in the VBS band and helped with the church musical. Both went well. Maybe gettin paid? It was good experience and fun too got to hang out with matt craig and the cooneys, sam ashmen, lauren hodapp etc. Its all good experience even with no pay because Im getting experience but also networking and contacts for references and those may pay off more in the long run than a job. I asked if I could join the Muse Pit late but they didnt call me even though they had 2 violas but thats ok. Church stuff went well and the reception by Mrs. Delman had fried chicken-from kroger- but still good nonetheless.

Lets see, ah yes, college. lol, I went to orientation in june and came out with 18 credit hours. I decided to do marching band and leave this saturday for band camp. I am also in the orchestra. Those are my 2 ensembles and freshman  cant be in more but I will audition for Wind Ensemble for the experience. That audition music is a lot harder than fairmonts and more interesting! And of course marching band music, some stuff the same as FHS, lots different but well see where that leads me. I am in the Honors Program so Im taking an honors seminar and an honors english class. I have an 8 o clock class everyday! yay! (sarcasm) Music Theory MWF at 8 and then Intro to Music Ed TTR. Itll be fun though. Lots of classes, 11 total, but all 2 or so crdit hours. I could post my whole schedule, proilly later but ya itll be interesting. I think we have a laptop selected, Dell Insperion E1705 and tweaked to the max. A really powerful computer thats better than any miami notebook and much lower in price. About 1800ish for it all and thats Dual Core Processor 1.83Ghz, 2GB Ram, 120 GB HD, Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT (really good), Sound Blaster sound card, All in One printer, and 17" widescreen. I think thats the one well get, not that bad of a price and a LOT of power for it. And the flexibility of a laptop. oph and CD burner too. So thatll be sweet but itll take awhile to get here so it might be into band camp or even into first week of classes that I dont have a computer or I might take a desktop from home and switch later. so well see, overall its going to be interesting thats for sure. Im excited to go but then again im fine just staying here enjoying my time left. so well see. and ive been cleaning and I think we have more ready for college than we think but were gettin there.

Marching band started and their show looks good this year, interesting stuff with a big digital clock, and time related songs, but they had to use the metronome at the parents show. ryan chatterton said thats cuz its a lot harder drill cuz tim fairbanks wrote the drill. but they have to modify it for fairmont. well see it looks promisinig but its weird not being there haha. lots of slackers though who quit band. shame on you! lol had to, anyway ya.

metroband went well, i talked to bryce newton and brian diller about miami and they were helpful. metroband was fun this year me and jordan tore it up again and the band was bigger this year. berning conducted so that was interesting but not bad. I think we were on the wholebetter this year than last and we playedabout symphonic band level. maybe middle to lower symphonic but i think symphonic because we played narnia with little rehearsal and did well on it. metroband is cheezy but its fun to play those songs and such and hang out but i dunno if this will be my last year. maybe i coudl come back and conduct and such for experience since then i would be in college and as a music ed major. that woudl be sweet...

BC party was sweet. lots of euchreage and fun to be had by all. and good burgers, though there were people skipped- slackers! anyway that was kool to see everyone again. and tell tales of calculus....jk lol. though an integral tatoo would be tight now that I think about it. anyway lol (jk of course)

other than all that, ive been hangin out wiht people and practicing, working on college stuff (reading an interesting book called Ahmads War and Ahamads Peace about the Iraqi conflict the past few years). Its interesting about iraqi life that we prolly never thought about at all. it makes you think. computer and video games and such are good to and sleeping. but rightnow college is on my mind and its coming literally. wow i cant believe summers over practically (for me anyway). I know i had one of the short summers but it was good. I remember back to the grad parties and playing euchre and now were trying to rematch zach and marie in euchre from back in june- scary! anyway, I think thats it for now. a big massive update on the summer lol well this week ill be getting ready to leave for miami so I might update later on but ill update once i get there and stuff (assuming I get to use a computer) haha. anyway, itll be crazy. ok well, thats all for now and good luck everyone and seniors, enjoy your last year because it truely goes by fast!

Graduation and Beyond

Wow, so yesterday was graduation. INSANE-GRADUATION? It came so fast because I remember it being marching band, or senior night at ONU and now here we are graduated from FHS. Frickin alumni. Wow, i mean, its crazy. The robe was the last part of high school ever. The whole thing went so fast. I remember being late- I know, I know- and then walking in to the band, then sitting down, then playing, then being in seat and talking to Jackie Price and others and then finally leaving. THen I was at home eating pizza. WHOA. It went so fast, I mean it was there and then it ended without notice.

So yes, i was late. We left at 5:45- plenty of time interstate to get there by 6:15 (Mr. Wrights time) but I guess graduates had to be there by 6. I didnt get that memo lol. Well construction by the Greene and then I guess a crash had traffic backed up SEVERELY. IT  WAS INSANE!!!! I was going crazy!! I seriously was, im like, "If I had to drive this everyday, Id go insane!" It was REALLY frustrating when cars were driving HORRIBLY pathetic. TUrning on a red staying in the intersection holding up a green light. It was insane how bad peopel were driving- old grannies did better! And then it took liek 30 minutes to get down the stretch of N Fairfield Rd from Fairfield Commons to the Nutter Center. Insane traffic, thats why I was late. (And a "chicken" deal at 5th and Main but thats on the dl yo.) Anyway, then I got there and Mrs. um main counselor lady um um Wallace, thats it shouted 1 more! And then I saw teachers, walked into this room where practically EVERYONE was there and waiting, all dressed and fancy. ANd there I was running in not even dressed. Wow that was sad, buit I got in line and peopel helped dress me by putting hte stoles on and the cords and all and I laughed. But wow I was nervous and embarassed because I wasnt voted most likely to be late and I was. Well, I got there just as they were about ready to walk out and they held it over a little for me so I was ready in time. But wow, at least i got to walk in but still wow. On the road I kept telling myself, I cant be late, I cant be late. It was sad but I got there and then Schoeinline skipped liek 5 valedictorians names! HOW COULD HE DO THAT!!!!??? But Monali and I stood up anyway and raised our hands but had to sit back down. At least we were in the program and I was mentioned for music award, the Arion Award. So that was neat and got to see the band and all that. Overall a good experience but so fast.

And now herre we are, graduated. Alumni. Its insane because I may never have a class with these people again. You know? We all go off in our ways and these are people I have been with for 13 years. Thats a shocker. Itll be ok though in the end. We got grad parties, email, AIM, facebook, myspace, and reunions but wow. You know its liek finally this time came. I was just a freshman in 2002 saying 2006 is so far away but now it is that and here I am. Wow, what a journey.

Anyway, ive been busy with music stuff and finsihing it up, getting college stuff worked on, grad partying it up, and then just taking it easy and enjoying life by playign games, sleepinhg, and hangin out. I will be working at Kroger with tons of FHS people this summer so thats kool. I need money and theyre willing to work around my crazy schedule. I can still go to Prelude Strings (3 wk internship this time :)), giving strings, metroband, and mayeb a KMS String Camp. So thats kool so hey its Summer 06!!!

As weird as graduating feels, I mean in a sense, I feel ready to move on. Its almost like now that I have graduated Im ready to move on to college. its weird but thats sorta how I felt and thats scary you know cuz I sorta liked where I was, who I knew, what I was in, and all that but I guess youhave to move on. You cant stay in one place forever I suppose and well now its on to Miami Class of 2010 yo!! And now, Summer 06 starts fo sho!

Later all (long entry I know)

Wednesday, May 31, 2006

so, last band concert was tonight. last concert at FHS period. scary......I mean, I like wind ensemble, and symphonic chorale, and symphony orchestra but I dunno you know? its weird I like those groups but it is time to move on i suppose. Overall iot was a good concert. I did well, nailed my last solo in Lincoln Portrait. However, that first one...I hit the Bb but missed hte one note coming down...AHHHHH and then there was the one part in the D Major section I was on wrong partial and Im like im not screwing up the piece and the part came out but it wasnt as strong as it shoudl have been. then there was the semi-rushing thing in the Ives. Lisa dont kill me! lol we did ok i saw I was rushing nad semi played so it didnt sound as bad, worst thing is that it sounded weak but hey better weak then sucky. Stars and Stripes was good htough, hit the hard parts in the fast part, got most of the beggining cept one thing, and then hit pretty much all fo the high Ab's. Not too shabby indeed. I love stars and stripes forever. Excellent piece indeed. OVerall good last concert, better than Chamber concert, but not as good as Contest. THen again, we only spent 3 weeks on this stuff and a hectic 3 weeks it was. Hmm good stuff in the band program these past 2 years but its weird being pretty much done. oh well, its been a fun run and then theres miami of couse so we'll see. hmm ok well, im out for now. Cici ya later

Saturday, May 27, 2006

So, whats today? May 27- the first day of summer for me and all seniors. Yesterday was my LAST DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL! LAST DAY. Thats sick! It seems liek yesterday that I was a freshman going 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and thinking how far away it is. And now its here. The Senior Flyer was about MY CLASS for once and these grad parties are MY GRADE friends and MY GRAD PARTY, MY GRADUATION, MY BACHALAURETTE (sp), and wow. I cant believe its here. No more high school, no more Fairmont. Its insane, the people ive met and become friends with, the place i know, the groups im in and know- its all going to be gone. I mean im even; I want to go to college and im excited but at hte same time im not. You know? its weird.

Along with this, I was voted teachers pet and most talkative. I believe the most talkative lol but teachers pet? Now I did vote for bennett....lol but wow the time has come. Senior Orchestra concert I was given the Arion Award- the highest orchestra award there is (it equals the Sousa award for band). Plaque, other thing, metal and pin, certificate, and all that was crazy. THen Best Viola, Most Talkative Guy, and one more from school orchestra haha. Then DPYO Concerts were good I got my act together for the end when it needed to be and had good concerts each. Im glad Neal Gittleman took the MArch #3 slower, and in 4- YES FOUR! but it came to gether, sad though that I have to leave those people to. My 3 year tenure with the orchestra is over :( and I leave Principal Chair. THough the viola section will stay in good hands and the orchestra will be good too.
School groups will be good too. Aaron Wagner tried out for choir and I hope made Chorale. He has a deep voice, LOW Bb! Insane but itll hjappen. But leaving school orchestra and my academics- I wont see some of them again. Or be in any classes with them. Its weird, last time were all equal here at fairmont. Itll be weird though without these people. Wind Ensemble and CHorale still have some time left but even then its there. Ive made so many friends through out the years and met so many different people. Its just going to be really weird without them.

I dont remember when I last updated but Academic Awards and Key Awards were good. I got some schoalrship stuff and KEy Awards in Music, French, and Valedictorian. Thats crazy valedictorian! but lets see toehr than that classes have been winding down- Chem test yesterday and I squeezed by 55 out of 57 which made my grade 89.7 which is an A! YES NO EXAMS FOR ME AND ALL As IN EACH SEMESTER FO EVERY CLASS IN HIGH SCHOOL! YAY YUH!!!!! But whew other than that Euchreage, Palaceage, Rummyage, and other cards in classes. Some good stuff though. Ima miss the massive cardage though it will be summer. Its weird no Mitter and Ive had him for 2 years, no more Mauch, no more any other teacher you know? And no more Ms. Gorman and shes leaving just like us. Weird though with all this. Some little stuff to finsih up for High School then Im out. Insane.

Lets see work this summer, hanging out, music (Miami Orchestra and Viola Music), Giving Strings, Metroband, Prelude Strings (Intern for both camps and maybe teaching?), KMS Middle School Strings CAmp (Paid?), and then just whatever comes up. I need to get a job though ive applied but heard nothing back. Ill have to work on that...Overall, Grad parties and lots of stuff so itll be a good summer then college AH

But wow its just, weird, lots going on in my head but at the same itme it hasnt sunk in yet I think. I dont really know what to think. Last time for a lot of things, no more Advisory and Michelle Rearick whos been in my advisory for 7 years- 7 whole years. Wow, just lots of stuff exciting but changes nonetheless. Anyway, thats my update for this time since I need to update on this big day or well yesterday it was. haha but more will come later and now, Summer 2006 begins...

Sunday, May 14, 2006

hmm, lets see where to begin? been a long time since update. FRanklin Pit was good and 100 dollas made :). FHS Pit The Music Man was AMAZING. The best part was the finale band but it was a fun show that went fast and had good stuff in it. Concerts went well this month. SYMPHONIC CHORALE STRAIGHT Is AT STATE COMPETITION!!!!!! NHS thing coming up will be good, Final Orchestra Concert will be good. Lets Wind Ensemble Chamber concert went well for the most part. DPYO Spring COncert went well- glad I spent an hour and 15 on it yesterday cuz it helped a lot. Good stuff in all for MOthers Day. AP Test went well  I think- 4 or 5 even i dunno though and I want to know but not until July :(. Senior Research Paper in thank goodness- hope I did well on that. Behind in English but catchin up eventually. Francais est tres bien maintenant. Got a I at Solo and Ensemlbe, played at Dayton Music Club Scholarship Recital. I got FHS Key Awards in Music and French and for Valedictorian. Got the Ketering Fairmont PTO Scholarship and Honor Rollish Award. Got Euphonium Pin from Band Awards and had fun there- got the directors a clock and got one myself too.

Prom was crazy. Sorta releived its over but then again I miss it too. Spent time with tons of sweet people all after choir state contest til 12:45 in the AM. Overall got it all wrapped up and it was kool. THough it was weird, liek I had been so busy with musical and tests and all that it was liek whoa, hole there in my life but i got it together. In the end not too shabby yo Senior Prom 06 with Ms. Erin Birmingham and of course JC, Julliet, Womel, Jdoe, and tons of others.

On another note, it has been declared, mrs beauregard lol, but I have decided to attend Miami University next year in Music Education. As for Math Ed and all the activites I still need to decide that. Viola scholarship too! :) but I want to continue Euphonium though. We'll need to see all that I can fit in though and still live cuz music ed majors do do a lot of classes as well as practice time. Speaking of that I need a job too...AHHH but itll work out and be good. So hey exciting stuff I like the university, people were nice to me when I was there, I like the viola teacher, the school has a good band orch and choir so I have options, and I know a lot of people there or who have graduated from there. And its a good Ed sschool so thats a plus. Crazy times next year yo.

So I think thats about everything, wow a summary of more than a month's stuff. Ive been so busy with everything I dont remember what Ive included in previous entries or what not but hey at least this gets me back up to speed for now. Scary though, Bachalaurette and Commencement coming up in a couple of weeks and grad partying. That's scary cuz then I'll really be a college kid. WHoa, how time flies. Oh man, itll be sweet though. Later all hope you're not dead after reading this.
