Hey everyone. While I was reading the other week God showed me something that i thought was kind of cool.  Some of you may have already read this; I'm not the best at sharing everything that happens to me each day so I think that, as God shows me things and as time provides I'll update the blog. He's actually been showing me a lot and I dont really have much time, but I did already have this typed out so...

"I found something while reading in 1 Samuel that i never noticed before, in
chapter 22. Firstly though, in chapter 15 Saul was commanded to go and
attack the Amalekites and to utterly destroy all that they had. He was
to Kill everyone and everything. The verse is as follows...

"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and
spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox
and sheep, camel and ass." 1 Samuel 15:3(KJV)

However, he did not. He killed the people, but that's all he did. He
didn't kill their leader. This was a nation that represented sin and
flesh and he didn't kill their leader! On top of that he didn't even
kill the livestock, as he was commanded to do. Being a Jew and living
in a nation among the Amalekites, Saul must have had a better
understanding of how much God despised this nation(I mean, come on,
how could anyone not see it!??! God even wanted their livestock to be
destroyed). God must have had utter disgust towards them. From Saul
actions, it seem evident that Saul's heart was not aligned with God's.
He though it better to do what seemed better in his own eyes and he
rejected God's commandment. For these reasons God rejected Saul, because he wouldn't act out God's anger against Amalek.

NOW!! If you look in chapter 22... No, wait first i want you to read
Psalms 57 and 142(especially 142!!). I'm not sure if you have a bible
with you so I'll just copy and paste these psalms from the Internet or
from esword.

Psalm 57
To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, Michtam of David, when he fled
from Saul in the cave. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto
me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will
I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto
God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall
send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would
swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. My
soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire,
even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their
tongue a sharp sword. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let
thy glory be above all the earth. They have prepared a net for my
steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into
the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah. My heart is
fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake
up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I
will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee
among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy
truth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let
thy glory be above all the earth.
(Psalm 57 KJV)

Psalm 142
Maschil of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave. I cried unto the
LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my
supplication. I poured out my complaint before him; I showed before
him my trouble. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou
knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a
snare for me. I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no
man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I
cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in
the land of the living. Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low:
deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. Bring my
soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall
compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
(Psalm 142 KJV)

OK now you can open to 1 Samuel 22. I'm still not sure if you do have
your bible, but I'll just trust that you do ;) Saul was pursuing David,
that he might kill him. He discovered that David had been in Nob, so
he followed him there. He saw the priests and accused them of treason
and ordered to have them all slaughtered. Now it's in verse 19 that i
think is the most interesting!

And the king said to Doeg, "You turn and kill the priests!" So Doeg
the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day
eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod. Also Nob, the city of the
priests, he struck with the edge of the sword, both men and women,
children and nursing infants, oxen and donkeys and sheep--with the
edge of the sword. (1 Samuel 22:18-19 NKJV)

After you reading this verse, you should already know where I'm going
with this. After the Spirit of God had departed from Saul, he became
so wicked. His heart began to turn to evil things and fear ruled over
his life. There was no longer a trust in God, but fear of losing a
kingdom which was truly never his. In the past he thought it better to
keep the livestock and to spare the king; but now Saul, out of his own
wickedness had 85 priests of God killed. Saul did a horrible thing
here! When God had given him the commandment, he transgressed. And
now, being driven by fear and anger he killed 85 of God's priests and
and everyone else AND he even killed the livestock!

The purpose of you reading these psalms is that i just wanted you to
understand all the more, what was in David's heart. He loved and
trusted God so much! The may have been fear but it never overcame him
because he trusted God! Within these psalms he cried out to God with
his whole heart. Our God loves us so much. In the psalms It's said
that God puts all of our tears in His bottle and has every one of them
recorded! He loves us this much! What an amazing God. It's so
encouraging to know that in those times that we would normally be
dwelling in fear we have God who's love for us casts our fear away.

Hey everyone. I'm not sure who or how many people actually subscribe to me, but this is my first serious posting. A lot happened after I left ccbc, I had moved to Lafayette and had several different jobs up there. God has really blessed me recently with: a new job in Indianapolis, a new car, better location, and my old church(Horizon Christian Fellowship). I now work for a company called Integrated Business Communications,  I LOVE IT!!! The greatest blessing that God has continually given is his word. I have never experienced so much joy in reading it. While at ccbc it was done out of instruction and as a laborious task, rarely did i delight in it. Looking back i see that i had the wrong heart. I found a few pic of Ukraine so enjoy.
