Wei Liew, serving with Asian American Campus Ministry at the Univ. of Texas at Austin                                                     Aug-Oct 2005

IN THE FIRST 60 DAYS
God has been truly faithful to me!  This prayer update brings you to AUSTIN, TEXAS where you will find a brief description highlighting some of my work activities, specific ways God has answered your prayers, and dreams to join me in praying for.  Personally, adjusting to the city has been challenging since nearly all my friends have moved out of Austin.  However, I am grateful for my three roommates.  I’m also continuing to stay close to the Lord in this transition.  Even though I’m still searching for a church home and authentic community to be a part of, I’m glad to be where I’m supposed to be.

Dear Pray4WEI Supporters,

How great it is to know the love of the Lord!
Greetings from the heart of Texas!
In this update of My Transition and the Lord's Provision, you will find the following:
* Take Note:  Change of Address
Cool! Prayers Answered (including "support raised" update - pretty good!)
* And, Let's Pray Together for these requests
plus, What's Next for the upcoming month.

 TAKE NOTE
new address!  11407 Barrington Way, Austin, TX  78759-4405

 COOL!  Prayers Answered
 1.  Remember last month when I asked for prayer about moving to Austin and needing help packing, loading, and unloading my belongings?  God put it on the hearts of many of you, and
     * In Arizona, 20 people came out to help me pack and load
     * In Austin, 10 people met the movers and helped me unload my things under the supervision of amazing friends.
 2.  God has provided an affordable car for me which is so helpful to get around the city!
 3.  GOD has answered your prayers for 100% funding by August.  In fact, through the generous gifts of 103 individuals, I have been able to begin ministry August 8th full-time with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.  Thank you for your support!*

Let's Pray Together  for these requests:
 1.  One burden I have is that the market in AZ seems to be slowing down, and my home has not received even one offer yet.  Please pray with me that my home sells quickly and smoothly.
 2.  Pray for my transition to life in Austin - I really miss all the friends who are like family to me in Arizona.  I'm also adjusting to living off campus for the first time, new schedules, a different standard of living, finding a good church home, making new friends, and having courage (and energy!) to take on new responsibilities.
 3.  Join me in praying that my mom, dad, sister and I will continue to support each other and grow closer together as a family.

What's Next? for the upcoming month
Leadership Retreat .  Pep-Rally .  New Student Outreach .  Training .  Outreach Follow-Up . Visit to Baylor U (Asians For Christ chapter) .  Dorm Move-In Service Project .  Free Food Fun Fest (F4) Outreach .  F4 Follow-Up/Evangelism .  Classes Begin .  Prayer Meetings .  UT Asian American Campus Ministry (AACM) Large Group .  EKG (Freshmen Retreat) .

Life is busy, so each day I take some time to myself, and while I pray throughout the day to God, I also have time to be still with Him in the evenings.  It is amazing to pray with my team and read scripture before we begin planning/meetings.  Thank you for sending me into ministry so that I can devote my life to the Lord in this way.  You have made this possible.

God bless you and your family,
Wei Liew
* Thank you for your patience during my transition and move halfway across the country.  I am mailing in checks from several of you, and you should receive a receipt and an envelop from IVCF in the mail within 3 weeks if you haven't already.  Please let me know if you do not receive this correspondance and I will personally follow-up with the right department on your behalf.  Thanks again for your support!
** If you wish to receive a hard copy prayer update in the mail, please let me know by emailing me.
