AGE

What is age?  To me age is just a number.  It’s not a measure of ones maturity or how much they have experienced in their life thus far.  Yes, I understand that as you get older you experience more but that’s not to say that someone of 19 hasn’t experienced just as much drama in their lifetime as a 26 year old; it just depends on the person.  People look at me and assume because I’m only 20 that I couldn’t possibly understand how the world works.  People assume that I haven’t experienced anything, that I’ve been sheltered and protected from the world so I’m just a naive child.  The reason I am bringing up this whole age thing is because lately Chaos and I have been catching a little heat about our age difference; which I don’t understand why.  It’s a proven fact that women mature faster than men so that age difference is sometimes needed to compensate for that.  So this would mean that a 25 year old woman that is with a 35 year old man would be around the same level of maturity in most cases.  I’m not saying that this encapsulates every one or all relationships but in my experience it seems to be the case. So this would explain the need for a younger woman to be with an older man. It’s not always just a physical attraction thing but a lot of the time it’s a mental attraction.  Now the reason that you see younger men with older women is easy to explain.  That’s just one of lives cruel jokes.  Men hit their sexual peak between the ages of 18 and 26 or somewhere around those years; while women hit theirs in their 40’s.  People still look down upon it but it’s easier to explain.    Now I’m just curious as to why people are making such a big deal.  If I were to be let’s say 30 and Chaos was to be 40 at this current juncture in time I bet no one would be saying anything about it but because I’m 20 and he’s 30 people have a problem.  Same year gap but it’s looked at completely differently, why is that? I mean if you were to meet the man/women of your dreams, everything just clicks perfectly but then you find out he/she is 15 years older or younger than you does that mean you just walk away?  I mean shouldn’t it only matter whether or not the person makes you happy?  Like I said before…. Age is just a number…. You are as old or as young as you feel.
