just wondering

I wonder, does this ever happen to anyone?
As a student of the sciences, i'm required to retain lots of information related to my area of study. Interestingly enough, I find myself remembering certain pieces of information very vividly and well after learning it the first time, whereas other pieces of information just can't seem to stay in my brain even upon hearing it numerous times. What is it about 'the brain' or 'my brain' that gives rise to this phenomena? Neither neuroscience nor behavioral medicine were able to shed light on this. Any ideas people?

well, its been a long time since I have blogged.  This used to be my thing, but my creativity bug has diminished over time, or maybe just I don't feel like it anymore.  Whatever the case may be, I haven't been on the blog scene for a while.  I decided to come back today for specific reasons.

I recently attended an event called College Day at a school in Queens.  What a wonderfully powerful and inspirational experience that was.  First off, when I walked into the building the school itself was in a very nice modern condition.  There were cultural displays for Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Islam, and Kwanzaa.  Besides that, throughout the school in addition to having students' work posted up along the walls, there was also many different cultural heroes and icons with inspirational messages throughout.

There was also a very diverse teaching staff, a library that was very lively, inviting, and full of books.  Last but certainly not least, there was great emphasis placed on getting the idea of college into the minds of these inner-city children.  This school for me was a great beacon of hope.  In my opinion, the elementary schools that I went to were not this good at what they did.  Imagine just how good our country's education system would be, if every school was like this.

Will be back later if the thought returns

Bx 19 pros.  stops by ccny and by my house.  moves really fast at night, almost like an express bus and gets me home from studying late in about 30 to 40 mins roughly.  also one of the few buses that actually follows it's own schedule of all the MTA buses.

Bx19 cons.  the most grimey bus!! lol empty bottles rollin around, empty cartons of mcdonalds/crown fried/ chinese restaurant etc., chicken bones?!?! and of course add on some unidentifiable fluid stains lol.  We also have the service that very much drags slowly throughout the day during "rush hour"

Damn, five exams reduced to four that is good stuff.  Still massive amounts to study.  Wish me luck.  After one exam in a few hrs, I can relax kick back and study some pharm what joy lol peace ya'll
