OPERATION OUTCRY: SILENT NO MORE PRAISE REPORT
& CALL FOR MORE PRAYER TO REVERSE ROE V. WADE
February 18th . Critical date

On February 18th, 2005, the Supreme Court is currently docketed to have an internal, private discussion conference on how to handle the petition to reverse Roe v. Wade. We ask you to cry out for the covenant with death to be annulled.
Many of you have previously joined with us (Norma McCorvey, the former Roe of Roe v. Wade and Sandra Cano, the former Doe of Doe v. Bolton, and the staff of The Justice Foundation, the attorneys representing both of them and the post-abortive witnesses of Operation Outcry: Silent No More - www.operationoutcry.org) in praying to reverse Roe v. Wade. On January 14th, the petition to reverse Roe v. Wade was filed with the United States Supreme Court. It was received by the United States Supreme Court on January 19th. On January 17th, Martin Luther King's birthday, Norma McCorvey and Allan Parker appeared on Hannity & Colmes to announce the filing. On January 18th, a press conference with Norma, Sandra, and the ladies of Operation Outcry: Silent No More and the lawyers was held on the steps of the United States Supreme Court. Your prayers are deeply appreciated, they are working, and we need more continual and fervent effectual prayer. The petition to reverse Roe has been set for a Supreme Court discussion conference on February 18th with results to be public on February 22nd. PRAISE REPORTS:
Here are a few things that have been accomplished as a result of your prayers.
1.      For the first time in United States history, two women (Norma McCorvey, the former Roe of Roe v. Wade and Sandra Cano, the former Doe of Doe v. Bolton) have joined together to ask the Court to reverse their own landmark decisions.
2.      The cost of printing the petition was over $13,000.00 and required tens of thousands of dollars of attorneys' fees and traveling expenses. The Lord has provided the resources needed and there is even a small reserve fund for the future. (For the short term.) God provides, but continue to pray for abundant finances.
3.      The excerpts from one hundred affidavits of post-abortive women were included in the petition itself. The Lord has told us that "the waters will overflow the secret place and the covenant with death will be annulled" in this case or Doe or both. Isaiah 28:14-22. The waters are the tears of women. The ladies are the witnesses that can convince the Court that what they are doing is wrong. We overcome Satan by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. Rev. 12:11. 4.      Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was quoted on the front page of the New York Times on January 25th as saying "[A]bortion is a sad, even tragic decision for many, many women." Only the Lord could arrange for her to make this damaging admission, no matter what her motive was, in the most prominent liberal media at the very time that this is the major argument we are making to the Supreme Court. There is no doubt that this will be a major boost to our case. In addition, on January 23rd, The Washington Post reported on a story in which the Catholic Church was burying cremated human remains from an abortion clinic. The abortion clinic was upset that the Church was interfering with "women's most intimate sorrow." Calling abortion a woman's most intimate sorrow also confirms the heart of our argument to the Supreme Court. It will be difficult for the Court to dismiss our argument when abortionists and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton agree with us. Only the Lord, the Master of Breakthroughs can get these statements printed in the national media at the same time our case is there. Pray that such comments and other things which influence the thinking of the judges will continue.
5.      Over one thousand affidavits from post-abortive women telling the truth about what abortion does to women and the child are now filed with the Court. Please pray that the Court will read the ones that will convince them that abortion is murder, that it is destroying women, and Roe should be overturned.
6.      There is a tremendous amount of concerted, effectual fervent prayer from intercessors across all the denominations of Christendom going up on this case. For example, an ecumenical prayer summit was conducted by Prayer Summit ministry for the three days prior to our filing of the petition in Washington, D.C. The Cause, with Lou Engle and numerous related ministries such as Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets and many strategic prayer networks met in Washington, D.C. from the 17th through the 19th to pray for an end to abortion, and many young people are continuing to live in the District of Columbia and praying for this case continually until the walls come down. Many young people from across America have moved to Washington, D.C. to live there until they see victory. The Cause and Youth With a Mission, and many other national groups are calling for a forty day fast to last until March 1, 2005. The Catholic group OREMUS which is Latin for "Let us pray" sent out 250,000 e-mails to Catholic intercessors around the world requesting prayer for this case. Dr. D. James Kennedy sent out 600,000 e-mails around the world asking for people to pray for this case. You are part of a worldwide move of God.
PRAYER NEEDS:
1.      People ask, "When will the case be decided?" The answer is that the case is being decided RIGHT NOW. The Court will meet privately on February 18th to discuss what to do. The members of the Court are considering the case every day until the decision is released in public and writing, which is scheduled now for February 22. The Court can delay a decision if it needs more time. Each member of the Court and their staff has received a copy of the petition. See www.operationoutcry.org to pray over the petition. They are reading it; they are discussing it among themselves. They are free to discuss it with other members of the Court. They are writing memorandums. It is permissible for a justice to attempt to influence the other justices. This is supposed to be a group decision. An individual judge may decide one way one day and then change his mind if someone persuades him/her otherwise, or if they see something in the media, or perhaps a dream that changes their minds. Thus, constant daily prayer is needed until the walls are broken through and shattered to the ground as in the battle of Jericho. Seek the Lord, the Master of Breakthroughs, to continue to work on the heart of the judges daily in prayer. We also encourage you to fast as much as the Holy Spirit leads, especially February 16th, 17th and 18th.
2.      We are urging and calling on men who will join us in praying for those in authority, I Tim. 1:1-8, to pray for the Supreme Court until this decision is announced publicly. Join us between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. in each time zone by calling 1-641-497-7302, Access Code 399430#. (The call will cost you regular long distance charges so either use free cell phone night minutes, or an unlimited long distance plan.)
3.      Please pray that the God of Justice and Judgment rise up and scatter His enemies at this time and help the afflicted. Please pray especially Psalms 9 and 35, and Isaiah 28:14-22 (which is the promise that was given to us that the covenant with death will be annulled.) The second stone in our bag is the Doe v. Bolton case which is still at the trial court, but we are praying that the first stone kills Goliath. The cases could both be overturned in this case because they are linked.

Abortion-

Why this is wrong.  As told by a pathologist. 

  • Take the most obvious type of abortion that can be considered "wrong" or murder.  The "partial birth abortion' procedure is taking the life of an infant that would be completely viable if born at that instant.  There is absolutely no way to justify that horrific 'procedure' that then cuts the back of the head that was partially delivered and the brains were scrambled using stainless steel instruments, and evacuated with a suction.   This is clearly murder.  This is clearly unlike the usual practice of medicine.  Does the baby have a 'choice'?  Even Hillary Clinton talks about 'children's rights'.  This fully formed baby needs no respirator and could go home shortly after birth.  We have no right to fuss about Milosevic's immorality (as bad as that is) when we allow this to occur in the United States.  Bill Clinton cannot lead us into a moral battle and do well to save people.
  • What about earlier gestational age fetuses and even embryos?  As a pathologist, I have seen many spontaneous abortion, 'products of conception'.  At even less than 12 weeks gestation, the fetus is incredibly complex and human.  It is nowhere near our 'developed' state but it is clearly different from other types of "tissue".   The DNA is clearly, from the moment of conception, completely unique from everyone else on earth.  It has taken us thousands of years to obtain the capability of in-vitro fertilization.  God performs this miracle thousands of times daily.   
  • What about the mother's 'choice'?  The argument that she has the right to choose what happens to her own body is markedly flawed.  The same ones who want to give a woman the right for an abortion would condemn women for smoking and fight what was her 'choice', clearly affecting her own body.  In abortion, the baby is clearly separate in content and being than the mother.  It is only riding with the mother for a few months.  As Christians, we should protect the helpless, including the unborn individual as it grows.  Why doesn't anyone expose that the reason for an abortion is simply selfishness?  The mother's 'choice' is simply what inconvenience she wants to escape.    
  • We take way too much credit, credit that God deserves.  We think that we created the life.  Just a minute.  One act of sex, a few minutes in length, 'made' a life?  NO!  First, God gave us bodies capable of procreating with incredibly complex and accurate hormonal balance and physiologic changes that allow this to work.   It is unbelievable, when you choose to think about it, that our bodies are capable of the processes that allow life to renew.  How many infertile couples have learned how difficult it is to simply conceive and to develop.  The point is simple.   Without God 'making' the baby, it would not occur.  A few minutes of sex and some time growing in a uterus is not 'making' a baby.  If I want to make a car, it requires hours of careful action and thought to accomplish this.  A baby is much more complex.  We cannot make all needed DNA, we cannot take the needed DNA and form life under the most controlled situations.  We still have not made any kind of life, even the most simple one-cell kind.  We can do some pretty incredible stuff but we cannot make life.  God does this routinely.  Give Him the credit.    
  • I believe the reason people call for abortion to be legal is, simply put, selfishness.   The abortion occurs as the mother (maybe under other's pressure) does not want the baby.  Others do not want to feel the guilt of not picking up the pieces to help an unwanted baby.  They selfishly want to spend their money on themselves and their wants rather than to sacrifice some for unwanted or unsupported babies.  The mother puts her own wants above the baby's needs.  In this day of birth control, she forgot to 'choose' abstinence or birth control and for some reason God gave her a life.  Why?   Ask Him.
  • Here is are some examples.  There are many.  Ethyl Waters was a product of a rape and she turned out to positively affect many people's lives.  My wife and I thought our own family was complete a few years ago with our 2 boys.  Suddenly, after an 8 year gap, at nearly 40 years of age, my wife became pregnant again.  This was extremely difficult on our lives.  We would not ever consider an abortion but we absolutely had no interest in going through the difficulties we well knew raising another child.  God had a better idea.  Despite the trauma, our daughter has been clearly a gift from God.  The ideas of another child were unwelcome.  On her birth and with developing a relationship with her, she is probably the best gift God could have given to our family.  This is true of any child born.  They can all be loved and they deserve that, even if it is by strangers.

    Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." 
  • What God has created, who are we to destroy?
  • Currently in medicine, we have advanced our technology and understanding to be able to care for and nourish very early premature infants, even into the second trimester.  People easily agree they have rights but across town another, same gestational age infant is snatched from the mother's body in a horrific manner.   Where should we draw the line?  The only answer that can be medically supported is before conception.
  • It isn't just another 'procedure' in medicine.  Having helped and performed many 'procedures', there is virtually nothing as disgusting as the suction causing ripping and destruction of formed placental and fetal tissue that occurs with an abortion, not to mention the pain imposed on the fetus being torn apart.  This is not meant to be sensational, although it is.  This is to make the point that medical 'procedures' are to fix a problem and nearly all are neat and clean with this exception.  When physicians remove a uterus, for example, they do their best to remove it intact.  Not so with an abortion.   The goal is simple evacuation.  Doctors are sworn to stand up for life and to minimize suffering for all patients.  Those who perform abortions have violated the Hippocratic oath.  They forget that the fetus is a patient too.
  • I must admit I did not always feel this way.  I was trained as this was basically 'tissue' through college and it was not much of an issue for me in medical school, until we had a patient come in from an abortion clinic's botched 'procedure' to our GYN service to stop a hemorrhage.  Even then I was not sure that abortions were wrong.  I believed that an unwanted child was better dead than unwanted, leading a difficult life.   How elitist!!  Who am I to say if someone's life is worthwhile or not?   Recently some conjoined twins, joined at the head, were interviewed by ABC.  They lead incredibly difficult lives yet they enjoy life in a powerful way!
On ABC’s Primetime Live (March 11, 1998) there was an interesting report regarding the difficult decisions accompanying the birth and lives of conjoined twins.  They highlighted some female twins that are 35 years old, conjoined at the head.  One has spina bifida and is in a cart while the other twin wheels her around.   Undoubtedly a difficult life.   "Experts" would have (or did) tell their mother to have a "therapeutic abortion".    They might have been separated successfully – for one of the twins, likely killing the other twin.   As disturbing as it was to see them struggle, obviously NOT living anything like a ‘normal’ life, my convictions were strengthened watching these wonderful ladies.   Here is a quote:

Dr. Nancy Smitherman (interviewing): It shocks some that Laurie and Reba can be happy, that they can see meaning in their lives.

Laurie Chappelle: This is---this was, God’s purpose.

Nancy Smitherman: And what is God’s purpose?

Laurie Chappelle: I don’t know. I mean, I guess to just show people that no matter which way you are, you can live a fulfilling life, and that, you know, people should not judge on what you look like, and they should judge on your character and what’s in your heart.

Well, now you have heard from real experts.   They are bringing glory to God.    Praise the LORD! He chose to make them in that manner and he knows better than we.

  • Often, we cannot judge appropriately for our own lives, much less others' lives.  Kevorkian is absolutely wrong.  Only God knows best when to take a life, often when we do not understand why.       
  • Seeing these truths, seeing examples of my own error in judgement as to what is the best way to   handle 'unwanted' or what I felt was unhappy, difficult, lives helped me to fall back to the obvious  conclusion.  God makes life, we have no business shortening what God had started, without His  approval.

I just don't understand, how can someone be so blind as to think this isn't murder? The Courts consider killing a pregnant woman a worse offense than killing just one person, and yet millions of these kids are killed every year, and no one blinks an eyelash?

You’re a Republican???


In today’s America, ask a growing number of high school and college students; their teachers and professors; the self-anointed media elite and/or hard working men and women of all ethnicities, the question, “What is a Republican?”, and you’ll be told “… a rich, greedy, egotistical individual, motivated only by money and the desire to accumulate more and more of it, at the expense of the environment … the working poor ….and all whom they exploit…”

I am a Republican … I am none of those things… and I don’t know any Republicans who are.

WHAT I AM … first and foremost, is a loving husband of some 52 plus years, the father of four and an American who’s proud of his country… and his country’s heritage.

WHAT I AM … is the grandson of immigrants who risked everything, including their lives and those of their children, to escape tyranny in search of freedom.

WHAT I AM … is a man who grew up during the Depression and witnessed, first hand, the effects of the Stock Market crash and the soup lines that followed. I watched as both my parents and grand parents, who had very little themselves, share what food they had with a half dozen other families, who had even less.

WHAT I AM … is someone who worked his way through college by holding down three and four jobs at a time and then used that education to build a better life.

WHAT I AM … is a husband who, at age 24, started his own business for the “privilege” of working 60, 70 and 80 hours a week, risking everything I had, including my health, in search of a better life for myself and my loved ones.

WHAT I AM … is a businessman whose blood, sweat and tears…. and plenty of them…, made it possible for me to provide a secure living, not only for my family and myself, but also for literally hundreds of my employees throughout the years. Employees, who in turn, were able to buy their own homes, raise their own families and give back to their communities and their country.

WHAT I AM … is a man who believes in God; a God who has blessed this country… and all for which it stands.

WHAT I AM … is someone who knows, if you doubt miracles exist in today’s world, you need only to look into the face of those who received them … and the eyes of those who give them.

WHAT I AM … is an American who’s proud that his President embraces a belief in God; proud of a President who understands, as “politically incorrect” as it may be, there is evil in this world and for the security and safety of all freedom loving people everywhere, it must be confronted… and it must be defeated.

WHAT I AM … is an American who takes comfort in the knowledge that our President refuses to allow decisions concerning the very safety and security of this nation, to be governed by the political whims of foreign governments.

WHAT I AM … is tired of hearing from leading Democrats who see only negativity in America; racism in her people; class warfare in her society and “political incorrectness” in her character.

WHAT I AM … is a former democrat who now understands that it is the soldier and not the reporter that guarantees us our freedoms of press, speech and dissent.

WHAT I AM … is a man who believes in the sanctity of life. A man who is repulsed by the pandering of the political left for votes, at the expense of the unborn.

WHAT I AM … is a husband and father who believes in the sanctity of marriage and the preservation of the family unit.

WHAT I AM … is a movie go-er who is repulsed by those insecure, socially inept, elementary thinking, ego-inflated “entertainers” who have appointed themselves “experts” in the fields of national security and geo-politics and then use their forum to attack this nation, its leaders and its actions…. much to the delight and encouragement of our enemies.

WHAT I AM … is an American who understands the difference between “censorship” and “choice”. Evidently, these individuals do not, because when these same “celebrities” receive public ridicule for their offensive actions, the first thing they yell is “Censorship!”. What they seem incapable of understanding is… the right of free speech and dissent is shared equally by those offended… as well as those who offend. I support and will continue to support those films and performers whom I choose to … and refuse to support those I don’t. It is my right as an American … a right I will continue to enthusiastically exercise.

WHAT I AM … is a voter, tired of politicians, who, every time their voting records are subjected to public scrutiny, try to divert attention from their political and legislative failures by accusing their opponents of “attack ads” and “negative campaigning”…. and the news media who allow them to get away with it.

WHAT I AM … is a Catholic who loves his God and his Faith… and who’s been taught to respect all religions whose teachings are based in love, peace and charity. As such, I am embarrassed and ashamed of those individuals, in both private and public life, whose decisions and actions are devoid of any sense of character or morals; individuals who are only driven by what’s best for them … rather than what’s right … often times at the expense of many …. including our national security.

WHAT I AM … is a realist who understands that the terrorist attack that murdered hundreds of innocent Russian children could have occurred here, in our heartland. That’s why I sincerely believe America needs now, more than ever, a President who sees with a clear and focused vision and who speaks with a voice when heard by both friend and foe alike, is understood, respected and believed.

WHAT I AM … is eternally grateful to Ronald Reagan for having the bravery to speak out against Communism and the courage of his convictions in leading the fight to defeat it; and George W. Bush for the vision, courage, conviction and leadership he has shown in America’s war on terrorism amidst both the constant and vicious, personal and political attacks both he and his family are made to endure.

WHAT I AM … is a human being, full of numerous faults and failures, but a man nonetheless, who, though not always successful, has continually strived to do “what’s right” instead of “what’s easy”. A man who is challenging the religious leaders of all faiths, to not only preach to their congregations the fundamentals of “what’s right” and “what’s wrong”, but to also then hold them accountable for their actions in both the public and private sectors.

WHAT I AM … is disgusted with the Courts who, on one hand, call the murder of a pregnant woman a “double homicide” but then refer to the abortion of her baby as, “pro-choice”.

WHAT I AM … is someone deeply troubled by a political party which embraces a candidate whose primary “leadership” qualities center around his protesting of the Vietnam war and his labeling the honorable men and women who fought in it, (50,000 of whom gave their lives in that action), as rapists, and war criminals. That same political party then stepped forward this year to block the appearance of a true Vietnam war hero, retired Admiral and former United States Senator, Jeremiah Denton, (a man who spent seven years and seven torturous months in a North Vietnam prison), from speaking before an open session of the California legislature as part of that state’s 4th of July celebration. The reason Democrats gave for refusing to allow this American hero to speak before their state legislature was because of the “conservative” nature of his views. As an American, that troubles me deeply ….as well it should you.

WHAT I AM … is a man who feels the need to spend, $104, 655.60,(tax paid) of his own money, to purchase this advertisement, in order to set the story straight. Some may say this money would have been better spent feeding the world’s poor. At the risk of sounding self-serving, as an American and as a Republican, for the last six decades of my life, I have done exactly that… and more. Following the examples of my parents and grand parents, I have used my earnings to feed the poor, shelter the homeless, provide housing for the elderly and medical care for the sick….. and continue to do so… and I’m not alone in that work.

WHAT I AM … is someone who is paying for this announcement, at my sole expense, in hopes of opening the eyes of those led blindly by ill-informed elements of our great nation, who, through either ignorance, or malicious intent, repeatedly attack and belittle those of us who belong to a political party that holds true to the belief, “… the rights of the governed, exceed the power of the government”. For those interested, I am speaking only as a tax-paying individual who is in no way associated with The Republican National Committee, nor with any of its directors, or delegates.

WHAT I AM … is a man who understands, “the American way of life” is a message of self-empowerment for all.

WHAT I AM … is an American who is grateful that our nation gives each of us the opportunity of self-determination and the right to benefit from the fruits of self achievement.

WHAT I AM … is an American who wants to preserve that way of life for all who seek it.

WHAT I AM … is blessed to be an American…. and proud to be Republican.
