How amazing is the LORD.  Let me share with you an amazing story about God and my friend, Brandon.

He was set to go on a mission trip to Bolivia with 9 others from our church.  They had trained and planned so much in order to go for a long time.   For weeks I had heard about plans to go and how much preparation went in.

Brandon, because of unforeseen circumstances, had to get one of his exams deferred and the write date was on one of the days that his trip fell on.  His school was being a big stickler about the situation.  It looked like he would not be able to go for quite a while but yet Brandon persisted.  Just this week, while it still looked like he would not be able to get out of his school exam (thus failing the course...which is a prerequisite for other needed courses) Brandon decided to stick with it.  He went to get his $180 yellow fever shot this week even though everything pointed to him not being able to go.

Tonight, at prayer meeting, Shannon (another person going on this trip) told us about Brandon's plight and how the person in charge of making this decision at York was on vacation for a month and they could do nothing to help him.  She told us how they had talked to everyone they could yesterday and had no luck.  The plane was leaving tm (Thursday) and tonight, Wednesday night, things were not yet resolved.  Tonight, at prayer meeting, we prayed for a miracle.  I really felt God speaking to me tonight when we prayed that.  I felt him telling me that as soon as we were done to call Brandon and tell him not to worry and to check his email.  I was assured by God that he would work things out.

After prayer meeting I called Brandon.  He was out and was busy but called back later.  I felt weird telling him, but I said check your email.  He asked what it was about, I told him just to check it.

About half an hour ago I got home and talked with him.  He said that he got home and checked his email and received an email from his prof giving him permission to go on the trip and write his exam at a later time.

We prayed to God.  Before Brandon even got home, God told me that he had worked things out.  God answered our prayers.  God works amazingly in his time.

Hey guys, take a look at this.  It's a great interview

I love my mumsy.  The other day (Thursday night) I was sleeping over at a friends house.  I had neglected to tell my parents, and figured that they had grown accustomed to it.  In the news the next morning, it was reported that someone was killed at Kennedy station.  My mom, not hearing from me that night, left three messages on my cell phone.  I had it on silent of course (which probably did not help to alleviate her concerns).  What a great mumsy I have!

So, in order to procrastinate more from studying for my exams, I decided to dowload pokerstars again.  Anyone else play, or want to play with me?

I had a really pressing topic to discuss on here, it came to me last night before bed - and now I have forgotten it.  Alas, you, my faithful readers, will have to do with this mediocre post.

BTW, if anyone wants to join a co-ed, semi-competitive softball league this summer, let me know and you can join my team.

Today, I had my last class, last test and last assignment of the most abismal semester of my university career thusfar.

I decided to take advanced Greek next year.  Also, wondering which language I should take up next.  Languages are fun.  I want to learn a new one like every year.  That would be great.  Jack says I should take Japanese with him.  Any suggestions for languages to learn?

Wedding tomorrow (not mine).
I am reading through the bible in a year and I am currently on Genesis.  Reading through the story of Jacob.
Put the wedding tomorrow and the Jacob story both in my mind and you come up with this:

On Marriage:
I cannot believe that he worked for 14 years for his wife.  Now that is true love.  Jacob went to Laban cause he was not going to have a woman of Cannan or a Hittite woman like his brother but rather one of his own kin.  I think I have come to a similar conclusion - no more CABs for me.
Anyway, 14 years, I do not think that I would work for 14 years to marry any woman.  I was just thinking - no wonder Rachel was infertile by the time that they decided to have kids.  They got married 14 years after they met.  My friend, Norman, who is getting married tomorrow, has been dating for somewhere around 6-8 months now.  That is the way to do it.  I could never date for 10 years or 5 years as some people do before getting married.

I think I had about 8 heart attacks this weekend.  Could anyone ask for a closer finish?  Winning a must win 6-5 game in regulation (with some pretty fluky goals I might add).  Watching the Devils edge the Islanders into OT with a few seconds left on the clock and keeping the hopes alive for all Maple Leaf fans.  Then, of all things, a penalty, now 4on3 in the overtime period.  Then those unlucky devils had to take it to a shoot out - and of course Brodeur was not playing...then Islanders score, Devils score, Islanders score again, Devils miss, Islanders miss, its all up to the last shot...and a miss is recorded.  GAAAAHHHHH!  TWO YEARS IN A ROW!! WHY DO WE HAVE SUCH A HARD DIVISION!!

Yet, depsite this slight misery, today was a glorious day.  At our church, 28 new people from the three congregations were baptised and recognized by all as having joined God's family.  Many celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Today, things that are eternal live on, while the temporal wait for next season.  When I get to heaven, I want to see some angels pulling off some sick goals that will put TSN's highlights of the week to shame.
