After the glorious craziness of Christmas, and ensuing insanity, I have time to post! Huzzah! Now what to say? Well Christmas is an excellent place to start. Most notably I received from my family,
a) a radio adapter for my mp3 player (ooo yeah)
b) a new shoulder bag (which holds anything and everything, It makes me feel like Mary Popins.)
c) an antique necklace (didn't see that one coming)
d) deliciously soft and cosy winter gloves (which I now wear 24/7)
In other news: I watched the Callihan wedding LIVE! It was a beautiful and unexpected pleasure. I'm still getting a kick out of seeing "Mrs. Wells Classroom" on Webex.
Proving I am a glutton for punishment, I auditioned for 'The Importance of Being Earnest' wondering why on earth I was going through all the extra stress. But, *gasp* I got a part! And am now rehearsing as Lady Bracknell. (oh and pictures from 'Annie' are soon to come)
What with visiting family, the New Year, and school starting up again, I haven't had much time. But now things are slowing down and I have time again which is nice. I watched 'Singing In The Rain' for the first time and have joined generations of Gene Kelly fans. At least I'm not alone in my adoration.

I'll sign off with a hilarious bit of cleverness. Have any of you heard of 'Book-a-Minute'? I'm sure you have. Well here's their abbreviated version of 'The Odyssey.

Odysseus
I rule.
Poseidon
For your sin of pride, I curse you for all eternity.
(Unfazed, Odysseus boards his ship and sets SAIL for Greece, where his family is awaiting his RETURN from Troy. A STORM happens, and it drives them off course into the MEDITERRANEAN, where they come upon a strange LAND owned by the giant Cyclops POLYPHEMUS who eats some of the men ALL UP, but then they ESCAPE. Still lost, they run into the island of the sorceress CIRCE who turns some of Odysseus' men into ANIMALS, and it takes YEARS before they escape, and then they sail by some singing SIRENS, but they can't hear because they have STUFF in their ears. Then they come upon an island where there is a field of HERBS, and they all get HIGH, until Odysseus says it's time to GO. Then Odysseus' men let a WIND out of a BAG, and some more men DIE. And they sail on to HADES to talk to some DEAD people, and some more men DIE. And they steer the ship between the six headed monster SCYLLA and the torrential whirlpool CHARYBDIS, and Scylla makes some more men DIE, and Charybdis makes the rest of them DIE. Then the ship busts up into a JILLION pieces, but Odysseus is SAVED by the nymph Calypso who confines him to her ISLAND because she thinks he's HOT. Then years later she lets him GO, but Poseidon is determined to terrorize him FURTHER. And then SUDDENLY Odysseus has an IDEA.)

Odysseus
Poseidon, I am sorry.
Poseidon
Ok, you can go home now.
(Odysseus goes home.)

THE END

  Cats Photos!

Here they are! Click to enlarge.

All cast photo, you'll forgive me if I don't label every person in this picture

001

Mungojerry and Rumpelteazer

Yours Truly! And no that is not my hair, that is a wig.

188

A crowded pic of the opening part of a dance routine. There doesn't seem to be any pic of us in full dance, they probably turned out as multicolored blurs. Oh well.

182

An example of the make up.

It's a little early for an Autumn theme...

...but who cares! It's September, Schola has started again, and it's already getting cooler. The year only gets better from here.

The site's very brown I know. But I love brown, it makes me think of coffee, velvet, Autumn, corduroy, leather, and chocolate. Oh yeah. Brown is a good color.

Drum roll...

...I am POSTING!!! Not only that but for the second day in a row! Ladies and gentlemen, please try to contain your amazement, it can all be explained. I was commanded by the very hip Jazzamo, may her coolness rock on, and so shamed by everyone's amazement at my blog springing to life again that I posted. So now all I have to do is figure out what to say.
First off, I performed 'Cats' four times this weekend. We had a good crowd every time, and it went pretty much without a hitch. Okay so the percussionist forgot a cue, and we had one or two falls, but no one noticed, and hey I was fabulous...yeah so I only had two solo lines other then my dance routines...are you implying something? Well, I still had the coolest costume, so there.   (pictures to follow whenever I get them)
Anne is still in New York. It is extremely frustrating to find something really cool, like say the Prince Caspian footage, and not have anyone to go all fan girly with. I just can't walk up to anyone else I know and say "Caspian is HOT!" They'd take me too seriously and then were would I be? Yep, in counseling. Bless sisters, the only people who can help us deal with reality.  I've ordered two classic fantasy books, The Wood Between The Worlds and Jurgen. They should be here by next week. What's also very gratifying is that I FINALLY got music to play on my site! This is one of my favourite songs, High by James Blunt.

Well ya'll I've sufficiently salved my conscience, so I'll be popping off. But I will be posting soon, even if it's just random pictures.

P.S. In case you didn't notice I've been playing around with some smileys, here's the link to the page I'm using, http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b160/treebearding/Smilies/?start=0
