I myself have been strongly on "the against gay
marriage" platform for a long time for religious reasons. For me that's
a good enough reason, but as I reached high school and my debating
became more frequent in social situations, I began to more and more see
that my bible verses weren't cutting it to today's audience. So I began
to research. Many have tried to make homosexuality "ok" by researching
possible genetic connections. Now while many claim to have made
breakthroughs, can we really say that these results are firm evidence?
I dare to say no because, though I believe in creationism, I look at
this at an evolution stand-point. Evolution fundmentals are "survival
of the fittest." Therefore one must adapt and evolve to survive.
Humanity is not, as evolutionists and myself believe, excluded from this
fact. Evolution can also affect the way an organism reproduces. So
where in Darwin's law could it possibly be true that homosexuality is a
product of the evolution of human genes? To me Homosexuality, if
anything, in a Darwinian retrospect de-evolution. Dare we celebrate the
union of a weaker evolution of the human specie through the union of
marriage?

I responded, "sure, what will we be doing?" And of course the answer neither he nor I could deny was "reek havoc on Lake Zurich." I went to my slumbering mother to inform her of my plans. She simply responded "who's JJ and doesn't he have a curfew?" I mumble something most inaudible even to me and went out the door to the await ride that was JJ. We then rambled about the wide spread urban sprawl that is Lake Zurich and then came to the conclusion that we should do something a little more structured. So I came up with TPing Kurt's house. WE drove into the Dominck's taking the time meet and greet a young Kelly Smith and Alex Johnson briefly in the parking lot. We walk in and find ourselves before an array of choices...two-ply...etc. but only a certain brand was good for this job. The type so cheap no one would dare wipe their butts with it without knowing a possible irritation. We Select a four pack for $1.19 and buy four of those, so for those failing and basic elementary school math, 16 rolls of toilet paper. we thne proceed to do the deed of TPing Kurt's house. Following such we called his phone saying "JJ and I have left a present for you in your front lawn." Kurt came out and we honked and left. We then turned around a proceeded to have him join our gang of miss doings. we then proceeded back to the Dominick's parking lot and "humped the curb" JJ's Car. a couple of people on the other side of the parking lot began to watch and, without our encouragement, join us in "humping the curb." I of course got very excited and we went over to make friends. They asked what we were doing we told them we bored. They said it had to be that or we were High. WE didn't know what to do. They listed to us various activities, they told us the were going to bake. We asked to join and they disinclined. So we continued to the prominade. Where Kurt and I and never ventured so we walked it, read every plaque on every bench, and made sure we knew where we by the very significant medallions on every other fence post. We then drove down to my neighbor hood where we threatened to knock down trash cans and did not, and then went in my house and JJ hit on random Buddy's on my Buddy list. They left and to my dismay tipped my recycle bin placing my garbage bag up top of it. it is now 2:22AM

train to our next destination...Hakone. Hakone appeared to me a little
older than the rest of Japan. While were there we visited the Second
largest Buddha is the world. We walked in side it and then came out to
make us feel reborn. I didn't feel very reborn, but...meh. We shopped
around the little town which was adorable! We then went on a little
cruse on lake Ashii and went up on a cable car ride to MT. K... where
we were supposed to see Mt. Fuji but it was too foggy all we could see
was the slightest sillouette where it was supposed to be, but it was a
fub journey to see the shrine whihc was very isolated feeling on top
the mount. Eventually we came to our hotel.
This was an experience in itself. The hotel rooms were set up like old
row houses where we had to take off our shoes upon entering with straw
mat floors and a little table we sat on the floor and had tea at. At
night we had to roll out our beds. It was really cool. At the hotel we
had to wear robes around which I didn't mind because they were so
comfortable. But most of exciting of all were the hot springs. This
hotel had it's own hot springs which thankfully were segregated by
gender. I did them twice and omg they are so worth it!!!!! I felt so
refreshed to mention I did the outside ones and the atmosphere for them
was so zen. The Hotel also gave you the option to take a hot soring
bath in the room because that pump the hot spring water right into each
hotel room. The whole hotel was surrounded by a very zen Shinto
enriched atmosphere. There was a little shrine all the way on top of a
hill cover by tree and little by paper lamps all the way up the stone
stair path. It felt like as you went up you were leaving the normal
world and entering a spiritual world. Just out side there was also a
water fall and koi pond where you step out in the middle on stepping
stones. I love sticking my toes in and waiting till the tiny little
minnows kissed my toes. I n the pond were also bigger koi. There was
this one ginormous koi (biggest I've ever seen) that would come to you
if you splashed in the watter and then pet it. Dinner that night was
interesting too. Were fed an ultra-traditional Japanese meal. Fish
anyone? There were so many types of fish (some with faces XP) that no
one knew where to begin. There was one little crab on everyone's plate
that were were supposed to eat, but he was so cute I named him instead.
It was Jacob.
The next day we left for Tokyo. We took a bus to Odai they newest man
made Island and took a ferris wheel ride. Then we got to play in the
mall. I went in the mini amusement park called Joypolis. It was
amazing! lol and all very Japanese. Then we wandered a few shops. After
that was a buffet dinner nothing special and then went headed for our
hotel. The next day we went started our day on top of the metropolitan
building to see the view of Tokyo. We also got a little bus tour and
saw where the imperial palace is, and then visited Meji shrine. The
shrine to the only emperor turned god. After that we went to Asakusa
the oldest district in Japan and hung out in the bazaar. It was very
hot. then we headed to dinner which was Tempura and then our hotel.
Following that day we went to the Edo Tokyo Museum and luckily found
ourselves and English speaking guide. there were lots of little facts I
learned and artifacts to see. Then the moment we all waited for was of
course Harajuku, tokyo's shopping district. We spent much our time on
Takeshito street which is famous for it's reasonably priced teen
shopping! We also visited what is known as Kiddie Land which is like a
toy store, but appeals to teens and adults as well. We spent Five hours
there. After that we had Hot pot for dinner and then wen to see and Act
of Kabuki theatre. finally we returned to our hotel and slept after a
very long day.
Today`s Journey

Today we ventured off to Nara via Japan`s fabulously complicated but convinient train system. Nara was the capital of Japan prior to Kyoto. The Reasdon for the move was Religon became too powerful there and threatened the Japanese goverment. Nara is home to many many deer, that have grown verily accustomed to the people and the traffic. They will come right up to you, and you can feed them. They are considered to be gifts from the gods and bring good fortune to Nara. In this same park we visited a shrine that is home to the Worlds lagest buddah, he is made of copper and covered entirely in gold. It was soo awe inspiring. We took lots and lots of pictures. At the shrine we signed a roof tile in name of the Girl scout council and it will be placed on the roof as a part of the roof restoration. And according to the buddist monks we will be granted eternal happiness. there was a large hole in on of the pillars which was approximately the size of the Buddah`s nose. And most of us crawled through it for good luck.

Following Nara we took the train back to down town Kyoto and did what we girls do best shop. There were lots of shops with funky clothes and bought a kawaii (cute) skirt and equally kawaii shirt. Some of the girls bought Kimono`s Ranging any where from $40 to $400. And some authentic sandals as well. Just travelling through the town gave areal feel of what Japan culture and life was like. It`s very safe traveling around Japan. People are very polite and keep to them selves very little crime. Not to mention the men are very shy and wont realyl harm a woman. We went looking for Geishas or geikos as thier called here all through Kyoto, none would lets us take pictures though since they didn:t have thier make up on yet.

Tomorrow we are taking the bullet train to Tokyo and seeing Mt. Fuji.

Japan Thus far

We arrived in Osaka, Japan at about 4:30PM on the 16th of June (Japan time so it was about 2AM your time) and went through customs painlessly. We took a bus to our Hotel in Osaka which was about an hour away trust me that was a long drive because Jetlag is a bitch. We met our tour guide her name is Tomoe (pronounced Toe-moe-eh). WE the arrived at our first hotel and discovered the wonder that is japanese hotels....tiny. Could turn around without scratching someone]s nose. That night for dinner we had Japanese Hamburgers, which was pretty much meatloaf with a japanese twist and no bun. Then we went to bed cause frankly I only slept three ours at the most in the journey from 5AM on the 15th.
The next day we checked out and continued our Japan journey. We visited Osaka Castle which was gorgeous. Golden fish talsemen which cost 6 million yen each. After there we drove to Kyoto where we visited the Niyojin Castle where the famous last Shogun lived (shoguns are fuedal lords of Japan). The floors there wer constructed special so the wood would squeak and sounded like a nighting-gale. This was so you could hear someone coming and trying to attack. No sneaking into that house. Following that we went to see the Golden and Silver Pavillion where Shintism and Buddism live in harmony. THe Golden Pavillion is very literal in its name to the fact that the top to floors were covered entirely in gold sheeting. There were lots of little charms for sale to keep as good luck (shintoism) and little bowls you were supposed to throw change into with buddahs behind them (buddism) also fro good luck. After that we went to Another shrine that was only shinto. It was painted bright vermillion orange which means good luck. To go in though we first had to purify ourselves. So we walekd to a fountain where there were wooden spoons and had to poor the water all over our handa and then wet our mouths (not drink that:s gross) and the clean the spoon. To enter we had to step over a step because its bad luck to step on it (more symbolism and jazz like that) then once we gto in we saw the wedding hall and the preists and preistesses. We then went to the prayer hall and called to gods by bowing twice clapping twice and then bowing again then make a wish. THen saw what we could of a prayer ceremony. That was our last stop. THen we went to the hotle in Kyoto (the one I:m at right now) and then went to dinner and had a pancake like thing...pretty good...it was different for sure. Then we walked through a mall in kyoto which was exciting to see. and went back to our hotel to sleep.
Today we are off to Nara and free time in Kyoto.

Jamattane!

Saturday, June 02, 2007

Graduation tomorrow WOO! and you what that means? Relatives and little to no privacy. For the sake of seeing my family. No matter I how thankful I am to see them (especially my favorite Aunty from LA!!)) I Kinda miss being able to just crash out in my house. I sacrificed my room for my Auntie Em (yes I have an Auntie Em, yes like the wizard of Oz. I've called her that even before I knew of the movie). So I came home from work walk to my room per the usual and my Aunt is asleep...woops she woke I feel like a shmuck. it was muscle memory acting since my stuff was already in the Bathroom. OH well.

My mom thinks Kurt is afraid of my dad. LOL SHe keeps trying to get him to come over and meet the family I rarely get to see. When I don't invite him or we can't get together she assumes he's scared of my dad. WHAT?!? No I don't feel it nessecary for him to meet an Aunt I see maybe...once every four years..if I'm lucky. My grandma maybe, but come on. If he doesn't it's not a big deal we've only been dating two-three months. W/e I just think its realyl weird, but still a good thing because I think my mom likes Kurt because she never encouraged any other boy to come over aka KEvin (by the way she tells me she never liked him and she felt he was using me oh say... a and a half after he broke up with me?? Should mom's share these things?). lol. But in the end I think this is helping my open up to I don't talking abotu dating with my parents!! GASP after almost 19 years they almost got it! lmao...I'm really self conscious about it in case you all didn't know, but almost anyone other than my fam I'll give you the life story on it.

Well this has turned into a curiously more open post than I had intended, but does anyone really read xanga anymore. People I actually care about I think will read this and will possible honestly analyze this rant like prose I suppose. All for the better.

Giddy

Kurt tis adorable.... HE had already asked me to prom, but just asked. So I had been a little disappointed, but Kurt is just full of surprises what can I say? Not to mention when I told KAtie Jardine that he had only just asked she was getting on his case. But anyway.

I got home today after ushering and called Kurt. Cause he had called me but he didn't answer but 5 minutes later he ended up calling me back. Well then part way through our conversation. HE abruptly goes. Look at your front porch! And hangs up. But me not entirely understanding what he just said. I called him back. And he tells me again. SO I go. There's a Hershey kiss on my stoop. I go "Kurt...what'd you do?" so I follow the path. and there's a box at the end with my name on it. I open in up and there's a construction paper heart that says "now that I've kissed the ground you walk on, will you go to prom with me?" lol so I say yes of course.lol ^^

Kurt is just...chock full of cuteness

Epic Journey

well it took us forever to get there, but we got there!
