Well Memphis will be a change, but I am excited.  Hopefully found an apartment within blocks of campus.  I met with dr. Ferkin and the other grad students in the lab on Tuesday.  It's going to be a LOT of reading and writing.  And i am going to suck at first, but that's okay.  i'll get better with practice.  It is exciting that the lab is very geared towards publications, which means I will get my name out in papers almost immediately.

I probably won't see many of the sites around Memphis this time around, but I will have plenty of time to do that once I move here for good at the end of July.  I am excited and look forward to the changes.

My God, it seems like it has been eons since I last posted.  So much has happened, so I'll offer a brief synopsis.

July was highlighted by the last week of it really.  I turned the big 2-3 on the 25th.  Meh, it was nothing special.  The real celebration was on the 30th, when Andrea and Jeremy were wed.  It was an awesome ceremony and couldn't have happened to two more awesome people.  I also got to see some people I don't see much of.  I saw Levy and Scott and Ben and Kyle.  Many a good times were had as we danced to "Thriller."  That sums up July.

I moved into a new place with Jason and Jeremy, two high school friends, on August 15th.  It's a nice place and I like it so much more than Meadowbrook.  I registered for the GRE this past Friday!!!. I got one month to get ready, so it's go time.  I still got a lot to learn, but I'll be alright.  I will make more of an effort to post on here.

Go get "Late Registration," right now.  Kanye West's sophomore album.  It is pretty awesome.  His lyrics are different than a lot of rap out there. 

Congrats to all those who graduated yesterday.  It's hard to believe it's been a year since I made the glorious walk down the Hill.  I have to get back in the groove of studying and reclaim the title of "biology guru."  So I intend to study an hour a day.  I will review biology texts I own, look for grad schools I want to go to, read papers by professors I am interested in, or study for the GRE.  To increase my xanga posts as well as my bio knowledge, I will post an interesting or short bio fact.

Fact #1

There are two major types of questions when dealing with animal behavior,  proximate and ultimate causes.  Proximate questions deal with mechanisms within the organism (anatomy, physiology, etc) and ultimate questions deal with evolutionary aspects of behavior.

Things are going well around the apartment.  Bought some pots and pans along with silverware and other necessary housewares that we need since the two old roomies left.  Amanda is an awesome roommate.  It seems like I have hung out with her more in the past week and a half than I did in 9 months with Alissa and Maggie.  She is even going to be working at Best Buy, so that's awesome.  I even get 100 bucks for recommending her, so huzzah!

I still need to see Episode 3, even though I know some of the stuff that happens.  I really just want to see Obi-Wan kick Anakin's ass.

Haven't talked to Ashley in a while.  As is said, I just need to go big or go home, meaning I should just make a move or forget about it all together.
