| Two Championship RingsThe games have been summarised to death, and i think the only ppl who read this are also the same people who read the others. So for a comprehensive summary, go to Matty's or JC's xangas.
In quick summary, Blueballers won the championship on Monday in an all out solid performance. I think it was always in the bag. However, last night's Mushroom's game was much tighter. We were down for most, if not all, of the game, sometimes up to 7 behind i think. It just seemed to be pulling away from us. A miraculous three consecutive free throws by Matty (fouled on the 3-point line) tied the game with only seconds to go, and another miracle in the other team's main player missing both his free throws. 3 minutes of overtime. We just wanted it more, and deservingly got the victory.
Thanks to my teammates for helping me get two championships in my first season. I can only wonder how much enjoyment i have missed out on over the years not joining sooner...
| The Week in ReviewThis week i started my new term back at Westmead. So long to Mt Druitt Emergency, which was actually very comfortable and a lot of fun. Vascular surgery in Westmead is good because its surgery, and if i'm lucky i'll get to go to theatre every now and then. The bad thing for me is the 7-6ish days (might get longer soon), and being a paper monkey for most of the day. Westmead is also an enormous hospital, very easy to get lost, i always have to calculate whether its worth walking a long 5 minutes to my resident room to hang out for 15 minutes or just eat lunch on the wards.
Two semi finals wins, satisfying, even though my offense has been a bit lacking recently with lack of practice. Fortunately we have good offensive players to step up. Ken and I will aim for once a week trainings other than saturday with my regular hours now, anyone is welcome to join.
Great turnout at Timbo's drinks, nice to catch up with the long lost.
And finally, a lovely weekend off, my first in 10 weeks. Perfect bball weather. Had a haircut too, tried this new local guy out. An old European man who spoke broken english. The only barber in the whole shop, i thought i'd help out the business. Surprisingly good, but what will keep me coming back is the old school barbers blade he uses to do the sideburns and back. Wish i could have seen him sharpen in on a strap of leather. Awesome.
Every tried driving those long trips home in complete silence, music/radio free? If not, try it. Its wonderfully therapeutic.

| Why You Shouldn't Wear RingsI like to think i'm pretty tough. Well at least immune to gory, coz i see it every day and i'm supposed to be used to it right? But every now and then, even the strongest (yes thats me, the strongest!) can be set aback.
Yesterday as my shift was coming to a close a woman came in. She had fallen off a ladder, not too high i presume. Unfortunately her ring coz caught in the ladder, and guess what happened? We call it a degloving injury, because its like taking off a glove. Only the glove was her finger. It was definitely more than a little gross. If someone cuts off their finger with a saw its fine, nice clean edges, neat injury. But if it gets ripped off, it looks nasty.
Now i know why we dont play with chain nets at bball.
| Car accident yesterday just at epping station (epping rd). Some idiot was stopped in the middle of the road for no reason just after that bridge. Had to brake reasonably hard. I dont think the guy behind me even hit his brakes. Totalled his bmw. My poor monaro actually did quite well considering how hard he hit me, but the skirting was against the back wheel. And my twin exhaust was mangled.
Anyway so the sad news she's outa commission for the next wk or two, bak to the trusty bus (as in the nimbus).
On the up side Fort Minor was awesome yesterday. Drinks totally killed me though, but it was worth it!
| You know whats gross? Catching your dog drinking out of the toilet bowl. Its the first time that's ever happened, not even with my previous two dogs. I wonder how long this has been going on for.
And i usually let him lick me, too.
On a double whammer, i found a small ding on my car from where someone must have opened their car door on me. Think it happened at hills. Its not even just a scratch, its a little dent. As my friend once said in relation to ppl opening their car doors on other cars, "some people can be such f*#kers".
