Another Exciting Weekend!

Winter Jam 2007 at the Schottenstein Center on Friday, January 26th was pretty awesome.  Lights and sound galore!   I think my favorite was Hawk Nelson.  A pretty awesome performance. 

Then Snow Tubing at Mad River Mountain on Sunday for the Sunday Knight Special was cool  (really cool!)! In fact your face froze on that first time down.  It was quite a shock but after that it didn't seem as cold.  I like the magic carpet ride to the top.  I wish they made it a little bit longer so you didn't have to walk so far but it was bad at all.  I am glad we were there while the sun was still up cause it was getting really cold when we were leaving.   For those that missed it you missed a great time.  Before we left we had cup cakes to celebrate Cheryl Spencer's birthday.  The cup cakes were delicious!  Thanks to Mrs Cathy!  Seemed like my van sang songs all the way home with the help and to the enjoyment of Susan Plemons (pastor's wife).

Thursday, February 1st, 6:00 p.m., we will be feeding the Fairborn HS Guys Basketball and Cheer teams and their coaches in the Fellowship Hall.  We will need folks to help set up, serve and clean up.  Please sign up so we will know how many of you plan to help.  We also need folks to bring desserts.

Senior High Lock-In

Our Senior High Lock-In is February 2nd - 3rd.  Starts at 9 p.m. on Friday night and finishes up on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m.  Cost is $10.  Sign up so we will have an idea of how many to expect.

True Love Waits Commitment

Service is February 11th in the 6:00 p.m. worship service.  TLW rings need to be ordered no later than Sunday, January 28th.

WOW!  What a weekend!

Pastor Ron and his wife Susan are here and this past weekend Pastor Ron was installed as the FBCFairborn 11th Pastor!  We had a great Sunday with the 11:00 am service and the fellowship afterwards.  The word is approximately 220 stayed for the sitdown lunch (there were not enough seats for everyone and some just sat on the floor and had a picnic.  The spirit was great!  The turnout was awesome considering the weather.  Even the evening serviuce was well attended for the weather conditions.  Pastor Ron now says he now understand the term "hearty mideasterners".

Pastor Ron and Susan Plemons 

 Our new pastor arrives in the area today and will be with us this Sunday, January 21st for his first Sunday.  Don't forget about the welcome luncheon this Sunday after the 11:00 a.m. service.

Happy New Year!  It's January 3, 2007 and there is lots planned for this month and the months to come.  We begin this month this Saturday with our service project.  We will be working around the church from 10:00 am till 1:00 pm.  Next weekend, January 12-13,  is the Junior High (7th - 8th grade) Lock-in. 

Junior High Lock-In

The lock-in you Junior Highers (7th—8th grade) have all been waiting for.  We start things off Friday night at 9:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.  Have your parents drop you off at the back kitchen door.  We will be playing some games (including underground church) and bowling.  There will be pizza and pop.  It only costs you $10.00 per person.  Don’t forget to take some flyers to invite your friends.  The youth that brings the most unchurched friends will win a prize  We will also have door prizes (CD’s and t-shirts).  Sign up today so we will have an idea of how many of you to expect.   

New Pastor Comes!

Then on Sunday, January 21, our new Pastor, Ron Plemons and his wife Susan will start their ministry  here at FBCF.   There is no 8:30 am service that day and the 11:00 am service will be a very special service to kick things off.  Immediately following the service we will have a church-wide fellowship to welcome Pastor Ron and his wife..

We will finish up the month with two more events.  WinterJam 2007 on Friday night January 26th and the Sunday Knight Special on Sunday night, January 28th at 5:00 pm in the Youth Wing. 

WINTERJAM 

Friday night, January 26th, we will be going to Winter Jam 2007 at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.  We will be going to see Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsong, Jeremy Camp, Sanctus Real, Hawk Nelson, Britt Nicole, and the speaker is Tony Nolan.  Cost is $10.00  (cash only please) per person.  Van will be departing 5:15 p.m. and we should be getting home about 11:30 p.m.  You will need to bring some extra money for food.  Please sign up so we will know how many to expect.

Busy week and weekend coming up.  Tons to get ready for.  We have a Community -wide Good Friday Service at noon and then off to get ready for counseling at the NutterCenter for YEC.

YEC is coming up this weekend!  We are going to be staying here at FBCF overnight with Jersey Baptist Church.  About 200 all together!  Going to have pizza at 11 pm for 200 and breakfast at 7AM.  Should prove to be an interesting night?  I still have a few extra tickets.

Our next Sunday Knight special is Sunday, April 23rd.  We will be going laser tagging at Laser Quest.  Cost is $10 per.
