New Entry

Haven't made a new entry in awhile.

On break from Accounting 409. Not much has been going on.

Spring Break was lame; I worked, did projects and slept. Boo =( Not very relaxing.

I've been researching Law Schools a lot. My top realistic choice is Boston University, but my LSAT score is slightly below their minimum quoted score. I mostly wanted to go to a Boston school because that's where I want to practice law, and it would make it easier to already learn in the state I'll practice in.

My second choice is Pepperdine; obviously a well-known and good school still. I fall within their minimum quoted score for LSATs, so I have a good chance of getting accepted. The cons about Pepperdine are that its a religious school (and I don't know HOW religious, it might be uncomfortably so) and its in California and I wanted a school in the Boston area.

That's all there is to update on. Sad my life, right?

LSAT scores are in

Got a 157 which is the 72nd percentile. Pretty good score. It will probably get me into a decent law school

Overall, I'm happy with the score. I was aiming for around a 160, but 157 is close to my higher scores, so if I took it again, I risk doing worse.

Stock Market Crashes

So today the US and Chinese stock markets crashed, yay!

Chinese stocks went down an aggregate 10% in one day and US stocks went down about 4%. This is significant because

1.) Chances are the government will institute monetary policy to stimulate the economy that will result in a higher government deficit and probably higher taxes down the road.

2.) The US and Chinese stock markets were considered to be independent and the fact that they both crashed on the same day gives evidence that they may be interrelated. It gives significance to the global economy which means we may need to start worrying about foreign policy just as much as US policy since it might start to affect us just as much.

Yep.
