| If you don't use your brain cells, give them to me.The subject goes without saying what this post is about. She's coming with us for the trip on August 2. I really don't mind her presence; I really don't. She's a friend, and I'll try to treat her with as much respect as possible, and I'll give her credit as much as possible under certain circumstances. But this, this is truly... I can't find a word for this.
The other day, during our registration at the traveling agency, she handed out her discount card. The representative said that he'll call her for confirmation of the card and also as a reminder. He took down her number because she used her card, and he took mine because I'm the one paying for everyone to make it less of a hassle (others are paying me back). A few hours ago, our online conversation went like this: - Her: The traveling agency said they'll call for a confirmation. Do you remember when? - Me: I believe the guy said a few days before the trip. - Her: If they can't reach me, do you think they'll call you? Because I'll be at work all day. - Me: You gave them your home phone number or your cellphone? - Her: Home, unfortunately. I'm working long hours the day before, and again the one before, and I also have practice the one before. It's like impossible to reach me. - Me: (Why didn't you just give your cellphone number?) If there's anyone home when the call comes, tell your family to give him your cell number to reach you. - Her: Yeah, I hope. But do they have your number in case? - Me: yeah. - Her: Ok, that reassures me a little. - Me: Next time, give them your cellphone number. - Her: yeah, but I don't like giving my cell number to a stranger. - Me: (WTF?) It's an agency that'll try to reach you. It's not just any stranger. - Her: I don't know him. - Me: (Which part of "reaching you" don't you understand?) He's a stranger with whom you're making a deal with. - Her: Then next time, I'll give my cellphone. - Me: (Calm down, just take deep breathes) You see, because he needs to confirm something with you, it's always better to give him a contact that he'll be able to reach you more easily. - Her: ok. - Me: (She didn't get nor understood anything I wrote)
Gosh, if you said that you gave your home phone number by instinct, I'll accept it. But that was pure lack of judgment. A stranger? You don't like giving your cellphone number to a stranger? Fine, but that's an agency. Seriously, when I read the line "I don't know him", I flipped off my chair and hurt the back of my head. Please, say something that for once it would make sense and mature. I really can't think of anything that can cause this girl to think and say things like that.
| Random thoughts, ideas, stupidity, whatever you want to call themEver since I started taking Japanese classes, my energy level has been nothing but going downhill. I come home at a fair time, but after taking a shower and all, I sleep around 1am. I normally don't sleep at that time for more than 2 nights a week. Now, make that 4. I'm having a lot of trouble just getting off the bed. But at least I'm learning, a lot that is. I said it before and I'll say it again: "I'm glad I didn't skip this level." I completed my second week, and I'm comfortable in reading and writing the pronunciation characters called "Hiragana". There are 71 hiragana and I haven't been able to remember them all. My memory is not as sharp as it once was, so I developed a new way of memorization: write Japanese words in hiragana. This way, when I hear the sound, I would remember it as part of a known word and the character will surface in my mind. It worked out really well. Still, there are some that are tricky, but with time, I'm sure it'll be as natural as English and French.
Today, my dad asked me when the car will be delivered. When I bought it, the salesman did mention that it can take in between 3 to 5 weeks. I've waited for over 3 weeks already, but I've waited this long, I don't mind waiting for a little longer so as long as it's in excellent condition. Then my dad started saying things like "what if a customer wanted the exact same thing as you and is willing to pay more? That customer will probably get it before even though you placed your order first." I was annoyed. I mean, look, it's quite possible and there are such cases as well. If it did happen, what can you do? I'm getting that car no matter what, so stop worrying for things that you do not have control anymore. And if you wanted to sit in a car that we own, why did you wait for this long? You could've got a decent one as well, yet you never raise your voice. You keep complaining about this and that, but you always let others do things for you.
About that girl, yeah, I know some of you wanted to hear more. It's weird. We chatted early this week and she said "I wanted to apologize for my behavior." I was really shocked. She said that she shouldn't have interrupt right in the middle of my explanation. She blamed it on her hyperactiveness because everyone was gathered and that she was excited by that. I had so much trouble trying to make sense based on that, and you know what, I still have no idea what she was trying to say. I just told her to forget about it as she didn't do anything wrong.
