So here I am, in Bali, Indonesia for one of my good friend's wedding. I hardly get a chance to come on here because it's blocked in China, but as I've said before, any change I get I will write. Have you been to Bali before? We just spent this afternoon watching the sunset. Truly majestic.

I'm here for a week... do any of you want me to send you a postcard? If you do, send me a message.

Lots has happened since I wrote last...

- promotion at work
- helped raise 13 million for the earthquake victims with Jet Li
- dating a new girl (she is mad tall...)
- good friend getting married (that's why I'm in beautiful Bali!)
- resigned my rental lease for my place
- got my driver's license in Hong Kong
- got new sunglasses (just cavalli)

Ok, so not the most exciting but life is always changing here in Shanghai... I miss my friend's in TO though, so this winter, I'm thinking of going back to hang out for a month...

I just had a lunch with a client today. I realized though, that instead of talking mostly about work, the conversation involved more of her problems in life. This is also quite consistent across my relationship with a few of my other close clients. Of course, as a supportive person, I tried to give her advice but it definitely made me realize that more often than not, as someone who works on accounts with people, they want to talk about their personal problems with you. Is this rare or sound similar to you?

Valentine's day today... happy valentine's. It's been a while since I spent it with a significant other. Everyone seems to blast this special day. I agree that it's become over commercialized, and that people should celebrate their love for loved ones every day, but what's wrong with a special day? Besides, it gives a small break to the daily routine.

Happy Chinese New Year. I wish you and your loved ones a prosperous and healthy year of the Rat.

I'm feeling that this year will be quite good, hopefully it will end better than how it did last year. What a shocking ride the year of the Pig was. As you grow older, perspectives and outlooks seem to change. I'm 30 already, I remember thinking before how old that actually was. Reality check.

More randomness...

I've realized that when I write, it is very hard for me to keep a coherent train of thought for more than a few sentences. I am not sure whether it is to keep it simple for the reader or whether I have neurological deficiencies. Regardless, they both seem subconcious until I realize what I've written upon review of my text.

I'm in HK again for a few days. Thanks for the proxy tip Toby.

I've been harping about this movie for a while, I'm glad it's coming out in HK, there's a 9:50am showing that I was tempted to see... http://www.jumperthemovie.com/.

I just got my HK drivers license. I'm told that with it, I can get a PRC license much easier. If you have a license from another country and a HKID, you can get one too. I don't know how well I'll do driving on the other side of the road though... and the roads here are so much more narrower than Canada.

I've been reading this book, The Dragon and the Foreign Devils, China and the World, 1100 BC to the Present. It's not totally rocked my boat yet, but Chinese history is very fascinating. This book puts it in the context of China's interaction with the outside world.

And if you haven't seen it yet, you should watch CJ7... the actress in it is a hottie.

To Party in Hong Kong

I'm such a spoilt brat. I get annoyed having to line up at the clubs in HK. That's because in SH, I don't have to line up, don't have to pay cover, and don't have to deal with any BS. But in HK, it just ain't the same. So annoying.

Everything is on sale here in HK. I'm also fortunate enough to have several brands under my belt where I can call and ask for staff discounts since we've dealt with them on the mainland in one way or another. So I ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes, 5 pairs of pants, a winter jacket, a scarf and 2 dress shirts. With as much as 50% off, how can you go wrong?

But in HK, everything makes sense. Everything is efficient. Everything works out. There's still a ton of people though, and that's most annoying. Even though Shanghai is about 3 times the population, it's more spread out and less people go out. I don't know when I'll be back online again, but I miss being able to write on Xanga. I wish I could access it freely on the mainland, but Big Brother won't have any of it.

Happy new year everyone!

I'm back in Hong Kong, this time for a friend's wedding. Amy, you looked stunning, I am so glad I could be there to share one of the happiest moments of your life.

So many people have gotten married in the past 4 months:

- Oct - Tito and Carol
- Nov - Adam and Fredy
- Dec - Alton and Chloe, Cheuk and Madeline
- Jan - Ben and Amy

I don't feel the pressure yet, but my mom drops hints now and then. It seems so far away, yet I can't help but imagine that the next one might be the one that takes me down. Hahah...

I'm looking forward to a rocking time in 2008. Wealth, health and happiness to everyone.

It's Been Too Long

It's been a long long time since I last posted, I'm back in Hong Kong for a round of meetings, and will give a quick update. Many things have happened. Certainly, the biggest thing to have happened was Fendi's latest fashion show on the Great Wall. It took months of planning, and the people behind it worked tirelessly to make it happen. Arguably Fendi's and our company's crowning moment... pulling off the world's biggest fashion show was no easy task, but it certainly paid off.

Escape from Big Bro...

Every once in a while, I can escape Big Brother and get online... This is achieved through traveling to another country.

I got to enjoy Toronto last month, it was so good to be home. I really miss it and my friends... I suspect eventually I will end up back there. Life is great there. Living in Shanghai is sorta out of this world. Not reality you know? Champagne every weekend, fashion events, hanging with celebs...

1. The customs officer looks at you, your passport, then you, then back at the passport then you again and says "Where have you been all this time???"

2. You don't remember the airport that you left from.

3. You get lost driving on the streets you grew up on.

4. Your realize that the phone numbers you once had now belong to your friend's PARENTS.

One good thing though is that your friends are still the same. They even look the same, despite we're 7 years older, they don't really look aged at all.
