Another survey

What is your favorite CD at the moment? Hmm… not sure… Maybe Lifesong by Casting Crowns or The Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack.

What kind of car do you drive?  My parent’s.

What characteristics do you dislike? Flirtatiousness, vanity, selfishness, etc.

What are your favorite clothes? White skirt and probably any of my shirts (I can’t wear my white very often because it’s like a magnet to dirt, aka. I’m always getting something on it
).

If you could go anywhere in the world for a vacation where would you go? Lots of places. (That doesn’t count does it?) I guess probably Scotland would be pretty high up on the list.

Favorite brand of clothing? I don’t care the tiniest bit what brand of clothing I wear. I guess it does make a difference sometimes on how long the clothes last, but I have no idea what brands are better or worse.

Where would you want to retire?  I want be a mother… which means no retiring (not even when the kids are married though the job is easier then).

           Favorite time of day? Sunset

What is your favorite sport to watch? I don’t really have any interest in watching sport sports. I like watching my bros and Dad play softball though.

           Pepsi or Coke? No pop.

Beavers or ducks? Beavers, but I like ducks too.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? I’m not really either. I probably could be night owl, but I like the middle ground.

Any new and exciting news you'd like to share?  I’m getting married in three weeks.

What did you want to be when you were little? A mommy.

What is your best childhood memory?  There are lots and lots. One I was thinking of recently (since my Grandma died) was the couple of times when my older sister, my cousin, and I would all sleep over at grandma’s house.

Ever been to Africa?  Nope. I’ve never been out of the country.

Have you known anyone out side of your family for more than 6 years?
            Yep.

A word search on Happiness 2

Okay now it's time to find out what the bible has to say about happiness.

· Ecclesiastes 2:26
To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

In this passage (as in many others) it is clear that happiness is a great blessing. One to desired along with wisdom and knowledge.

· Proverbs 15:13
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

 · Psalm 68:3
But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.

 · Ecclesiastes 5:20
He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.

What more can you say !

· Proverbs 15:30
A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

 · Proverbs 17:22
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

 · Job 8:21
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.

 · Proverbs 10:28
The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

 · 1 Thessalonians 5:16
Be joyful always;

Always!!

· James 1:2
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

Now this one is a hard one, but very worthwhile when you succeed.

· Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

This is the ultimate picture of joy, Jesus who for the joy that was before him endured death, suffering, and shame .  What was that joy? That we (fallen sinful men that we are) could  be joint heirs with him. How many of us are willing to do that?

There is better way to end this post then with my signature verse:
·
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

P.S. All verses were taken from the NIV translation of  the Bible

Joy·ous -[joi-uhs] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –adjective joyful; happy; jubilant: the joyous sounds of children at play.

Happy generally suggest a feeling of great pleasure, contentment, etc. [a happy marriage]; glad implies more strongly an exultant feeling of joy [your letter made her so glad], but both glad and happy are commonly used in merely polite formulas expressing gratification [I’m glad, or happy, to have met you]; cheerful implies a steady display of bright spirits, optimism, etc. [he’s always cheerful in the morning]; joyful or joyous both imply great elation and rejoicing, the former generally because of a particular event, and the latter as a matter of usual temperament [the joyful throngs, a joyous family].

So with that in mind lets be Happy, glad, cheerful, and joyous today . More thoughts later.
