Goddammit, I always think of something to write here when I'm not online, and now I am I can't think of a thing to say. GRAH!

So many things to do for a summer vacation, so much time to do them in, but still I feel stressed. This is not right, is it?

Hang on a minute, listening to an awesome lyric, which I would print but will possibly be considered...horrible, I suppose. Ah fuck it, you've been warned.

    Jesse, bad boy,
Just come look at what your brother did
To that girl's precious little whore of a body.

Yeah. Doesn't sound like an awesome lyric when you see it written, but it's a proper sing along to listen to. And there's a story behind it too!

Anyway, I haven't been doing much outside my regular routine. I went down Bournemouth today, but that's hardly exciting. I'm gonna go and see The Dark Knight on Friday, which I'm incredibly excited about, given that ordinarily I don't give a shit about Batman. I get the feeling that I'll be going to see that on the big screen with as many groups of friends as many times as possible.

My parents have been married for 25 years in a couple of weeks, which seems astounding to me. We're throwing another garden party like we did last year, hopefully minus heavily drunken friends and crotch thrusting this year. Seriously, check my YouTube account if you've forgotten.

Bored now, so I'll finish up. Hope everyone who reads this is OK :)

  • It's Sunday night, which has pretty much become 'Xanga Night' of late. So here I am!

To be honest I'm genuinely not sure what to talk about tonight. I can't even fall back on Doctor Who anymore :-O Well, I probably could. But I'm not going to. Until Christmas

Know how many words I've written over the last few weeks? About 11,000. That's quite a lot! Considering how it takes me about 5 weeks to do a 1,500 word essay for Uni...

Speaking of Uni, I got my results for the year back yesterday. I got an average of 58, which is a 2:2, or a C if you prefer. It's quite annoying, actually, because a) that's only 2 marks off a 2:1/B and b) because I had more Bs, but a couple of Ds dragged the average down. Grr. Anyway, the first year doesn't actually count towards the degree, but I'm hoping to finish with an overall 2:1, which I'm, y'know, pretty much on course for.

That was pretty much the most interesting thing that happened to me this week, actually. Oh, I went to see Kung Fu Panda the other day. Don't bother. It's not that good. The opening's the best part about it, which I have to say has some of the best animation I've ever seen in my life. Kinda hand drawn anime style with a computerised twist. That bit's pretty funny, too. Then it just goes to the generic CGI and ceases being very funny. Oh well.

I'm getting obsessed with something new, for the first time since The Dark Tower grabbed hold with both hands two years ago (and admittedly hasn't let go yet ). That band I mentioned in a post the other day? Coheed and Cambria? Yeah? Well, them. I've never been so obsessed with a band/piece of music in my life. Thier first album, at least, is a grower. At first, I thought it was a bit shit, but now I'm actually making time to listen to it. Which again is something new for me. And it's persuaded me to change the CD in my car for the first time in, literally, a year. Honestly, the Foo Fighters CD that was in there for that time has started to grow mouldy. But anyway, Co and Ca are fucking awesome and I highly recommend you at least sample some of their songs on iTunes or something. I recommend their acoustic EP, which is like 3 quid, and is EPIC.

I'm gonna shut up now. Hope everyone's alright an ting.

  • I have to post my thoughts on the finale of Doctor Who. It is The Law, and as The Clash so bravely stated, that shall always prevail.

So. I genuinely am unsure about it. It was a good story, and pretty well written, but there was just something about it that didn't seem to gel too well with me.

Maybe it was the fact that it finished about 20 minutes too late, making the final act feel a bit boring, what with the whole tying up loose ends thing. I know there was a lot to tie up, but it just felt overblown to me. Full credit to 'em for getting The Doctor and Rose together at last, though, even if that version of the Doctor was a bit of a prick in a lot of ways.

So, yeah, two David Tennants. That was a neat little twist, and as ever DT's acting was top notch. I can't help but smile when he says stuff like 'Ah, that's better', after going through a 'fake' regeneration which probably almost killed him. I think that they should have used the second Tenth a little bit more cleverly though. Rather than have him run on too early and get himself taken out by Davros. Who I have to admit is probably the craziest character in the history of everything, ever. Crazy like a fox!

I wasn't too keen on the fact that the producers are still obviously too scared to kill a major character off. They did it in the first series: 'Oh noes! Captain Jack's been exterminated! Oh no, wait, he's now invincible. See, he's not actually dead.' They did it in the second series: 'Oh noes! Rose is about to get sucked into the Void! Oh no, wait, she's just trapped in a parallel universe. See, she's not actually dead.' And now they've done it again. 'Oh noes! They've been dropping hints about Donna's untimely demise for the whole series, and now she's fallen unconcious after a massive brain overload of information. Oh no, wait, she's just had her memory wiped, and her brain will implode if she ever meets the Doctor again. See, she's not actually dead.' See what I mean? I know this is a family show and all, but pretty soon there won't be any peril left whatsoever.

Also, this is the first episode of the new series (since 2005 or whenever it was) that there wasn't a cliffhanger at the end. Just DT doing his 'I'm so lonely' face that he pulls when he's upset. If there was a big bang at the end, I'd have no doubt enjoyed the episode a lot more, I'm just like that.

But there was one saving grace, at least. German Daleks. That scene had me bursting out with laughter all evening. Just the sheer silliness of it is absolutely mind bogglingly brilliant. I eagerly anticipate the French Cybermen in the Christmas special. If they're not there, I refuse to watch the show ever again. Ever.

    HELLO!!!

So. I genuinely don't know what to talk about, but want to talk about something. Same as usual then, eh? Time to create a few paragraphs which aren't really linked in any way. Heh. That actually sounds like the kind of film I like to watch.

I'm amazed at how busy I am. It's actually insane. I've been off for over a month now, and I can happily say that I haven't been bored once. Not at all. Which is like a new record or something. Reason being, in part, that I'm writing lots and lots. Shaped around that are my usual social activities. This week in particular has been particularly busy, but thinking back I don't seem to know why. I don't even know what I'm talking about now, so I'll move on.

Oh yeah, I'm a proper psycho. I might have mentioned it before, but every now and again I have a tendency to sleepwalk. Well, 'sleepanything', really. So sometimes I leave my room and walk halfway down the hall before coming to my senses. Other times I'll open my curtains and go back to bed. I remember doing this stuff the next morning but can't for the life of me remember why.

But anyway. I had my weirdest episode this week. Want to know what it is? I'll keep yu in suspense for another paragraph.

I started tearing my wallpaper off. As I'm writing this, there's a beam across my face celebrating the hilarious idiocy of it. I mean come on, what dream would seriously prompt me to start redecorating my bedroom? At 3 in the morning?

I've been listening to a pretty obscure band recently called Coheed and Cambria. I've got their song Everything Evil pumping in my ears as I write this. You know how some bands release concept albums? Well Co&Ca are a concept band. All of their albums feed into an overarching sci-fi story, which I find fascinating. Even though it's pretty hard to work out. I've never been very good of judging meaning from things, but it's got something to do with a virus, children killing, and the apocalypse. And the music's pretty damned awesome too.

Also, if you've never seen it, please please please check out the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Even if you illegally torrent it or something (not that I condone that kind of thing...). You actually have to watch it. I first watched it about a year ago or so, and have watched it something like 3 times in the last week. I can't get fed up with it.

    BYE!!!

(Hmm, that didn't work quite so well as at the beginning. Ah well.)
