Liquid - Loreal Liquid Eyeliner or Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner
So far these eyeliners, I have not had any problems with them smudging or melting or flaking. I have my eyeliner on from 8:00 am to 12:00 am, so they last a very long time. Harsh weathers like humidity and high heat.
For
me, eyeliner is all about line quality and defining the eyes. The line
should appear thinner from the start of your eyes, but gradually
thicker as it advances towards the corners of your eyes. You can even
extend it to give it that sexy cat eye look like I did right here.

Tips
These tips are not always true, but it is something I like to keep in mind.
Many are told to pull the eyelid to a taut to have an easy smooth canvas like skin to apply the eyeliner on.
But
I am not a big fan of this method, in fact I only tried it once and
loathed the idea of pulling and tugging at my precious collagen in my
skin that may in the future loosen the elasticity and sag prematurely.
(Yes I am very anal about skin and wrinkles)
So
I came up with a method to apply eyeliner without tugging or pulling.
Some girls just directly apply the eyeliner, but I find it hard to
maneuver around because the eyelids have many folds and skin textures
that you need to inevitable smooth it out to have an even surface for
the eyeliner.
So what I do is take a Q-tip and GENTLY press
into the skin to create an even smooth patch of skin for an easier
application for the eyeliner. This method does not loosen any
elasticity of the skin in your eyes, so it is very safe and gentle.
Give it a try
Ok so on with the next tip. If
you are one of those lucky gals or guys who have a VERY STEADY hands,
you can easily apply eyeliner in one stroke. I have very shaky hand (
and unless you have had many Many MANY practices with applying eyeliner
in one stroke and have perfected that method) . Usually shaky handed
people would have messed up and had to start all over again.
So instead of this one stroke method.
Try to use smaller strokes to create a solid fluid line. I made a gif
below to show you an example, but if you watch the video you can easily
see what I am trying to show you. Plus mistakes are minimal and very
fixable because you are in control of the line.
Smaller strokes
are better for people with shaky hands. It also helps create beautiful
line quality. When I am speaking about line quality, I mean the thick
and thinness of the line. The volume of it can really make a
difference. If you apply eyeliner with just one constant thickness, it
will look very boring, but if you apply it in smaller strokes and
create a thinner line in the start of the eyes, and thicker on the way
back it will create more depth and volume.
I like to apply
eyeliner starting from the middle to establish the thickness of the
eyeliner. The easy part is to apply the thin eyeliner in the front, but
the hardest part is to measure how thick the eyeliner should be in the
back. So establishing it first will really help you visualize how it
should look.
So lets get started!
Concealer and foundation should be applied on first to help the eyeliner last longer.
Pencil eyeliner
Take
the Q-tip and maneuver it around to help create a smooth surface for you
to work on with the eyeliner. It may look difficult in the photos, but
it is easier to do than what the photos show.
Start from the
middle, establish your main thick line, then extend it to the back,
from there work your way to the front and back.
Eyeliner pencil looks the most natural because of it's softer appearance.
Oh and the Q-tips are great to fix quick mistakes!
Cream/Gel eyeliner
Now with the Cream/Gel based eyeliner, you are going to have to need an angled brush.
Using the tip of the brush, dab it accordingly. Follow your natural lash line, get as close as possible! Cream/Gel eyeliners are the next most natural looking eyeliner. It can have a matte or glossy appearance.
Liquid eyeliner
Now
with liquid eyeliner (I find) that the line quality is much more
versatile than the rest of the eyeliners. I can easily create a thin
line then a very thick line. I prefer liquid.
The trick with
liquid eyeliner is to use every part of the brush. Start off with the
tip to create a very thin line, then use the flat side of the brush to
create a more dynamic thicker fluid line. It is very fun so I encourage
you to experiment. Have a bottle of eye makeup remover in hand because
mistakes will happen.
Wha La!
There
will come a time when you will become so good at applying
eyeliner that you will not even need a Q-tip or anything. For me, I
just directly apply it on without even flinching. I applying it in the
one stroke method. Practice makes perfect ladies, but since this is a
basic tutorial you will have plenty of time to get better!
