I am writing to advise you that an unauthorized intruder breached several 
computers on the Business & Financial Services network at the University of 
California, San Diego (UCSD) on the weekend of April16, 2004. The intruder utilized 
at least one of these computers for illegal file storage. However, these 
computers also contained some of your "private information," such as your name and 
Social Security Number. We very much regret that this unauthorized access 
occurred. This incident is under investigation and we have taken immediate steps 
to significantly reduce the likelihood of such an event in the future. The 
delay in sending this personal message to you is due to locating your most recent 
address.
