| The Future Has ArrivedWell, I know its been a longer span of time than I originally expected to keep you in suspense, but sometimes life puts you on rides that you can’t get off of until the ride finishes. In other words, I’m not in control of life, so I just have to “go with it.” :) However, y’all have been more than patient, so without any further ado, I will explain to you what new ride I’m getting on =D
You may be wondering why I have been posting western themed profile pictures, backgrounds, and updates, and possibly what brick wall I’d run into, or how much sleep I haven’t had. Or, you might’ve just chalked it up as “that’s just Tim.” Yet, this theme is no coincidence and no, I haven’t just recovered from a serious encounter with brick walls. Ever since mid-October last year, I have been tossing up the potential of pursuing an internship with CollegePlus! The benefits offered would include the equivalent of a full-ride scholarship, as well as a generous monthly stipend and a few other options. This seemed like a great idea until after Mom and I were able to seriously talk about it on the way back from our two week paradise in Colorado Springs. We were able to discuss the practicality of it all, and we pretty much decided that it would be in my best interests to find somewhere else to intern. I’d already put in my application, but I was confident that, should they call, I would thank them for their time, but that I would have to pass it up. That was two months ago, and as we’re all aware, God can do a lot in that time…a WHOLE lot. In this circumstance, He did. CollegePlus! did indeed call (on the 2nd week in January), and after the conversation with their Director of Admissions, I was completely not confident in my prepared-for position of “passing it up.” I talked with Mom immediately after the call and after 15 or 20 intense minutes of discussion, we realized that God was leading in completely opposite direction than we thought He was. She liked the idea, and was staunch in her belief that it was practically, as well as financially doable. Still, we wanted a firsthand account from my brother who is already there. He asked some good questions, but at the end, he too liked the idea and his general sentiment was “If you want it, go for it.” Since then, I’ve had two more phone calls with the CP! correspondent, one interview, and one follow-up call in which I was formally accepted to the position of Admissions Registrar, which I will assume on the 31st of March. The one very drastic change, is that the commitment is for a year…in San Antonio, Texas – thus the Western theme and the reason for "no coincidence." The other benefit I have not already mentioned accomodates me with an apartment, at no cost to myself. The monthly stipend will generously cover the other costs I will have to pay for – car insurance, gas, cell phone coverage, food, and some pocket-money. Because I’m still a dependent though, I have access to the military bases nearby, which will be most helpful in efficiently putting food on the table =) I will not be the only one in the apartment, but it will still be a completely new atmosphere to adjust to.
I very much appreciate all of the friendships I have with every one of you, and I will miss being near the people I know and love the most. I would be very grateful for your prayer support as I follow God’s leading, and pursue this internship in Texas. I would also appreciate prayer as I search for a dependable means of transportation =D As I'm sure you know, its not all that easy. For those of you who I know through debate, I know this will be especially hard, as I have already become “alumni,” but won’t be able to cheer you on at tournaments...I know only too well how much I will miss it, as well as the plethora of opportunity for stimulating fellowship. This has not been an easily decided decision, and I will miss y’all very much =( A great way to keep in touch with me would be through email, as I will have computer access pretty much 24/7. Also, some of y’all have my cellphone number, so feel free to give me a ring when you have time. If you don’t have my email or you would prefer phone conversations instead, message me on xanga, and I’ll be sure to get it to you.
Thank you again for being such great and endearing friends over the years – I don’t think I would feel near as comfortable leaving for this period of time if I didn’t have these relationships and know I would have encouragement through this time of transition. You guys/gals are the best friends I could have ever hoped for. Press on!

| Thursday's excitement is postponed until tomorrow afternoonAll,
I apologize for the inconvenience to your suspensefulness, but as it happened the the "surprise" will have to wait until tomorrow due to some complications of sorts. I promise I will unveil the excitement by Monday at the latest - but probably by tomorrow afternoon. Thanks so much! -TimE

| The first post of a new 18 year old! (I can now buy cigarettes!!! j/k)Yes, I know. Amazing isn't it? I am actually posting again!!! Lol. I know, I know, its way overdue, and y'all have been soooo patient with me. Thank you =D
Well, as I promised in my last post, the so-called "love life" was actually in reference to my brothers recent association with Grace Goforth. In case y'all are wondering, they are now an official "couple." They are currently courting with the full intention of getting married within the next two or so years (hopefully closer to the 'two or less' mark). We are all very happy about it, and in the time since the announcement in mid-December, we (my family) has had ample time to get to know her better and vice-versa. She is a very awesome person, and she and Chris make a very awesome couple. This is definitely a "God-thing." :) They were definitely meant for each other. So, long story short, Chris and Grace are together for the long-run. Go them!!!!
Since I last posted, Christmas, New Years and my birthday have happened, so I will address those.
Christmas - Woot[squared]! Christmas is always fun for the Moss family, and this year was no exception. Unlike last year, Joseph came home (with Katy) and spent Christmas and New Years with us! It was sooo much fun! We went and saw "I Am Legend" as well as "National Treasure 2," both of which I can recommend, but way more so of NT2 - that I saw twice. They're both good, but "I Am Legend" unfortunately suffers from what many book-turned-movie flicks do - i.e. it didn't live up to the books reputation. While it was a good drama in the sense that there was a good plot, good character and mostly good morals, it failed to deliver on the want-to-see-it-again benchmark. I'm still trying to pin down why this is... Anyway, enough about movies. Christmas was great! Despite the fact that I got Skittles-flavored lip-balm * cough cough * from some unnamed personage * cough cough * Lots of good times spent with family and friends
New Years For the past 9 years, the Wilson and Moss families have gotten together for food and fellowship and to celebrate the festivities of the New Year. This year was the 9th consecutive year we've done that, and it was bucket-loads of fun :) Since Joseph and Katy were together, and Chris and Grace were together, I had to suffer through the pangs of "singleness" with my friend Katie. We were in fact a "single couple." We've both known each other since we were two, and so there were no "awkward moments" as it were, but we both felt rather single, and so we both decided to help each other out =) New Years morning we had the traditional home-made donuts from Chris and then * sniff * Katy had to leave at noon. The rest of the day was spent playing cards, talking, and generally having fun. After watching "Ratatouille," the Wilson's departed for their abode around 6ish.
Birthday - total surprise! Life was normal for Timothy Edward Moss at approx. 9:20 on the morning of the 26th, also known as his birthday. However, 15 minutes later, he was in total shock and almost epilepsy. Friends from Maryland and Georgia, as well as some local friends, showed up on my doorstep with me completely unaware of the situation. The next thing I knew, I was spazzing out, trying to account for the familiar but completely unbelievable camera flashes. Yeah, it was awesome. Apparently, Bri Hendrickson had been planning this for awhile and it so happened that all of them were able to show up for birthday breakfast! IT WAS SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! The rest of the day, we did a favor for Grace (waving signs on Coliseum Dr. for Mike Huckabee), ate lunch at a Seschyuan/Mongolian Buffet place, and then went bowling! * happy sigh * Friends are so awesome... Oh yeah, and I got like 50 or so people posting on my Facebook !!! I also got some of the nicest, most genuine emails and e-cards from the bestest people in the world - THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE =D Needless to say, it was the most amazing birthday ever =D ...despite the momentary periods of insanity ;)
"To infinity...AND BEYOND!!!" This week is going to be really crazy for a few reasons I can't tell y'all yet (wait 'til the Thursday post - some of you already know) so I would just ask if y'all would keep me in your prayers... Lots of stuff is going to be happening...
Well, as much as I would love to put more up here to account for my absence, sleep awaits impatiently. To all those who I have failed to keep up with over xanga, I sincerely apologize and I promise to do my best in the future on staying up with your lives. Lord-knows you've done more than your fair share. So thank y'all for listening, and I hope the length doesn't keep you from seeing how the Lord has really blessed me and how faithful He is to His people. God Bless! -TimE

| RR's, TX and "romance."*Scholasticality - an arrival at an important time in ones education* Well, some person * coughRachelcough * recently told me to update, and talk about some recent things that have been going on in my life. As of now, I am 9 weeks (plus the two weeks of Christmas break) away from finishing my high school career! * enter the applause * Yes, yes, well, I have been looking forward to this point, because its another significant period in the time line of life. Next stop after graduation is start/finish degree. I'm really looking forward to that. I believe I have settled on a Communications Degree with a minor in Entrepreneurial Business with CollegePlus! at the same time getting a Multimedia Certificate that would basically allow me to get a bunch of experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash, as well as some more advanced techniques in Digital Photography (wohoo!!!) (My graduation in my mind figures prominently into this as I am hoping for a higher-end digital SLR as the graduation gift :D I'm not trying to cross the bridge before I come to it, but there is a hopeful anticipation of things to come =). I'm also looking into the possibility of interning with NASA LARC (Langley Aeronautical Research Center) as a graphics/mulitmedia "expert." (should the Lord provide it) I'm also looking into some other more politically active internships because ever since I became involved with Generation Joshua, I have had a much deeper appreciation for politics, and generally anything surrounding our founding documents (Mayflower Compact, Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, Constitution, etc). I absolutely love staying up-to-date on the political world, and my interaction one-on-one during the 2005 and 2006 election seasons as a campaign supporter with the RNC has only more intensified that love. Maybe God will find room for that in my future occupation... I also have decided not to follow, even if I am accepted, an internship with CollegePlus! down in San Antonio, TX. Various elements came to my attention (I'm sure by God's ordaining them) that made it clear to me that the best thing would be my staying here and looking for a internship/job future here in Virginia. I love my church, my family (related and non-related), and this makes the most sense support-wise. So much for being a Texas cowboy :) So, long story short, I am coming to a very important part in my life and would greatly appreciate y'all's prayers as I seek God's clear direction for my near future.
That takes care of scholastic stuff.
*ITS OFFICIAL* Another important decision, one I actually have already made, was one not to continue debating with the National Christian Forensics and Communication Association (NCFCA for those of you who debate or do IE's) and end my three-year educational debate career permanently. This was a very hard decision, but one that the more I think about it the more I am convinced that God has blessed and done for my good. It has meant the saying "goodbye" to a lot of things I had never figured on saying that to, but God has been good and has allowed me to move on. At the same time, this does not mean I have departed from providing support and encouragement to those still in debate. Quite the contrary. Many of my friends who have either been involved for a short time or long time have made me immensely proud, be they in Virginia or elsewhere :D This goes to say that I will miss not being at every tournament, seeing the people I'm used to seeing. However, the recent tournament that our club was involved in (Radix Practice Tourney in Richmond, Va) went very well! Alex Klein, my almost-lifetime-long friend, got 7th place speaker and we are all majorly proud of him (go Alex!) His partner and the other team representing our club did very well considering it was the one of the other team members first tournament (rather confusing, I know. lol). It did feel rather odd coming to a tournament in jeans, a button-down shirt, a blazer and.... CONVERSES! (finally!) :) For those of you who don't know, I've always wanted to have converses as the *official* tournament shoe. So for me, it was a victory ;)
*Seasonal* Customarily, as is proper around this time of year, we have turned the house shades of green, red and gold and are looking forward to having Joseph and Katy here with us during the holidays. Promises of food (a most important ingredient), outrageous fun, and of course *drumroll* DaNcInG!!! are exciting us all. I can't wait :)
I apologize for those of you who don't often have a lot of time to read long posts, but recent events have made this a necessity. Hopefully this season of the year will allow you a few more moments to read about how God has been very good to one Virginia Cowboy. May y'all have a blessed Christmas season, and remember that even if life gives you lemons, just be prepared to add sugar and water and enjoy the lemonade =D God Bless!

| A Thanksgiving Post
I absolutely LOVE this time of year. Trees are turning color, and hopefully all the lawns have stopped growing, giving me a short respite from the work done during spring/summer/and parts of autumn. But the best thing I love about it, is that it reminds me that I'm not the only one on this earth, and there are other beings who I share my life with. In my opinion there are two, well, really three groups of people: related family, unrelated family, and complete strangers. Most of the time, I spend my life with the first two. These include, "family," church-family, debate friends, friends of friends, and neighbors. I'm most especially glad for every one of them, because without any one of them, we couldn't appreciate the others. At the same time though, more developed relationships you tend to appreciate more, and I'm no exception. So to all the people who I've spent meaningful amounts of time with, thank you for being the friend that you are to me, you make my days =)
Dancing!!! I got to go to dance with Katie and Jonathan Young and the McKinney's last Saturday, and that was an absolute blast. I haven't had that much fun-fun in a long time, and it was nice to be just sill with them. Thank you Katie, Jonathan, Lauren and Kate, for still liking me after my insane sillyness...and thanks Lauren for understanding my "weirdness" :)
(I love excitable people like Kate =)
Such an awesome brother and sister...
Thanksgiving Day We had some good friends over for the day, one of which it was their FOURTH consecutive time! Talk about things to talk about :) It was a most splendid (hehe...and "peachy" :) day, full of food, fun and of course laughter. We all got to talk about what things we were grateful for, eat awesome desserts and sing glorious songs. The day could not have been better spent.
Well, it is late, but I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, and hopefully you returned safely and in one piece if indeed you ventured out to the places of shopping. Merry Thanksgiving!!!
