Bittersweet Things

I recently received 2 cds my sister sent me for my birthday, and one of them was the latest Lifehouse cd.  Lifehouse was one of my favorite bands; I love the raw emotion that seems to come through the speakers when I hear their melodies and voices.  Sadly, now I hear the voices with the bittersweet emotions, they only recall shards of broken memories.  I suppose bittersweet is sweet nonetheless.  Maybe that is why I love dark chocolate.

I was thinking...

I was thinking today about time travel.  And I realized that if you actually built a time machine, to be safe, it would not only have to travel through time, but also through space (be able to teleport).  Because if you travelled to the exact place you were 6 months ago, the planet would be on the other side of the sun and you would be floating in space sucking on vacuum (or more correctly, it would be sucking on you).  So you would have to calculate where the planet was at the moment you want to travel to, or some how have the time machine recognize the earth and it's position and orientation as a reference.  And then I thought, I wonder if normal people think about stuff like this...

What do you think about?

Not So Stimulated

Another reason why I think the "economic stimulus plan" was a bad idea:

http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/12/fair-to-pass-economic-stimulus-cost-onto-our-kids/

I wonder if anyone thinks about where this money comes from and how it depreciates our currency.  Save for your kids, they are going to need it.

The Overview

Hawaii was sweet.  I'm not going to be as detailed as my last Hawaii trip (Sept 2006).  Here was the itinerary and some pictures:

Landed, went to Pearl Harbor and looked around, visited Tomo's local friend and watched surf videos, walked around the beach at night several times, hiked the Old Pali Highway, looked for Morgan's corner (supposed to be haunted, oooohhh), drive to the north shore, got Matsumoto shaved ice (shaved ice is soooo good), ate at a curry house, drove up to Tantalus look out (also haunted), walked around Waikiki, hiked to Maunawili falls (I think seen in the Jason Mraz video, honestly, the video gives a good feel of what my trip was like to me), snorkeled in Hanuma Bay, hiked Diamondhead, ate Waiola shaved ice like 4 times, ate and played games at Hawaii Dave and Buster (actually quite popular on Wednesdays), shopped for gifts at Ala Moana Center, ate at Shore Birds where you cook your own meat (I never understood that, I feel like I should get a discount, but they charge more), went to David's wedding (beautiful) and danced before going back to the beach at night, hung out with my uncle, aunt, and cousins for lunch, body boarded by magic island, listened to some local bands play on the Waikiki strip Saturday night, saw that korean actor in "Lost" at the Kahala Mall (my friends and I were hanging out and I was like, "dude, that guys looks a lot like that Lost guy.  No, that is the Lost guy!")  I tried not to gawk too badly.  Took off for home :(  And now I'm back in SD.

Hiking Hawaii

I'm here!  Actually, yeah, I think we were just hiking here a few days ago.  I love Hawaii.
