| The AMAZING discovery...SO...whenever I'm at work and watch the people fertilizing and spraying, I always wonder if it's going to make it so they can't have kids...WELL...I think my questions were answered...I don't think they'll be infertile...however, I do think their kids will be "different"...I think they'll be HUGE!!! See below...I have no doubt this mushroom has been "sprayed" a time or two this summer...

| Long Lost Treasure...SO...at work today...I found a ball marker with a dragon on it in the grass. WHAT A TREASURE! One of the guys I work with drove by and I asked him if he likes dragons. He did! WHAT A COINCIDENCE! SO, I told him I found a treasure for him and handed him the gift. He ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT...which I completely understand...
W-O-W!
THEN...as I was raking a bunker on hole 18, I found the spike of golf shoes (like a clete spike) and put it in my pocket to save as yet another gift for a lucky person... SO...2 guys who were raking bunkers with me, came by and I asked who wants the special treasure in my hand. For some reason, they didn't jump at this...so I asked them what their favourite treat is. After they both gave their answers, I opened my hand to one of them and gave it to him...the golf shoe spike. Boy was he excited...there was more dialogue in there but I left it out for the sanity of the readers...raking bunkers for 5 hours can bring up some stupid conversations...
W-O-W AGAIN!!
OK, so if you're not super impressed by these stories yet...wait until you hear this last treasure I found today...
Earlier in the season (we'll say around April) I wore pants to work because it was colder out, and I lost a button off of my pants one day. I took a button from the bum pocket and sewed it on the front so I could continue to wear them.
WELL...today after lunch we were weeding bunkers (our very favourite job) AND, as I moved an unsightly weed, right there beside it I found my long lost treasured button...the one I lost more than FOUR MONTHS AGO!! Not only is it amazing that I found not 1, not 2, but 3 treasures toda...BUT...it's amazing, that of the nearly 200 bunkers at the golf course, we happened to weed THE BUNKER THAT MY BUTTON WAS IN!! No joke. This story is 100% true!!
Now THAT is a W-O-W of a story!! AND, it's perfect timing because in a few weeks I'm going to have to start wearing those very pants to work again...the mornings are getting chilly!!
Isn't this SUCH an exciting story?! WHAT A GREAT DAY OF TREASURE HUNTING!! And, sorry I don't have pictures, but I didn't know it was going to be such a treasure-filled day.

| A few months ago...I realized that I would like to go roller blading in the summer...but needed some roller blades. In May, I saw some at a garage sale, but they weren't my size.
THEN, I found a pair of roller blades in the garage at our house...and they fit me! YIPPEE!!
Only 2 small problems - they had no laces, and each one was missing a wheel (it was in the middle though, so it wasn't a big deal). I looked to see how much new wheels are, and for $30.00 I could get all 8 wheels made new...or $30.00 per skate...I can't remember...I just remember thinking I could find a whole new pair at a garage sale for that, and for how often I roller blade, it's not worth it. SO, I decided to leave the wheels missing and use them anyways.

WELL...last night I decided I was going to get laces and try them out -
so one of my really great friends who I spend almost all my time with - we'll call her Jessica Stevens (because that's her name) and I went roller blading by the waterfront on Barrie.
WELL...first
off - the wheels barely rolled. They were SO worn out that it was more
like walking and less like roller blading...I got a REALLY good leg
work out because it took so much work to get them to move...kinda
funny...
AND...as we continued on...after about 20 minutes, one
of the wheels fell apart. The rubber around the front wheel all came
off and I was down to 2 "good" wheels. We continued on. Not 5 minutes
later...the next wheel on the same skate also lost the rubber - no all
of it, but enough that it was pretty much impossible to ride on them.
(Note the 2 wheels have no rubber casing on the top blade)
Thus
ended my roller blading for the evening. I took off the blades, and
proceeded to walk barefoot down the path for th 30 minute walk back to
my car...it was pretty funny...and I decided that I need some new
roller blades...so...now I need to go garage saling...or get some new
wheels...we'll see.
ACTUALLY...now that I look at the one good blade that I have left, half the rubber is missing off of the 2nd wheel on that one too...oh brother...what was I thinking going roller blading with such crappy blades?? Oh well...it was still fun.
