  • Prayers

     DSCN0669

I am sending out a request.  For those who don't know my Uncle has had a rough time.  He was diagnosed with cancer and then last Friday he had a stroke and is now in the ICU.  Please add my family to your prayers, there are never too many.

Also I have another prayer request.  A friend of mines brother-in-law killed himself Monday night and she has asked for prayers for her family but mostly for her husband who isn't in church and doesn't "believe in all this stuff" as he puts it.  Please pray that this situation brings him closer to knowing God than farther away.

WOW! ok on some positive news.... I got the go ahead from the neighbors and the lawyer and the title company on the road easement.  So the paperwork has been drawn up and approved and now I just need to wait for one of my neighbors to get back from vacation so that the papers can be notarized.  Hopefully I'm just days away from having my bank loan!!!!

  • Texas Trip Summary

Ok one week after landing back in KC and I am just starting to get back into my normal life.  I am so tired still.  I slept for 13 hours Friday night.  When will I feel "normal" again (no wise cracks!) :) here is the gist of the trip.

Luling's in Houston was this little BBQ dive we found.  They had good food and a live band to sit and listen to.  One thing that was consistent with everywhere we ate was the tea..it was STRONG! I mean really strong...cloudy.

We also went to NASA while we were there.  I kept telling people we were going to the Alamo. lol.  Michelle didn't know what was wrong with me.

Here is a restaurant we went to twice it's called "SaltGrass Steakhouse" Really good.  They need one up here.

But it seemed our favorite thing to do in Texas was this...

Aren't these the most beautiful pictures?  They were taken from the plane.

Well I think that is the gist of the trip.  We did go to workshops and actually learn something one whole day of the trip.  We had meetings another day, and networked with other companies some other times.  It was a fun trip but toooooo long.  We were both ready to come home 2 days early. :) Now I know about 4 days is my limit.

  • Houson Day 1

    Houston we have a problem!

Ok lets start by saying that I think my car has a big "X" on it that only Police can see.  That or they just love me.  I got another ticket on my way to the airport this morning.

Let me preface all this with, I am going to be in Houston TX from today/Wed to Monday.  Michelle and I flew in to Dallas then jumped to another flight to go to Houson.

This is a picture of this GREAT restaurant that we ate at tonight.  According to the hotel it is run by the first Mexican family to have a restaurant in the state of TX or something like that. They had the best food! It was YUM-O and the cost was reasonable and the staff was so sweet.  The best thing for me was they had this dip they called "green salsa"  basically it was avocado and salsa.  It was just the right level of heat for my sensitive pallet. :) Dad would want to drink it.  And if we weren't getting on a plane I wanted to bring some home.  But I'm sure the guards will confiscate it as a bomb.

oh that brings up security.  Man are they strict.  "Put your laptop in a bin! Put your shoes on the belt not in the bin! your bag on the belt!" I felt like they were trained at Gates BBQ.

And here is a picture of me.  Tired, Jet lagged (is jet lagged 2 words.  and can you be jet lagged if you don't change time zones?) and so ready for bed. The conference starts tomorrow but not til noon so we get to have an easy morning.

oh here is another nugget.  We are wanting to see what Texans have for steak here and get this.  They want $41 for their steak and it was al-a-cart.  So the baked potato is extra the salad is extra the drink is extra.  Can you believe that!!!? Michelle is obsessed.  She keeps saying "I can't believe they want $41 for their steak!"

And in 6 lanes of hwy we kept getting turned around. Thank God for the GPS.  But we got so used to staring at that thing that when the battery went dead we couldn't figure out how to get back to the hotel after dinner.

  • Anyone want a cat?

Shadow is approx 5 years old. She's been declawed and fixed.  She is a perfect cat for someone who wants a low-maintenance animal.  My asthma is getting worse and I can no longer have her.  I don't want to bring her to a shelter and since she has no front claws she can't be outside.  If anyone knows of any options I haven't thought of please please let me know.  She is FREE of course and I will give whoever takes her everything they will need to take care of her. Thanks
