what I did last Saturday

I took a quilting class called "Free-motion Quilting on Your Small Machine." You see...I have a quilt top or two that I'd like to attempt quilting myself, but needed some pointers. So I took this great class taught by my friend, Carol Morrissey, at Quilt Country in Lewisville. Just thought I'd show you a little bit of what I did. Not perfect, but I had fun and I'm pleased with what I learned.

I especially like the fern frond that I attempted and the little "pebbles." Well...I actually like all the other stuff here, too. Anyway, now I can't wait to get started on finishing the current quilt top that is to be a gift. Normally I have to pay someone else to do the quilting, so it'll be nice to be able to handle it on my own.

Have you met Charli?

Charli*0806

This is our puppy, Charli. She is about 6 1/2 months old now. I kinda felt bad for her tonight cuz everyone seemed to be getting down on Charli. (Not me, though.) The husband was yelling at her for trying to snag his dinner.... The daughter was yelling trying to get her to be quiet.... Chip, our 7-year-old dog was barking at her to leave him alone.... And the whole time she was just being a puppy. She can't help it. Granted, she seriously needs some training. FAST. But she was just being playful and adorable with Chip, but he would have NONE OF IT, I tell ya. NONE OF IT.

Sometimes I totally know how she feels. Ever have one of those days?

put...the cell phone...DOWN!

Check this out. Makes me want to turn in my cell phone NOW!!!!

Did you know about this?

this weekend...

...was pretty darn relaxing for me. It was the first time off I've had in quite a while. Between VBS and work, I've been pretty slammed.

I know tomorrow is Monday and all and I'll just have to go back to work, but I really did enjoy this time. Now. If I could just figure out a way to get my house cleaned without having to actually DO it myself! *taps forehead repeatedly* Think, think, think!

Here is a photo of the sea turtle (Cosmo) that I painted for my VBS room.

And here is the sign we had on our door. The husband drew the fish. The daughter and I colored it.

Did you have a good weekend?

the beast

I am fighting a dark beast today. I am trying to visualize Jesus "at my back." That is we are back-to-back, battling together, fighting off evil.

Just saying that makes me feel better.
