Question:

Do you know what's worse than being at work until 2 in the morning?

Getting home and not being able to sleep because you have to come down from work.

Good grief.  ;)

On a good note, I saw a very special person today.

Update...

I suppose this is the only way that some of you are able to keep up with my life so here is what's new with Russell.

Work:  Management is going great.  I think I'm getting the hang of it, but I still have a long way to go.

School:  I am out for the summer!  I only got 1 B and the rest were A's.  That makes me happy because it brings up my GPA.  I am looking forward to being able to concentrate on work and Church for a while...

Church:  Praise and worship is getting better and better in the youth group.  The Catalyst group of which I am a part is excited about what's happening in the youth.

Other:  The band I'm in (Morning Fog) is playing at the Christian venue "The Cellar" in Franklin, TN this Friday night.  We are starting to sound really good, and you should definitely try to make it out if you can.  Call me if you are interested.  I also got a new car!  I am now driving a Chrysler Sebring convertible.  I will be making payments on it, but it is good to finally have a car that I do not have to feel embarrassed about.  It's great.

That's about all the new stuff that's going down.  My birthday is exactly one week away.  Buy me something nice...

Life...

It's been a real season of change for me lately....

Steph and I are no longer dating.  It was not a bitter break up or anything like that.  We are handling a situation in the most mature fashion in which we are able.  Steph is still amazing and so am I ;).

Amanda VanPlymouth (the man van) is no longer with us.  The transmission failed on me last Saturday, and the repair of that plus the other things that were soon to be repaired is too costly for such a temporary mode of transportation.  In this case, I am looking for a new used car.   I need it soon, and I know God will supply it.

I am a manager now at DQ which means I am working longer and under more stress than before.

There are times when I wish that I could go back to high school when everything was simple and fun, but lifes not about looking back.  Change is a good thing.  I just need to look at it that way.  Please pray for me.

On a lighter note, my family is taking a vacation to Myrtle Beach the beginning of June which is cool, and Zajas and the Turtle are getting married at the end of July!  Good things are happening.  Plus the youth are doing great things at Turning Point and I'm excited to see what's going to happen with them.

Guess What?

I declared a major today at MTSU.

I consulted with an advisor that was trained to help me figure out what majors would suit my interests last week.  I told him that I planned on being a music minister and that I would like to major in something that would help with a job that I could fall back on (I am minoring in music at MTSU).  So when we put all of my interests into proven charts and things he suggested to me the major of I/O Psychology.

Not only would a job like this pay me well, but I can also use many of the techniques that I will learn here in counseling for a church or other things like that.  That's one of the reasons I picked it.

I really would concentrate more on the HR part of it dealing with people's motivation and job satisfaction.  It sounds like fun to me.  This is very tentative however, and I'm gonna try the waters with an introductory course next semester as I'm finishing up the last of my core classes.  Wish me luck!

Oh.  And don't worry.  I'm still making Music Ministry my main goal.

Hilariously Random!

So I was looking for a random word generator online for fun, and I came across the Creativity Tools website that had a lot of useful tools in it.  This would really come in handy for preparing games in my opinion.  They can give you a random word,  fill out a complete sentence, or even generate a paragraph full of fun words!  Here are just a couple for your enjoyment.  In the random paragraph section, you get to pick the primary and secondary subject and it does the rest.

"Within The Turtle scratches the innovative microprocessor. Zajas retracts a haircut. The Turtle fasts! Zajas humbles an extraordinary horse. The advice heaps a bread after his new pleasure."

"Below Dr. Pepper jams Russell. Dr. Pepper chooses! Dr. Pepper solos without Russell. Her shareholder attends behind Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper emphasizes a voluntary constraint. How does the smoking pig fuss over Russell?"

So there you have it.  Dr. Pepper is in fact.....a woman.
