- We move into our first apartment

All of this will happen in one day, can you guess the date?

[Huh, I thought I posted here in xanga but I guess I only posted in my LiveJournal and MySpace. It's about a month old but here's our San Diego trip]

Vince and I finally had our 2nd vacation together, which was planned at the last minute when we found out we had Memorial Day off. My entries are usually long and detailed so here's a list for each day with a few pictures.

SATURDAY:

- Left after 3:30 am
- Stopped at Victorville to fill up on gas (it was $4.01)
- Finally got to San Diego (more than 5 hours total for the drive)
- Checked out the beach. Sand's a bit dirty. REALLY COLD.
- Went to Ralph's to buy towels.
- Ate at L&L Hawaiian BBQ that was right next door to it.
- Checked out Belmont Park and bought some Shandals ("They're not shoes, they're sandals!", says the tag)
- Checked into the Inn at Mission Bay after 2:00 pm, which looks nothing like it does at the website.
- Ate at a pricey but a great and trendy Japanese restuaraunt, Sushi Ota (which was near a 7-11 store and a walk away from the Inn)
- Realized how lame Direct TV is.

SUNDAY:

- Woke up early and arrived at the San Diego Zoo after 9:00 am
- Noticed that Vince's right rear tire was slowly losing air.
- Had pictures taken outside before heading in.
- Took pictures of everything! Unfortunately, most of the animals were asleep since it was so early and quite cold.
- A beautiful free-roaming peacock is seen trying to impress a female goose with its beautiful tail. It even tried to attract Vince when he walked by.
- A few animals were not present :(
- We took the express bus around the Zoo.
- I bought a T-shirt, Panda plushie and a keychain from the gift store.
- We kept geting lost. Everytime we followed the directions to the entrance, we end up farther and farther away.
- Took thy Skyfari (air tram) to get to the entrance. Vince scared me because our's was the number 23 and he kept yelling how high up we were. My legs were shaking!
- Picked up our pictures that we took earlier at the entrance.
- Bought another shirt from the gift shop. Vince bought a small panda figure for his mom and a tshirt for his dad. (I didn't buy any souvenirs for anybody else).
- Got out around 4:00 pm and noticed Vince's car tire lost even more air but we couldn't find the tear.
- Got lost and ended up in Downtown. I learned that Petco Park is a stadium and not a park for pet owners.
- Got lost and ended up in Downtown again because I assumed Balboa Park was the same place we went to earlier (Belmont Park was on Balboa Avenue).
- Went to a Chevron gas station to buy some tire sealant as temporary fix. Had to drive around for it to spread around the inside of the tire.
- Got food at McDonald's and ate at our hotel room, ended up wathcing "Knocked Up".

MONDAY:

- Went to a tire store to get the wheel replaced.
- Ate at IHOP and had a hearty big breakfast.
- Went to Belmont Park to relax at the beach. Vince used me as a shield for the incoming waves and almost got hit by a surfboard that was going in our direction. Vince had me pinned down on my knees as the wave crashed on me.
- Went to a gift store where I accidentally broke a picture frame and walked out without paying for it.
- Left before 2:00 pm
- Got home at 7:00 pm
- Finally went #2.

Overall, awesome trip and I wish we could stay longer. Sea World was also not that far from the Inn but we didn't have the time or money for it. Maybe next time!

Last night was the CSN Graduation at the Thomas & Mack Center!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I got there, wandering aimlessly (like most of the grads) until I met up Celia, Dan and her mom.

Highlights:

- Using the bathroom in the men's locker room.
- Graduates walking in and taking out their newly bought cap and gown from the student store.
- The huge line for "Associate of Applied Science" and the small lines for "Certificate of Achievement" and "General Education".
- Graduates walking in with their bags and plastic bags (I wore my bat wings bag).
- Our caps falling off our head (we didn't realize that we have to pull the front of our caps to keep it on).
- The inappropriate cheering during ROTC.
- That damn Bumblebee speech.
- A beach ball being bounced around among the graduates- and narrowly hitting us - towards the end of the ceremony.

I met up with my parents briefly. My mom was crying and my dad was mildly proud. We took a few pictures before I left to join Vince, Dan and Celia. We went to Famous Dave's to celebrate where I underestimated ribtips and learned that Vince can take on a Manhandler.

Next up... movie night this Thursday!

Wow, I had no idea that I've been away from Xanga for awhile. Same reasons; work and video games... then there's the upcoming CSN graduation at Thomas & Mack.

I bought a game I've always known of but never owned; Grand Theft Auto IV. It's actually a pretty good game, more like a fleshed out No More Heroes (which seems to be also influenced by GTA with the side quests and missions). I am HORRIBLE at driving and stealing cars. Almost every other time I try to do it, the cops chase after me. They made such a big fuss about this game... and thanks to all the unwanted media attention, it's going to be a big seller. I was so pissed with the first mission, I failed it 7 times before I finally got it. Just had to track down a guy and kill him. Really, what's so controversial about this game? :P

Also got The World Ends With You. GREAT DS game! Something not Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts related (although the character designer is the same guy for both games).

Also... IRON MAN! 8PM Showing! On a Thursday! Gonna save a spot and wait in line at Brendan Theaters.

Today is Vincent's Portfolio Show & Graduation at Fashion Show Mall. A mall... I thought graduations are normally held at the Thomas & Mack Center (mine's in May... finally :O) but The Art Institute apparently has it in other areas. For instance, last year's AI graduation took place at MGM.I got my camera so I'll be posting pics later on tonight. Vincent took full advantage of our lab here so he has booklets containing his artwork and a CD of his 2 minute demo reel, which took us 2 night to make, along with a ridiculously huge sign with his logo, which was too big to fit in his car and he had to drive all the way back to get his parent's truck.

This'll be interesting.

Update #1: Vince called and said he won 1st place for "Best in Show"! I don't think anyone will miss his 36x60 sign and 50+ booklets and 1000 business cards. And lights.

Update #2: Just got back from there, he won Best in Show for Game Art & Design (including him, which makes 4 people all together graduating from that major). A lot of people liked his display and kept getting all his booklets and business card. His mom gave me my invitation to the ceremony so hopefully I can leave at 5:00 or 5:30 to make it. **sighs** I had to go back to work o_O

Update #3 Now with PICS! I left at 5:30 to get save some seats for Vince's parents and bro (who was still stuck at the airport thanks to Southwest Airlines inspection). When the ceremony began, the deans came out and took their seats, then then ramp rose up from the ground and the graduates all walked out through the smoke (yes, they had a smoke machine). I was the only one who cheered for Vince when his name was called. Towards the end, I spotted his family waiting outside the roped area so I left the seats to meet up with them. We all took pictures then went home to order some KFC. It sure didn't seem like it was 3 years but he finally graduated (again).
