Thats me stripping bark off of the fence for the playground.....with a pocket knife!!!!

Kenya 606

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Justin, Me, Tanner, and Shantelle in London after a 10 hour flight.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting                 A little sight seeing in London.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting     More sight seeing.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting The Midway crew in London.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting       The Great Rift Valley in Kenya (on our way to safari).

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Midway crew in Kenya.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting      This one explains itself

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting                                      They said it is the first church ever in Nairobi....about 200 years old.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting                    Female lions, I have video too...but cant put that on here.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting                     More female lions.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting  Elephant....there were more but this will do.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting     Now, this is a male lion, hard to see cause it was at night, but its there and it was about 5 feet infront of us!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Another image of the male lion....hard to see but he is there....looking at us!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting                                          Giraffe

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting      This is the boarder marker for Kenya and Tanzania with me and tanner on it.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting                                         This monkey actually stole a back of chips while we ate lunch....it was funny.

One more

Ok, one more entry before Kenya. Just so you have something recent to read for those 2 weeks Ill be gone.

So, money is pretty much in order for the trip, at least the cost for the trip, now I am getting the spending cash together. Its coming down to the wire, only 11 more days. Im getting really excited.

The job search still goes on.......I am working at Midway still but that will run out when I go to Kenya. I will really need something lined up for when I get back, but its looking like that may not happen. Not worried though cause I know God will take care of it. I actually got a letter in the mail today from a company called Vector.....not really sure who they are or what they do but they are looking for summer workers and they could possibly hire on in the fall....so I may call them monday to see whats up.

I am actually really happy to be getting out of janitor work at midway. Dont get me wrong, I am VERY thankfull to Mr. Johnson for giving me the job and allowing me to work there, but after this last week of school.....I never, ever, want to deal with what I delt with again. I went to work thursday, which happened to be the last day of school for the high school/ jr. high and someone (not sure who) decided they would put some trash cans upstaires by the lockers to have the kids throw out there stuff. Big mistake if you ask me. I was thinking they were going to do the same as last year, where I went up there and cleaned them out at my own pace. But no.....this year they thought the teachers could control them and that it would be all in the trash cans. No......instead I walk up there and what do I see???? books EVERYWHERE.......in the trash, still in the lockers, and most of all....on the floor....not just the books, but paper....notebooks, binders, even old lunches and food that had been sitting in the lockers for who knows how long. I found oranges, about 6, that probably had been sitting in the locker for a couple of months.....stacks and stacks of books, and other things. It took me about 2 hours to just clean that mess.....and I had about 20 or 25 trash bags of books that I had to throw out. Not to mention the three trash cans that did get filled with books. I didnt even try to throw those out cause they were so heavy I couldnt lift them and if I had tryed to take out the bags, they would have ripped. I will not lie, I was MAD.....and still seem a little ticked (cant you tell). I just cant believe they would do that, dont they know even if all the books were put in the trashcans I would not have been able to do anything with them because of the weight???? I mean, leave everything alone and let me deal with it like I did last year.

Im sorry, I dont mean to sound like I hate whoever decided to have them do it that way, cause I dont, I just think that it was not done the right way and I was the one who had to pay for it. I know they couldnt have forseen the students being idiots and throwing the books everywhere, even down at the preschoolers!!! but hopefully this years mistakes will allow them to learn so the next janitor will not have to deal with that. I dont mean to write so much about it and make it seem like its consuming me, its just still fresh in my mind cause it happened like 2 days ago.  I have enjoyed my stay as janitor/maintanence guy at midway. It has given me great experience that I could not get anywhere else....and I loved the hours and the type of work was not that bad, at least until last thursday. Now its time to move on to something else. Please pray and keep and eye out for anything that I could apply for cause I need something soon.

Other things are going good. Summer has been going good so far. Hanging with friends like Hugo, Robert, Ciara, Zach, Randall....so its cool. Looking forward to my trip and just ready for the next step.

Well....that was ALOT longer than I expected but thanks for reading this far.....now if you enjoyed my story, please feel free to leave a comment, or two. Dont be shy, I know you will be happy if you do. thanks!!!!

Schools Out!!!!

Well......took my last final yesterday and now summer has officially started for me!!!!!!!!!

Worked petco tonight to help raise the last little amount for Africa. I need $2500 and right now with tonights game I have, I believe $2250....so I am almost there. I am really looking forward to it. I am really excited and ready to go. Pray for me and the other travelers that we will get everything together and have a safe trip there and back. Ill have to make sure to post alot of pics when I get back.

For anyone that read my last post about the job at Lowes....I know I made it sound like a sure thing, and thats cause I thought it was.......but I found out Tuesday that I did not get the job for one reason. The store manager was ready to hire me, but I guess that the HR woman (Human Relations) looked over the survey she gave me and found something she did not like so she "red flaged" me, which pretty much means I cant be hired and I have to wait 6 months to apply again. Im not going to wait that long, so I am once again looking. I guess the thing with the survey was that they tend to ask the same type of question 2 or 3 times but they re-word it every time to seem a little different and see if you will give the same answer, and I guess I gave 2 different answeres so the HR person thought I wasnt being honest or something. Stupid, but o well. I may actually be getting a job working and JC towing as a dispatcher. Basically take calls, enter car info into a computer and dispatch the tow truck drivers to pick up cars and other things. I think it will be cool....but this time I am going to be carefull, cause its not written in stone yet.

Well....thats about it for now, I know in the last post I said I probably wouldnt write again till after the trip, but I lied..... jk.....I just wanted to update you all on Lowe's and Kenya.
