| Ok, I've been going through the few hundred pictures I took in DC and am still trying to decide which ones to post so bear with me. Also I am working on posting a video of that large item I purchased in DC as well. So in the mean time, I figured I would post some random, crazy and funny things I've found online.
Alienware Curved Monitor - I gotta get me one of these!
Airsoft M2 HB .50 Caliber Machine Gun - Yes! It really is airsoft and shoots at 600 rounds per minute!
Steampunk Laptop - Very cool!
World's First Billion Dollar Home - 400,000 square feet for 5 people is insane!
NERF Vulcan - Fully auto, 25-shot, belt-fed, tri-pod-mounted NERF GUN OF DOOM! MUWAHAHAA!
Kid thinking he is all that by dunking a basketball - "Pride goeth before the fall."
Mario Theme. RC Car. Bottles. Lots and lots of bottles. - WOW!
Tetris Theme. 3 Teens. More Bottles. - Again. WOW!
That's it for now. Will be back soon with those pics! Dan

| The Newest Addition to the Family! My new baby came last Saturday! WOOT! Very slick and beautiful!
And Matt, no....
I didn't kiss this one.
Here is my black 2000 Toyota Celica GT!

I was able to purchase this on Ebay get it shipped down to me from Long Island, NY. Some of you have heard the story of me getting my Rodeo, asking God for all the different options and Him just dropping one in my lap with everything I wanted and a little more. Well, knowing what happened last time, I decided to ask God for the whole bag of marbles again. "Lord, you know the drill. Black, CD player, sunroof, cup holders (this was an option that was lacking in the Rodeo), a rear spoiler and, oh yeah, I want a GTS, not a GT." The Celica comes in two models, the GT and the GTS. The GTS has a better/faster engine in it, therefore, I wanted one. Then this auction came up. "But Lord, this can't be it! It's only a GT!" "Daniel, why do you want a GTS?" "Because it's better! It's faster! It's cooler!" "Come again?" "Faster! Cooler!" "I heard what you said the first time but did YOU hear what you said?" "Yeah, I said fas............... oh." "Now tell me, do you really need a GTS?"
Does God have the power to give us what we want? Of course. Does He always give it to us? No but He has His reasons. It's for our own good.
I will post again soon. Matt is going to drive down here and inflict bodily harm to me if I don't post pics of my DC trip. Also I will have a very cool item to show off that I purchased while up there. Until next time... Dan | | |
| LUCKY"You're one lucky guy!" "Man, you are lucky!" "You're lucky..." That's what I heard a lot of this morning. But luck had nothing to do with it....
Today
started like usual for me. I work most Saturdays and this one was no
different. I stuck my wallet, phone, keys and Zune into my pockets and
left for work. I plugged the Zune into my stereo and set it on the
passenger side seat. I turned out of my neighborhood and hit the first
red light which is normal (I can never hit that one when its green). It
finally changed and I started through the intersection only to see a
minivan approaching quickly from the right. Realizing that it was not
stopping and that impact was going to take place at the front passenger
side door, I put the pedal to the floor. I almost made it. The
minivan hit the back quarter panel on my Rodeo. The back end swung
around, the wheels caught and I started to roll. I closed my eyes just
before the driver's side hit the ground and the window shattered. I
don't remember much of the roll other than hitting my head on the door
support and lots of glass hitting my face. I opened my eyes just as the
it came to rest on the passenger side. I knew right away my baby was
toast. I felt my head and could not find any blood so I started looking
for a way out. With the help of a witness, I was able to release the
pressure on my seatbelt (which I was hanging from) and unhook it.
Seeing my shattered windshield I was tempted to kick it out and step
out of my car like an action hero. I then thought better of it and
stepped out through my sun roof. I was then peppered with one question
over and over in many different forms. "Are you alright?" "Are you ok?"
"Are you hurt?" At this point I got a good look at my baby. Wow.
Toast is right. All the windows were shattered. The mirrors sheared
off. The roof crushed in. The frame was skewed. And there was glass
everywhere. The EMTs arrived and asked the same questions. "Well, I
bumped my head and I have a few shards of glass in my left hand." His
jaw dropped a little. "Anything else?" "Nope. I feel fine." "You're one lucky guy!" He
continued talking and asking questions a I gathered random things that
were thrown from the car. Jumper cables, sun shade, tire jack. "Oh,
look! It's my Zune!" Sitting two lanes over in the road was my trusty
music player. I went over, picked it up and turned it on. "It still
works!" I exclaimed. The paramedic looked at me with a smile and asked
if I was really ok. I laughed and said yes. And once again he looked at
me, his eyes wide and said "You're lucky..."
Luck had nothing
to do with it, as I hope you all know. Every morning before I even get
up my parents pray for each of their kids. Every time I walk out the
door my mom tells me to be careful and says a prayer to keep me safe. It wasn't luck. It was God. And
because of that, I was in and out of the hospital in less than an hour.
Because of that, I am sitting at home with only a concussion and a
slightly cut up hand. Because of Him.
The Rest of the Story... Yes, I'm ok. Yes, I'm looking for a new car. Something sporty. So if you know of anything, let me know. The woman in the minivan was ok and not hurt. Her 2008 Honda Odyssey deployed it's airbags and suffered minor front end damage. On Monday my dad and I will go look at my car, take pictures and see if I can get my newly installed Sony stereo out of it. Here are some pictures that a friend took with a cellphone.

Well, that's the important thing going on in my life right now. I'll be laid up for a day or two so give my cell a call and I might actually answer! I post more pictures after Monday.
Still alive and kick'n! Dan

| Preparing for insanity...Well, it's done and ready to go. I spent 11 and a half hours working to get the store ready for the day after Thanksgiving. I handled enough product today that, if sold, would buy me a real nice house. Right now my body is dead tired but my brain is still functioning. Thats what a Monster energy drink will do to ya.
Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving!
