  • MEC Sandwich

    For those Canadian Friends of mine;

    This sandwich is an exact (not exact) replica of the Mountain Equipment Coop logo www.mec.ca . Awhile back I was preparing a Mozzarella sandwich at work and I came by this incredible find.

  • Indiana Jones is Back

    Dear Friends and Family,

    For many of my long time friends, they know that a small, but significant part of my life revolves around Indiana Jones Trivia. It was to my dismay, the other night at work, when I cracked out the old questions and asked  my fellow, enthusiastic Indiana Jones fans/coworkers

    Q (Sean): What Ocean does Indiana Jones cross in Raiders of the Lost Ark?
    A (Maria): The Indian Ocean
    Response to A(Sean): …pause… (deep sigh, head drops, head softly shaking, response is slow) I believe that’s one of the only oceans that Indiana Jones doesn’t cross is any of the previous three films. I could be mistaken on that one.

    The rest of the Indiana Jones trivia night quickly shifted to the “Old Willie Wonka” trivia night after the girls I was working with couldn’t even mention the three films in the Indiana Jones Trilogy.

    So to celebrate the return of Indiana Jones, got the following;

    With the following;

    And found the following;

    And used the following;

    So Cheers to all my friends who have been waiting so long for the final Harrison Ford installment of Indiana Jones… I’ll be in the theaters this weekend.

  • Milwaukee Brewers Game

    So it was sometime on Friday (I think) and I get this call from my good friend Jason telling me that he has a couple of extra tickets to Sunday’s Brewers game and would Jules and I be interested in going…

    So like any good friend, I said yes

    These were our seats 14 rows back behind home plate.

    This was the view from 4th level, where all my friends from work and church who were also at the game were sitting at.

    The highlight of the game… $1 Hotdogs

    It was a great game, lots of fun, good to be with friends. Dawn thinks that Jason and I should do the Amazing Race. I think if I tell my London Chicken story that they will have to let me do it…

  • Dear Friends and Family,

    This morning, as every morning on April 13th, is my birthday morning.

    And my lovely wife brought me my presents in bed;

    I have taken my next step in Juicing adventure.

    Also, on Friday night Jason and Dawn Kruit came up to visit us for the night.

    It has been a glorious weekend.

    I’ve got great friends in my life…

  • Dear Friends and Family,

    It’s been awhile since I last posted. Here are a few highlights of the past month;

    Mid March found me with a killer flu bug that ended my life as I knew it for about a three day period.

    Cambi and William drove up from Rockford to spend a night playing Settlers of Catan. It was a rousing game filled with an assortment of accents, ginger beer and Cambi pulling off a solid one point victory.

    Spring has arrived in Milwaukee. And with it plenty of runoff, creating enjoyably high currents in the river by our home.

    Julie finally got to try out her new bike for the first time.

    And finally in a precious few minutes the NHL playoffs will begin with the Ottawa Senators facing the mighty Pittsburgh Penguins…

    That’s the news from Milwaukee, hope all is well in your necks of the woods.

  • Hockey Night in Milwaukee

    Dear Friends and Family,

    The other night Julie and I went to our first minor league hockey game since becoming residents of Milwaukee.

    The Milwaukee Admirals are a farm team for the Nashville Predators (somewhat ironic) and were playing the Hamilton Bulldogs, farm team for the Northeast Division leading Montreal Canadian.

    Some good hockey, but in the end Milwaukee prevailed.

    I must say that the most exciting part of the night was the first period intermission race between the cheeses.

    Only in Wisconsin do they have cheeses race during the periods (and only in Wisconsin do they have Beer Cheese).

    Cheers
