    Day : 5 Friday July, 18 2008
    Time woke up: 4:30am
Amount of sleep: 4 1/2 hours
Mood: hurting ~ either poked or got something in my eye and it's killing me!!

Max amount of cals today: 800

    Day's exercises:
        ~ 50 crunches
        ~ 50 reverse crunches
        ~ 50 butt lifts
        ~ 50 leg lifts
        ~ walking 30 minutes w/ stroller = bonus

    Day's things to do:
        ~ clean upstairs
        ~ dishes / kitchen
        ~ bathroom
~ garbage from upstairs and downstairs
        ~ vacuum house

    Goals for the day:
        ~ stay under allowed cals
~ do more than recommended exercises
        ~ stay calm and happy
~ keep kids busy and happy

    Tips for the day:
~ when in doubt don't eat
~ drink 2 sips of water in-between bites of food
~ eat off small plates and only consume 1/2 of what given
~ perform all everyday tasks as if working out, use your muscles and contract

~ brush teeth 3/4 the way done eating so that you don't want to eat anymore / doesn't taste as good

    Journal entry:
So I don't know what happened but my eye's killing me so bad right now. I've been up for an hour now and am feeling sicck to my stomach from not eating yesterday and right now Tums and Pepto Bismol are my only friends. Lord help me I feel like shit. There's no way I can get back to sleep with my eye hurting like this, tried too. My husband should be waking up in a few minutes so I'm not going to make this long. Hope y'all had a good evening and I'll update later. love and luck to y'all. so I've been up for 5 1/2 hours now and feel great. I even did an hour workout video!!! I think today's finally looking better!

    EDIT: 3:30pm
So my lunch was like a complete failure.....but at least I didn't have to think up an array of explanations ( friend came over for lunch and she's sooooo suspicious ) so I may go over my max cals today ~ depending on whether or not my husband makes me eat dinner....he was kinda pissed at me for not eating last night ( doesn't know that I didn't eat at all though ) UGH! I'm just tired, well not so much sleeping tired ( which is amazing ) but more so just drained from sitting outside with the kids. ~ went to take them to the park and found that I forgot to take their stroller out of the car and husband has it at work , since the park's 15 minutes ( or closer to 30 when it's a kid walking ) there's no way I can let my kids just wlk with me They'd be beggine me to pick them up half way there and back and yeah no. So at least i got in that hour of the workout video done otherwise I'd be in trouble outtake wise. My kids are pissing me off. Daughter keeps throwing her sucker sticks on the floor and then lying to me about doing it when I watch my son throw his away....hmmm it's not like I throw sucker sticks on the floor. I'm trying to nip the lying in the butt when they're young, there's no way I will deal with that. It's like I wont get half as mad if they'd tell the truth, but if they lie that's an automatic smack on the ass. Sorry about this ranting but I have really strong feelings towards lying and kids having no respect for their parents / elders. My son's worse most of the time but he gets his too.

Enough about that. I'm going to do whatever I can to get out of eating dinner tonight. My eye is feeling better though. I finally put my contact back in and it's not bothering me as much anymore, I don't know what I did but man did that suck. But at least I got up and got things done earlier than most days. I should get going love and luck girls

    Intake:

    ~ coffee : 150
    ~ spaghetti : 350
    ~ coffee :150

    Outtake:

    ~ 1 hour aerobics : -259
    ~ exercises : -52
    ~ 45 minutes cleaning house : -130

  • Pissed the fuck off

So my husband finally got home and I finally got to have a cigarette ( were in the car and he went to Sam's Club ) but now he's eating this shit canned chicken breast sandwich and there's no way in hell I'm putting that crap down my throat! So it looks like I'm not eating dinner. It just pisses me off that he said he'd figure something out for dinner and that's what he comes up with. That and all the stuff him and our roommate got is ridden with fat and calories! There's barely anything in this house that I can eat without going over my calorie limit! WTF!!! I want to scream at him cause he knows that I am on a diet, he knows that I don't like that shit he bought, he doesn't care!! And I'm going to be so pissed if he smoked pot while he was gone. He's in a better mood so I wouldn't put it passed him but it's bull shit. I want to smoke, I want to feel relaxed and happy but no I feel like crap and I'm hungry and there's nothing I can eat. I swear if he makes me eat I'm going to cry trying to find something that's within my range.......Sorry this is just me venting since I don't do it to him ( especially with all our roommates home ) and there's no one else I can to....God I don't know.
Anyways Sam's Club here isn't selling crystal light on the go anymore apparently so he got me country time lemonade.......deffenetally giving it to the kids, I bet there's like over 200 cals in each serving...mother fucker. So no diet soda and no crystal light and only whole milk and regular soda means I can have water and that's it. great.

Intake so far today : 0 calories
max amount of cals allowed today : 400

I'm bored and want to put the kids to bed cause they're pissing me off too and I can't cause it's too early and, sorry I'm done bitching.
I guess I'm just bored. I have my classes done so I can't do that and I'm bored with myspace and I don't want to clean cause with all the guys here it'll just get dirty again in minutes......what can I do? NOTHING!!!  I keep bitching so I'll just go and update again when I am cooled down love and luck girls hope you're doing better than me.

    Burn 100 gym-free calories

Posted: Jul 17th 2008 1:36PM by Chris Sparling

When we move around, we burn calories. When we we are inactive, we still burn calories, but nearly as many. It stands to reason, then, that getting off our butts is a key component to weight loss. Joining a fitness center is a great way to make this happen, but some people feel like they stick out in gyms more than Paris Hilton would at a Mensa convention. Fortunately, it's entirely possible to torch some calories from the comfort of your home. Here's a look at how.

Jump rope for 10 minutes. If you own a home, this shouldn't be much of a problem. But, if you rent an apartment and it happens to be on an upper level, the people living below you may hate you. Oh well, you can't please everyone. Such are the sacrifices we make for burning 115 calories.

    Get down for 15 minutes.
Pop in your guiltiest of pleasures and dance around your living room like it's your last day on earth. The good news is that you probably have many, many more days ahead of you, and that you just burned 112 calories.

Mop the floors for 30 minutes. Decidedly less fun than the past two options, mopping the floor is nonetheless a more physical activity than it may seem. Proof of this is the fact that you will burn 121 calories.

Walk up and down your stairs for 30 minutes. Halfway through this exercise, you'll probably wish you had chosen to mop the floor. After a solid half an hour on the stairs, you will have burned 190 calories.

Play with your dog for 30 minutes. Aaah, now this one sounds fun. The opportunity to run around, chew on its favorite toy, and play fetch will not only bring your canine friend a great deal of joy, but it will also help you burn 100 calories.

    Guilt-Free Answers to Summer Eating

Heading out for the day? While this often means eating bags of greasy chips (oh no!), gas-station snacks (eeks!), and hot dogs that should come with a Surgeon General's Warning, there's no reason you can't have a great time and make smart food choices. Check out these tips from Hungry Girl...

    Leader of the Pack

Why be at the mercy of the road? Grab a cooler and pack it up with some of your fave guilt-free snacks -- fruit, low-cal/low-fat energy bars, nuts (in portion-controlled packs), and jerky (beef, turkey, or even soy). Keep some light string cheese and fat-free yogurt in that cooler, as well. Both are satisfying and can act as a mini-meal or snack. Forget packing produce and get fresher-than-fresh fruit from roadside stands -- the folks there often let you try before you buy or pick 'em off the tree yourself, which turns snacktime into a fun activity.

These Shoes Were Made for Walking

... and that's just what they should be doing. You've been sitting in the car for a couple of hours, so don't just get out and sit on the sand (or the grass or wherever you may be)! Take a walk to look around. (Just avoid all those junk food traps -- FEH!) Bring out the kid in you by building sandcastles or playing sports. Grab a Frisbee, beach ball, or volleyball and just know that you'll be showering later anyway. Move around and have fun!

    License to Grill

Day trips usually include the burning of meat. No problemo. There are plenty of ways to enjoy grilled meats, guilt-free!

The onions are sliced, the pickles are diced, the lettuce is shredded and the buns are toasted. They're all just waiting for a greasy burger. Don't do it! Instead, grab your favorite Boca Meatless Burger (or another no-guilt meat-free patty from Amy's, Gardenburger, or Morningstar Farms). You can also seek out low-fat beef and turkey burgers. Flip your guilt-free burger of choice onto a whole-grain bun. You can even melt a slice of low-fat or fat-free cheese on top of that patty. Woohoo!

Other options include grilling up fish, chicken, scallops, or shrimp -- all tasty, all low in calories and high in protein, and all easy to grill.

If those steaks just look too tempting to pass up, turn 'em into kebabs. You'll fill up more quickly (and on less beef) if your meat is competing with hearty chunks of zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes. Coat your kebabs with your fave low-fat marinade and burn those babies. Hungry Girl tip -- try making fish kebabs ... less fat, equally tasty.

    Sides, Sides, Everywhere is Sides

Salads  Colorful fruit salads are always a delicious summer treat. If you're going green, try tossing that lettuce with a light citrus-y vinaigrette instead of something super-creamy.

Coleslaw  Sad times -- this stuff is typically over-mayoed, causing it to contain DOZENS of unnecessary fat grams. But here's a Hungry Girl secret -- rinse your slaw (until the water runs clear) to wash calories and fat grams down the drain. It'll taste great (it's already soaked up lots of flavor), but won't have all that excess fatty goo.

Potato Salad  This stuff is as common as flies at a cookout (with way more fat!). Don't fret -- just BYOP (bring your own potato salad). Make it with fat-free versions of mayonnaise, yogurt, sour cream, or buttermilk, and use lots of spices. You'll save a lot of calories and fat grams, and no one will ever know it's not the fat-packed original. Or just skip the fatty spud salad altogether. It won't kill ya!

    7 Foods That Fight Anxiety

Posted Wed, Jul 16, 2008, 3:38 pm PDT
    POST A COMMENT »
Bills arriving in heaps? Gas prices sky-rocketing? Summer love turned sour? Regardless of the cause, there's a counter-intuitiveness to the goodies we turn to for comfort. Take the classic-curling up with a pint of ice cream. It's a total backfire. Why? Sweets are insidious: After the initial rush, the body's insulin response kicks in, causing a sudden blood sugar drop that triggers the release of stress hormones. Soon you're feeling more jangled than you were before you inhaled that whole container of Chunky Monkey. And alcohol, of course, is a wolfish stimulant in calm sheep's clothing.

But true comfort foods do exist.

    1. Berries, any berries
Eat them one by one instead of M&Ms when the pressure's on. For those tough times when tension tightens your jaw, try rolling a frozen berry around in your mouth. And then another, and another. Since the carbs in berries turn to sugar very slowly, you won't have a blood sugar crash. The bonus: They're a good source of vitamin C, which helps fight a jump in the stress hormone cortisol.

    2. Guacamole
If you're craving something creamy, look no further. Avocados are loaded with B vitamins, which stress quickly depletes and which your body needs to maintain nerves and brain cells. Plus their creaminess comes from healthy fat. Scoop up the stuff with whole-grain baked chips-crunching keeps you from gritting your teeth.

    3. Mixed nuts
Just an ounce will help replace those stress-depleted Bs (walnuts), give you a whopping amount of zinc (Brazil nuts)-it's also drained by high anxiety-and boost your E (almonds), which helps fight cellular damage linked to chronic stress. Buy nuts in the shell and think of it as multi-tasking: With every squeeze of the nutcracker, you're releasing a little bit of tension.

    4. Oranges
People who take a 1,000 mg of C before giving a speech have lower levels of cortisol and lower blood pressure than those who don't. So lean back, take a deep breath, and concentrate on peeling a large orange. The 5-minute mindfulness break will ease your mind and you'll get a bunch of C as well.

    5. Asparagus
Each tender stalk is a source of folic acid, a natural mood-lightener. Dip the spears in fat-free yogurt or sour cream for a hit of calcium with each bite.

    6. Chai tea
A warm drink is a super soother, and curling up with a cup of aromatic decaf chai tea (Tazo makes ready-to-brew bags) can make the whole evil day go away.

    7. Dark chocolate
Okay, there's nothing in it that relieves stress, but when only chocolate will do, reach for the dark, sultry kind that's at least 70% cocoa. You figure if the antioxidant flavonoids in it are potent enough to fight cancer and heart disease, they've got to be able to temper tension's effects.

Training and Fitness: Where to Start Posted Thu, Jul 03, 2008, 5:06 pm PDT

75% of users found this article helpful.

I want Peace of Body! Everyone talks about peace of mind, but what about peace of body? I don’t think you can have one without the other.

It all starts with total acceptance of where you are today. From there, start training.

Make yourself a weekly exercise routine, whether it’s walking 3 days a week or working out 5 times a week, and do it religiously. Pick a schedule that you know you’ll be able to keep.

Next, stop thinking about the results. Your body will respond if you get yourself into the athlete mindset and workout like you mean it. Your training has to be not only consistent, but also effortful. Walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes a day while reading a magazine isn’t going to get you what you want.

And if you are going to dedicate 30 minutes to exercise, you might as well make it count. Follow a guided program, or work out with a partner, an instructor, or a coach, someone or something that will push you to the next level. Of your own accord you’ve gotten ‘here.’ To get ‘there,’ or where you want to be, put your training in someone else’s hands. Find a class, a group, a CD or something that will help take you ‘there.’

Now look at your diet - you’re going to have to eat like you mean it, too. What you eat is a big part of your training. I know for me when I don’t eat well, or I overeat, I feel badly, even when there are lots of other good things going on in my life.

My food really does greatly determine my peace of body, and I’ll bet it’s the same for you. Make it your goal to become more conscious of what you put in your mouth. Plan ahead, have a conversation with yourself about what you’re going to eat, or not eat, before each meal. Sometimes it’s helpful to call a friend and make a commitment to them, or write it down.

Freedom will come from following a regimen, having boundaries, and being really conscious about what you are doing to your body.

    Peace of Body will follow.

By the way the below pictures are reverse thinspo....for me I look at them and think yeah, I don't want to ever look like that hence I don't eat.

  • Day 4 ~ it's gonna get stormy around here

    mood: nearly chipper :)

    Day's Max Calories : 400

    Day's exercises to do:
        ~ 100 crunches
        ~ 100 reverse crunches
        ~ 100 butt lifts
        ~ 100 leg lifts

Day's cleaning / things to do:
        ~ dishes and kitchen
        ~ clean off desk
        ~ work on final class
        ~ vacuum house
        ~ clean upstairs
        ~ re-new library books!!!

    Goals for the day:
~ get all exercises done early and do more!
~ no eating until dinner time at earliest
~ use at least 5 distractions and read TTT below when hungry
~ find and post at least 5 thinspo or reverse thinspo ( which works better for me         ) and post them
~ look through old magazines and cut out any pics or articles that will help
        ~ DON"T EAT FATTY!!!!!

    I need this because:
~ Control is what I crave in my life
~ I don't want to be the normal fat housewife
~ If someone walks in on me changing etc. I don't want to freak out cause they         saw my rolls
~ I take care of everyone around me but rarely take the time to better myself
~ absolutely nothing tastes as good as being thin feels

    Day's Journal entry:

So there's storms coming here....like directly towards our place....and I'm home alone with the kids. Freaky. Anyways I've been doing great with my intake ( compared to usually ) and I've been pot free for over 24 hours! It sucked sleeping though. I had to sleep in cause half the night I was up sweating and trying to get comfortable. So yeah, I broke a rule of my challenge. Fuck it. I'm trying to quit something that I haven't attempted to in years. My body's so sore though. I feel like if I can just make it to where I can sit down then I'll be fine. ( yeah pathetic I know ) But I'm finally happy to be rid of that shit. My husband went to the store last night to get milk and ended up getting me a caramel crunch bar....I've been staring at it and it's like, whatever. If I had been smoking weed then it'd be gone and I'd be pissed but since I don't smoke anymore it's like I can just leave it here on my desk and not feel he urge to eat it. I'm mainly thinking on hiding it and when I get a chocolate craving to just get it and split it with the kids. God I'm so pumped that I'm done smoking !!! it's like I know that my intakes will be a lot better and my chances on binging are going to be lower cause that was the biggest thing in my way.
    EDIT: 4:00pm
So I finished all my classes!!! Just took my last final and I'll get the results probably on Sat or Monday! ~ Hoping to get A's. Anyways husband's home from work ( rained out ) and isn't very happy. I don't know what's wrong but he's in a really pissy mood and basically had a freak out playing call of duty 4....he's in the shower now and usually I'd be in there talking to him but he just doesn't seem to want to do anything with me or anyone right now. I haven't eaten anything so far today....weird. But I'm in a pretty good place and am not even hungry. I know I'll probably have to eat something for dinner. love and luck girls

TTT FOR THE DAY: ( most are repetitive from the past etc. but it helps me to read them as much as possible )
    • Celery actually burns calories. Every hour  eat a stalk of it. Not only will it fill you up, but it'll also get your metabolism kicking.

    • When you feel you need to eat, list the reasons why it's not such a good idea, by then you'll most likely lose the craving, and you'll have convincing reasons not to eat.

     • Coffee on an empty stomach it will make you feel sick

    • Always wear a rubber band on your wrist, when you're tempted - twang, you won't be for long.

    • Make a trigger/thinspiration book filled with dieting tips, quotes, safe foods, and anything else that will trigger you into not eating.

    • If you're in college, plan your schedule so that it spreads throughout the day that way you won't have long gaps of time where you can pig out.

    • Whenever you get hungry, think of all the people who made fun of you when you were fat.

    • Put your fork down in between bites at meal time.

    • Always keep a trash can near you when you eat so if you feel like you are going to over eat, you can just make it a reflex action to throw the food away.

    • If you're annoyed at your family for always trying to make you eat breakfast with them, tell them (while holding your stomach with your arms and looking like you're about to puke) that you always feel sick after you eat in the morning so early.

    • If you have to cook for your family, make sure it's something that takes a long time to cook so that way when it's done and you're ready to eat it, you will be full just by the smell and waiting and you won't be able to finish it all .It also helps to drink a lot of water while you're waiting, as that fills you up, too.

    • If you throw food in the trash can in your bedroom, make sure you get rid of the bag before going to bed otherwise it will reek in the morning.

    • Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses a day.

    • Exercise and sweat, when you sweat you burn calories

    • If you have a craving for sugar, try fat-free, sugar free Jell-O. It's only 10 cals per serving, if you want you can eat the whole bowl and its only 40 cals.

    • After you eat brush your teeth. You won't want to eat when you have that minty taste on your teeth.

    • Get tape or those roll up bandages and wind them tightly around your stomach, it stops you from eating because you can't get the food down properly and you also look thinner.

    • If you eat at night before you go to bed make sure you lay on your left side it makes the food go through your system faster and wont have as much time to suck fat out of the food. but you shouldn't eat before you go to bed slows down your metabolism.

    • just keep yourself extremely busy, almost to the point of being completely stressed out and you can go for 8 hours without being hungry or wanting to eat

    • If you live with your parents, go to bed early & sleep late to avoid some meals, then go out in the day, & say you've eaten a lot. Also, keeping busy will burn more calories

    • Remember, out of sight is out of mind. If there are goodies lying around on the counters or table; put them away and/or hide them. That way whenever you walk through the kitchen you won't be tempted

    • get comfy in bed, being comfy means you don't want to move, which means no getting up to get food

    • To get a slimmer belly, do as many crunches as you can stand. And then go to bed so you're well rested and not hungry

    • If you have a terrible craving, turn on the T.V.! Most likely, SOME sort of show will be on with skinny, gorgeous actresses/models. It's a definite way to curb an appetite

    • If you need to eat out, some ways you can avoid food are:  Turn vegan, makes it hard to find suitable food, claim you have severe food allergies (always a good answer when they offer chocolate), or order something that you've never tried before. When you taste it, say you don't like it.

    • Remember... Beating hunger is mostly a matter of distraction. Try not to be alone if you really want to ignore your hunger.

    • use your mind - think about what the food would look like in your body after you have eaten it... hopefully that will put you off

    • When you're cooking, make sure you chew gum at the same time so you won't be tempted to take lil' bites of the stuff you're cooking

    • If you're with your family or something, and you're at a buffet, spend most of the time acting like you're picky, and walk around the buffet tables. Then just get a little something and spit it in your cup or something. Sneak in some exercise too while you're walking

    • Drink a glass of water every hour it will make you feel full

    • If you live on your own or have a lot of privacy, tape/tack up pictures of your favorite models and always carry one around with you, when you're hungry pull out the picture. if you live on your own tape them up on the fridge, freezer, and cupboards (just remember to take them down or cover them when people come over)

    • If you're a smoker and you're hungry, light up a cigarette - it curbs your appetite and you no longer feel hungry

    • In the morning, cut up an apple into eight pieces. eat two for breakfast, two for lunch, two for supper and two a few hours before you sleep, make sure to drink water with it so you can feel a little more full

    • Make up places to go. say you're going to a friends house for dinner, or going out to a restaurant, and then just go somewhere where you can't eat

    • If you are really craving food, brush your teeth with a strong mint toothpaste, this helps to put me off food because of the taste it leaves behind

    • When you are hungry do something gross; like dig for worms, clean a kitty litter box or something; it will make you not hungry

    • When drinking water.. drink ICE COLD water... your body has to burn calories to keep your body temperature up

    • GUM!!!! get the sugar free kind and chew baby chew

    • Sleep at least 6 hours a night. Less than 6 hours sleep a night stimulates appetite by 15%

    • Lower the temperature in your house 10 degrees to burn more calories, or take a icy cold shower/bath. Like drinking the ice water, it is cause your body burns calories warming you back up

    • If you're really hungry, buy a bag of low fat low cal hard candies. when you suck on them a lot your stomach will tell you that you are full

    • Try drinking more hot beverages, especially in fall and in winter.

    • Spicy foods raise your metabolism and burn slightly more calories than foods

    • If you feel like you want to eat, go to a friends house where you can't raid the fridge at

    • When you go out take only a few bucks with you so when you walk past the pastry shops you can't afford anything

    • Before you dig into that carton of ice cream, bag of chips, etc., take a deep breath and count to 100. Usually, by the time you stop counting you will have convinced yourself that you don't really need it

    • Write a note to yourself listing all the reasons you are finally ready to lose weight. Keep this letter with you at all times, for inspiration

    • Drink ice water. The body burns up to 40 negative calories just by turning up its metabolism in order to warm the water

    • Eat your sweets at breakfast. Than way you can burn it over during the day

    • If you love a certain food, save the wrappers even after you've eaten it. Smell it when you're hungry

    • Don't Swallow! Take a bite, chew, and spit it out

    • Sit up straight. You'll burn at least ten percent more calories sitting upright than reclining

    • If you're being watched, try the opaque cup trick; pretend you're eating, and spit the food in the cup while you pretend to be drinking - don't forget to get rid of what's in the cup

    • Go to the kitchen often, and pretend you're snacking, take a bite out of something and take a long time, look in the fridge, ETC! they will think you're always in the kitchen eating, and won't suspect anything..

    • Go Vegan or vegetarian or just cut out red meat...meat and meat products have a lot of fat in them

    • When you got hunger pains curl up in a ball. It really helps them go a way.

    • Hit your stomach when it grumbles because that will make the sound go away and your stomach will hurt too much to eat.

    • Persuade yourself that you don't like a food. Brainwash yourself into thinking yuck when you see food.

    • Always leave at least 3 hours between eating anything and going to sleep.

    • Hide your food in a ziplock back if you eat by yourself. Remember to dispose it later.

    • Take a Polaroid of yourself naked and every time you want to eat just look at the picture a see how gross you look.

    • When you have a craving for sweets, have 'crystal light' sugar free candies. They're really good, and are HALF the calories of normal hard candy

Make a list of all the "bad" foods that you crave and tend to binge on. Each day, pick one to take out of your diet that you absolutely, no matter what, cannot eat again. Take one off the list each day until there are no more bad foods you can have.

Avoid alcohol! A shot of liquor has 100-120 calories, a glass of wine has 80 calories, a lite beer has 110-120 calories, and a regular beer has 140-170 calories.

Make your work outs more fun, dance to your fave CD, and do gymnastics, go skating, etc. Running every day can get really old, plus if you always do the same thing, you have a bigger chance of hitting plateaus.

Never eat anything bigger than about a cup, your stomach will expand and then you'll get hungry more.

It takes twelve hours for the body to start feeding off of its own fat.

Eat in front of a mirror naked. See how much you can eat then!

Hit your stomach (just not too hard) if it's growling too loudly.

Curl up in a ball if you have hunger pains.

The smell of coffee is suppose to suppress appetite.

Wear perfectly applied lip gloss. It makes you more aware of what's going in your mouth. Also, flavored ones help with cravings.

Throw away the foods you think you'll binge on.

When going out, take only the amount of money you'll need. Nothing extra, that way you won't be tempted to spend it on food.

Sitting up straight and having good posture burns 10% more calories than when you slouch.

Have 6 small meals a day. Take 2 apples, and split them so you can make 6 meals out of them. That way your body will be tricked into thinking it's eating more.

Eat what you crave, but in moderation. Only a few bites of it. Enjoy it and eat it slowly.

Low calorie hot chocolate curbs chocolate cravings, and makes you feel full.

Find a buddy online, and do fasts with them, competitions, or just have someone to email when you're craving.

Take a picture of yourself wearing a bathing suit or something equally revealing, look at it when you want to eat.

Wear a rubber-band around your wrist and snap it against your skin when you are tempted to eat.

Take anti-heartburn pills if you're really hungry. They neutralize the acid that builds and makes you hungry.

If you eat right before bed, lay on your left side so the food goes through your system faster.

Chew gum if you need to cook so you won't eat any of the food.

Drink a glass of ice cold water every hour; it will make you feel full.

When you get hunger pains curl into a ball, it makes them go away.

It takes 20 minutes for the brain to realize the stomach is full.

When you're hungry, chew sugar free gum. Peppermints also help to decrease hunger.

If you're a smoker and hungry, light up a cigarette. It curbs your appetite.

Before you dig into that cake, bag of chips, candy, or whatever, take a deep breath and count to 100. Usually by the time you get to 100 you will have convinced yourself that you don't really want it.

Eat lots of fiber. It makes you feel full and takes fat with it out of your body. The natural cleansing helps improve both your energy level and overall feeling of wellness.

Sleep at least 6 hours a night. Less than 6 hours of sleep a night stimulates appetite by 10-15%.

If you're ever feeling tempted, just remember the 4 D's:
     Distance yourself from the food;
     distract yourself;
     Delay eating;
decide what your goals really are.

Caffeine speeds up metabolism. Have at least 2-3 servings a day.

Eat ice cubes; they give you the feel like you're eating something and the coldness can actually burn calories.

When you're hungry chug 2 glasses (or how many you need) of straight water. It'll make you so full and nauseous you will have completely lost your appetite.

Spin in circles, you will be too nauseous to eat.

If you're right handed, eat with your left hand. It will take a lot longer to get the food to your mouth.

If eating any sweets, eat them at breakfast. This way you have the rest of the day to burn them off.

Find something that makes you feel ill or unpleasant and think or look at it as you eat. After a while you make begin to associate food itself with unpleasantness.

Fidgeting burns 500-800 extra calories a day. Suck in your tummy and squeeze your buns, bounce your legs, sway side to side, swing your feet, etc.

Studies show that the more food you're given, the more food you eat.

Celery actually burns calories. Every hour eat a stalk of it. Not only will it fill you up, but it will also get your metabolism kicking.

Take a shower. Hot steamy water can suppress your appetite and paying close attention to your body will remind you exactly why you're losing weight in the first place.

When eating, put down your silverware or sip water in between each bite. Your stomach will feel full faster and you are less likely to overeat.

If you don't already, drink diet sodas instead of regular soda. Pepsi One had no calories and tastes like a regular Pepsi. They can also bloat your stomach, making you less hungry.

Drink at least two quarts of water each day. This helps control your appetite. Sometimes a feeling of hunger is actually thirst. Additionally, water is necessary to carry away the breakdown byproducts of fat. Carry a little sport bottle at all times. If you feel hungry, take a drink.

Chew every bite at least thirty times. Your food will taste better and you will be much more satisfied. Don't swallow until all the flavor is gone from of each bite.

Pay attention to when and what you are eating. Ask yourself: "Do I really want to eat this?"

Weigh yourself before and after every time you eat. Not only will it eliminate unnecessary eating, but it will make you want to eat less when you see the numbers creep up.

This tip will only work if you live alone or live with someone who dieting (or just doesn't care). Find pictures of overweight people and put them in various places around your house...put some near the TV, to remind you to exercise, put some near the trigger foods (you know the ones) to remind you that that is how you will look if you eat that. If you are living with someone on a diet they will most likely agree to this if you tell them it’s a proven fact that it helps weight loss.

When dining out, no matter what the waiter says about the fat or calorie content of food assume everything is covered with butter, even the silverware.

Plan your day; Try to decide what you will eat and when, so you don't have to discover after the fact that you have gone over your calorie limit.

Read the nutritional information. Remember, fat-free does not mean calorie-free. Also keep an eye on fiber content. Get as much fiber into your diet as you can, while cutting fat and calories.

Get more exercise. On top of working out or dancing or whatever you do, increase your daily exercise other ways. Take stairs instead of elevators or escalators. Walk your dog. Walk to the corner store instead of driving. Choose the parking spot farthest from the store when you do drive. Sneak extra movement in wherever you can. Every little bit burns a few more calories.

Cleaning something dirty can make you lose your appetite. The toilet, the litter box, under the kitchen sink, scrubbing out the garbage bin, anything grimy or smelly. The mess, along with the smell of the cleaner, can put you off food for a while.

Make it a rule that you always have to burn twice the calories you consume (i.e., if you ate something with 100 calories, you would have to burn 200). The thought of all the exercising you would have to do can be very discouraging.

When feeling hungry drink something hot. It expands your intestinal tract and makes you feel fuller.

Diet pills can really help you out. They give you extra energy to work out (great for avoiding fatigue when you're fasting). Don’t get addicted or your metabolism will depend on them. Take them for a week, then don’t take them for a week, off and on, so your metabolism will survive.

Don't eat a lot a once. Spread your food throughout the day. This will help to avoid binging and keep your metabolism going.

If your working out a lot and getting sore muscles, make sure you're drinking enough water. If you're still sore all the time, try using icy hot or heating pad to keep muscles from cramping.

Turn the temperature down in your car/house, or open windows in your room at night, so that you'll be colder and your body will have to burn calories to keep warm.

If you like to drink, you'll like this. Make a rule: You can only drink every time you lose 2lbs. So, if you lose 4lbs a week, you can drink Friday and Saturday night. However, if you only lose 2lbs a week, you only get to drink one night.

If you work out early in the morning before you've eaten anything, you're going to be burning maximum fat. If you eat before workout out, you're just going to burn off the food rather than fat. So, avoid eating an hour before your work out. You should also avoid eating right after you exercise because your body will stop burning fat and go straight to burning to the food.

Go for long walks. It not only burns calories and keeps you away from food, but can be relaxing and of course, healthy.

Do not eat in front of the computer or TV. This distracts you from recognizing you're full.

Keep a journal or diary or whatever to record what you've eaten.

Drink 3 cups of green tea a day. It’s really good for you, de-toxes and speeds up your metabolism which is always a good thing.

When you lose weight reward yourself with something you want (not food obviously). Shopping is always good.

Always have the radio on and get into the habit of dancing along. You may look like a fool but you'll burn calories.

Kelp pills will speed up your metabolism.

Eat lots of fruits and veggies.

Instead of buying food, buy yourself flowers. Food is depressing, but flowers make you happy.

Exchange a bad habit for a good one (i.e. someone trades smoking for jogging). This may be hard, but very rewarding if you can do it. Exchange eating for yoga, or meditation, or reading more.

Think higher of yourself! You're too good to put THAT in your body!

Save the money you would have spent on that meal in a jar. Save it in a bottle instead and watch it grow.

Eat vicariously. Watch other people eat, and feel superior! You don't need that food. They are feeding their fat bodies and they're getting fatter! You can see then growing! How repulsive.

Make a notebook of thinspiration - notes, letters, thoughts and especially pictures of your goal.

Brush your teeth frequently. A fresh mouth helps keep you from wanting to eat.

Different sleeping habits. Go to bed later than everyone else, so you can exercise while they're sleeping. Wake up later, and have a light breakfast when they eat lunch, they'll think nothing of it.

Stay away from Slim-fast and other so-called "healthy" candy bars and shakes... one look at the nutrition facts will tell you why. With all the carbs and excess calories you may as well go eat a pie or something. Not to mention the ridiculous prices... save yourself the money, and the calories.

Spicy foods raise your metabolism and burn slightly more calories than other foods. They'll also help keep you from getting bored with the same old boring low-cal stuff.

If you feel like you want to eat, go to a friend’s house that you cannot just raid the fridge at.

Drink 2 tbsp of vinegar before the meal, so (apparently) it will help suck the fat out of it.

Spoil your food. As soon as you've cooked/served up your meal, put too much salt, pepper, sauce, (or even detergent) on it. That way you won't want to eat it!

Tried and True Tips and Tricks

*Drink water! This is the #1 rule for both ana and mia. It fills you up when you are hungry and makes purging easier.
The general rule is also that hot water fills you up more and ice cold water helps you to burn more calories since it
lowers your body temperature so your body has to work harder to stay warm.

*Chew sugar free gum or mints constantly. I am never without one or the other in my mouth. The benefits are endless: it
kills cravings, keeps your mouth full so you can't binge, burns calories by chewing, peppermint flavors suppress
appetites, and prevents bad breath if you are in ketosis.

*Tea of Coffee are an Ana’s best friend. Drink with NO CREAM OR MILK and artificial sweetener ONLY. Tea is especially
great because it comes in so many different flavors and is calorie free, as opposed to black coffee which has an albeit
small amount. The caffeine is also great for raising metabolism.

*Cut food into tiny pieces. Put your fork down between bites. Chew everything a certain number of times. Eat in patterns.
Develop systems of eating. All of this helps to make food a mere object rather than the devil itself.

*Take a sip of water or other calorie-free liquid between each bite. You feel full much faster, partially because the body
often mistakes thirst for hunger, so by drinking, one actually reduces the amount of food their body needs to eat.

*If you are really craving something specific and are on the verge of a binge, go into the kitchen, prepare it, and then
eat it-but do not swallow! Chew it slowly, enjoy it, and then spit it out. Immediately after that rinse your mouth with water
at least three times before swallowing a sip so you do not accidentally ingest any calories.

*If you are about to binge, pick a safe food, preferably negative calorie (pickles, celery, blueberries, etc.) and eat it non-
stop for up to half an hour, taking a sip of water with each bite. Often you will not be able to even get up to half an hour,
and you will be full so the desire to binge will be gone, but you haven't eaten anything "bad."

*No Sugar Added, Fat-Free Fudge Pops. These are the reason I am alive. They have 40 calories in one and taste
exactly like chocolate ice cream. If you must binge, try eating a whole box of these. There are 560 calories in a box of
14, and they are easy to purge.

*Do not ever eat anything you do not know the exact amount of calories in. Sometimes you can fool yourself into thinking
you've eaten less than you have. Remember, numbers do not lie.

*Track progress by measurements and not the scale alone. Scales are affected by everything from the weather to the
time of day, but the numbers on a measuring tape are affected by nothing except the actual size of your body.

*Keep a food diary. Start your own pro-ana page. Make an ed scrapbook. Anything that keeps your mind on not eating
    is a good thing.

*When you want to eat, exercise for at least 15 minutes first. I like to put on nice lyrical music, usually Charlotte Martin or
sometimes classical, and do bare work. It not only distracts you from eating but burns calories and benefits your body as
    well.

*Buy a pair of expensive jeans at least one size too small. Try them on right before you eat. You will either not want to
eat or will eat less. When you lose enough weight to fit into them properly, reward yourself by buying another pair, again
one or two sizes too small.

*Eat low-calorie foods with very intense flavors. Often times you just crave taste. Chili peppers, anything pickled,
peppermints, and very concentrated bullion (make it with half the water recommended) are all good options.

*Make a list of foods that you are absolutely never ever allowed to eat. Write it down and keep it somewhere accessible.
On this list should be things like doughnuts, cake, cream, soda, fatty meats like duck, and any dairy product not made
with skim milk. If you really like any of these things and find it hard to resist, prepare it, but then put something disgusting
all over it (like pouring vinegar on a cream-filled doughnut). Take a bite. You will find you have totally lost your taste for
    the food.

*Diet pills are amazing, but you have to be careful. Try to eat something small and safe when you take one, like an apple
or a small piece of grilled chicken. If you don't then you will get awful side effects. The same goes for taking more than
the recommended amount. I have taken four stacker 3 pills with no food and almost ended up dead because of it. Use,
    but with caution.

*If you must go out to eat, go to the restaurant’s web page before hand, and find something safe to eat. Do not eat
bread or appetizers. Order a salad with dressing on the side if everyone else is having appetizers. If there is nothing
safe on the menu most places will make you a plain piece of grilled chicken or fish if you ask.

*Never drink soda. There is absolutely no reason to. Even diet soda will actually make you look bloated and weigh a little
    more.

    Day's Journal Entry:

Today's day 3 of my personal challenge. I woke up rather reluctantly seeing as though the backs of my thighs are killing me from weeding and putting the stone on the walls yesterday.  It's really hard work!!! I'm sorry I ended my post abruptly yesterday, my husband started coming over and I didn't want him to know that I only ate a small piece of pizza yesterday when I told him I ate more, though I did look suspicious posting it mid sentence. Anyways my kids woke up early with me too. ( at 6:30 for them ) at least they'll be able to go to sleep earlier tonight. I've felt guilty since they're always seeming to sleep in and I keep them up later because of that. I think it's going to rain though. The week's forecast is all rain and storms! And humid and hot.....bummer. But I'm thankful for it today since I didn't get anything down on my homework yesterday. I need to kick butt today and get some shit done. If I can get one assignment done or even to the point that I could finish it within an hour or so tomorrow then I'll be happy. God I feel just bloated! I am really hoping beyond hope that I don't gain or stay the same weight by next Monday. I mean my intake is good, I guess, and my outtake is alright for me......just worried. I think I'm "supposed" to get my period... ( though I don't really "get" it ~ just the PMS and cramps and bloating ) UUGH! I have to think positively!!! I will lose weight! I will get thin!!
    EDIT: 6:20pm
So I didn't really do much today. I finished another class ( horray ! 2 down one to go ) and made more banana bread ( husband asked me nicely ) my exercises, laundry, cleaning around the house and that's about it. I'm glad that I've gotten that class done so that I have the next 3 days to get this last class over with....but I'm really wanting to just relax and get stoned and I can't! My husband said he was quitting with me...even though it's for a possible job I really doubt that he will. He's told me for years that he'd quit and hasn't yet, it's been over 2 years since either one of us has gone more than a day without it. It's tough and my kids are bouncing off the walls... don't know where all the energy is coming from since they were up at 6:30 ( way before they normally do ) but I didn't bring them outside. It didn't rain but it's in the 90's and really humid out....yeah , like hell I'm going to sit out there and watch you play. Anyways my husband's still working. He had to take our roommate's truck since he forgot our car's keys in our friend Tito's car last night ( dumbass ) oh well. Anyways I'm going to stagger through the next 45 minutes until I can put the kids down and if my husband's not home yet I'll probably try to get in a few more exercises or work on my final class. Thanks for the support!!! I really appreciate it and it helps me out. love and luck girls.
