A Breaking Heart Breaks QuietlyA breaking heart breaks quietly. You can't hear it You can't feel it. But if you listen real real close, you'll hear it stop beating for a moment. You might feel it tremble and pause for a moment. A breaking heart breaks quietly But you can see the signs: The tear-stained face of a young girl, The downcast eyes of a somber child. The man who buries himself in his work, not stopping to look up. A broken heart sheds tears instead of blood. A broken heart breaks quietly The surface is decorated with ripples, But underneath, the current kills. You can dazzle the world with your smile til you nearly convince yourself. But when you're tucked away and the lights are out, You'll sob hard just the same. A broken heart breaks quietly, You can't always know who it is. The child whose parents fight each night; The boy whose father beats him. The girls who feels a Failuer; unloved, unwanted, Failure. The man who feels disrespected, unappreciated, forgotten. The woman who's lost her husbands care and lives to gain it back. A broken heart breaks quietly And you don't always know just why. So don't judge the actions of others There's always a story you don't know. Don't judge by what you see, Because there just may be a dying heart bleeding away inside. All you can do is love, and pray that heart will beat once more. Because your love is salve to the wounds of a quietly breaking heart. Rebekah Kenyon P.S. Go look at my audioblog and listen to the song on there...it's the only one, called Heartache. I can't figure out how to put it on my page, so you'll just get a little extra workout clicking once or twice more. ;-P |
