| Michael Phelpsthis'll be short.
Phelps was interviewed jus now [or i jus saw it on tv], and he talked about his childhood. he happened to be a normal subject of ridicule and social torture when he was young. people would make fun of his attire, flick his ears, and someone even had the nerve to push him off the bus.
recently, someone from his childhood came up to him and asked "hey do u remember me? we went to school together." to which phelps replied he had no idea who the person was. his mother told him he knew that person quite well. phelps said yes he knew, but that person 'tortured' him in swim meets when they were younger, so he wouldn't acknowledge their acquaintance.
and only now, with phelps' performance in the olympics, several random people from throughout his life are trying to add him on facebook...only now, and with a good number of these individuals being phelps' bullies.
i felt really happy about this guy's story. it sounds like he was a nerdy/unpopular kid in his school days, and he worked hard to achieve the glory he deserves. and now people wanna bask in his glory by being in his existence. it's pretty tight how this trivial situation parallels many people on the net, with their growing lust for friendship. i'm happy to find out that he turns these people away, because respect is received when given, and so is friendship.
power to phelps for being one of my heroes. im shure hes a hero to many of you ^^
| eeeeEEEHHHH?rant and recap of my opinion of tonight's episode of abdc. it's only natural because i am sad yet again.
honestly i thought both crews weren't all that. lol. straight up ^^
so i was waiting for the first round to happen. it was an interesting thought to see different dance forms. super crew did pretty well u know? african piece was VERY basic, mostly highlighting the bboy moves in the middle rather than the actual art. it was cool to see that interesting dance form that eddie guardo does in tekken. its some derivative of his name, but super crew emphasized it pretty well. nothing else to talk about really. they did something they saw in the video, then made it bboy somehow. thas it.
then soreal came up. it was a lil emotional watching their interview, wit JC calling them out and all. then again, every crew is interviewed to show them sad as hell so they can get sympathy. ALTHOUGH super crew doesn't really have to work for nething. they're already known u know? soreal sounded a bit more truthful, cuz its no joke that the south is pretty small town for the hip hop scene. soreal struggles as it is to find a dance studio, so its expected that theyre one of the only dance crews around.
but deng they did terrible in the first round. at first i noticed it wasn't that energetic. then the judges totally picked out all the mistakes and lack of sync, forgotten moves, aw it was sad to watch. i can't even bear to rewatch the performance cuz its jus embarrassing. it's like, when u try to interpret a dance form from a different region in the world, and somehow make it like, pop-locking or hip hop in general, it's gonna be awkward. i can only imagine wat fanny pak wud have come up with. now THAT would have been a tight performance for this challenge.
mmm, 2nd round was making a "hit" i guess u wud say. each crew saw music producers in hopes of setting up a new trend in dance moves. this is pretty evident in usher's "Yeah", or songs that are all about that dance move like "lean wit it rock wit it" or "lean back" or "lean like a cholo" [yes that had a bit of sarcasm and laughter as i wrote that].
first off, i thought it was hilarious watching the crowd perform these moves. iono wen i saw some of the white girls "throwing an S to the chest/sky" i cuddnt help but giggle and shake my head in shame. it was definitely a boring routine on super crew's part, cuz they were sloppy, one guy messed up an elbow slide, and it's pretty funny to picture everybody in the club doing this move. iono.
soreal expanded their explosion idea with "smash it up". of the two songs, i thought this one was slightly better [i'm not a rap person at all], and for some reason i totally felt like they were gonna start krumping because wenever they stuck out their chest to bring out their arms, it jus looked intimidating. if nething, it was more of a move the crowd cud do without looking TOO stupid. u know what? at the end of that song, i cud have sword i hear the souljah boy "Yahhh" ahahaha.
so after these two performances, where its obvious that the crowd was FORCED to learn and perform the move so as to show that its "trendy" in any way, i was jus like, deng this is a horrible episode. wat wud fanny pak do? ahaha. i can't help it. fanny pak wud have made this 'championship' so much better. nothing much more to say about that round.
wen i think about it, both dance moves suck pretty bad >.< iono i think i only liked soreal's move because it cud be made into a thunder clap? ew i sound so white wen i talk like this. [end]
mmm the final round.
super crew was so whack. period. u know what they shud call themselves? super men [which sounds pretty funny]. they totally showed how much of a crew they AREN'T. right from the beginning, it goes into an individual bboy set, into 3 bboy sets with two different members. they like, wasting 45 seconds highlighting each person, and then wen they finally came together, they weren't together at all. i can't voice enough SLOPPY unless u guys see it for urself. i cringed during this performance. Tsk u know?
soreal finally made me proud in their last performance. i watched a piece by brian puspos a while back which featured the song "a millie" and i was worried that they wud jus carbon copy that [although it is a tight routine], but it was almost completely original and it made me excited. right at the beginning, it was that hip hop classical music like i've heard done with "moonlight sonata", but they used the more popular "fur elise" and with strait jackets. i was like ohhhh snap. how sketchy. then wen the music cued, for some reason it jus sounded so good even though i hate lil wayne with a passion [a LOT]. i gotta give props to his beats cuz theres been some tight choreography lately to those pieces. NEways, the way i see it, soreal was finally able to do what they wanted and wat they're best at. of course it's not a good thing that they excel so much in their field because that shows how they aren't versatile. again, they're like kaba modern. it's too much to ask for to be more than one style. jabbawockeez had it made because every member was awesome at pop-locking and doing basic bboy moves, then they had a good portion who could do their stunts as well as explosive highlights.
its pretty sad wen ppl complain that soreal recycled a routine when really it was only two moves. and look. kaba and jabba TOTALLY ripped off past routines for their audition and premiere pieces. ru seriously gonna give soreal a bad rep for doing two of the same moves of a previous choreo? thas pitiful. look at super crew. they do six steps [sick step?] every routine. and that's more entertaining than gliding and sensual movement? shure.
and how ru gonna say that soreal does the same thing over nd over. i notice ppl on msgboards and youtube saying soreal is fake and they do the same thing over and over [namely gliding and being limber]. REALLY? so doing bboying isn't the same thing over and over again, but it's all different and Creative. yes.
mmm i can't wait to see fanny pak next week during those regional collaborations. west coast is definitely gonna be animated with them and super crew.
other than that, wata boring way to wait for the show's end. instead of me saying "i can't wait", i CAN freaking wait because it's obvious that super crew is gonna win. they made soreal look bad simply based on the crowd and u can't overlook their praise from the judges.
i was pretty surprised at how truthful lil mama was today actually...
ew.
i still say vote for soreal cuz they Deserve it. i think they beat super crew 2-1 tonight, but thas jus my opinion. i'll send in a couple votes since i actually don't care now. both crews don't really show that they're the best so watever.

| Mo freaking Eiono what got me into asian drama mode, but i've jus watched some of the most inspirational stuff of my life. can't believe i straight up watched two asian dramas within a span of 3 days.
so on saturday night, as i wrote in my last blog, i watched 9 episodes of Densha Otoko straight until 6 in the morning. and it was pretty unhealthy of me to do so when i had to attend a ministry fair from 9am-12pm, as well as a short interval during 5pm. i got one hour of sleep during that whole mess, watching the olympics at jon's house. i ended up finishing the 2 or 3 episodes left, as well as the special when i got home. it was pretty deng surprising that i didn't get ne more sleepier than i was.
Itoh Misaki... Aye.

at first i was lik watever u know? she's obviously an older actress and she's pretty deng tall for a japanese lady. but Deng she is such a freaking convincing actor in this piece. i couldn't help but feel pain in my chest when i saw the 'drama' happen. neways, the biggest thing i noticed about Densha Otoko is that i pulled an all-nighter watching it. that's one of the reasons why i wouldn't call it ordinary. it pains me to see on the jdorama site that this is not even in the top 10, but then again i still haven't watched the rest of the top 10 so i can't really make an opinion. but WOW it can really jus give you a slap in the face. it really related to ME as a person, but it also has a good physical representation of acting out the message the story wants to convey. it's also a plus that this drama was based off of a true story. if nething, this is the drama that makes me wanna watch more dramas. after watching just one episode, i've been hooked on my laptop, wasting my eyes away through tears of joy and sadness.
take the past 15 hours for example... i straight up watched the 1st season of gokusen as well as the 1.5 hour special. i got hooked on that for some reason too. i think i'm jus in the mood? or gokusen was probably just that freaking good. then again, it IS ranked #2 on the jdorama website. eh.
i fear that i'm going to start Orange Days and do yet another marathon of that. aye.
Horikita Maki [whew]

a while back, i watched a series called Hana Kimi. that was a pretty funny series, but it really opened my eyes to this actress for some reason [i know i'm living in my fantasy world >.<]. OF COURSE i looked her up on the jdorama site. funny thing is, her birthday is october 6th, 1988. shes almost a year older than me lol. but gawd i saw her smile and i jus melted.
it's pretty pointless to blog about dramas and animes when you can't reveal ne plot or themes, but i gotta get it out of my system about how freaking good Densha Otoko is. i never knew i could get SO worked up as i did while i watched the drama unfold. i never knew i could cry more than 3 times in the same episode, given that it IS all subtitles and a lot of it is jus putting eye drops in your eyes to make it look emotional. GAH i'm a sucker for japanese girls.
| ...It's Officialthis is sad.
i was expecting to get sleepy, but no0o0o.
it's official guys.
this is the first time i have pulled an all-nighter watching asian dramas.
i can't believe i straight up watched 7 episodes of Densha Otoko, but they jus decided to make some cliffhangers.
i wonder how many times i loled...
deng i wonder if i rank this higher than hana yori dango?
| Abooga booga boogaI feel good. oh i feel so good. I feel fine, most of the time. abooga, abooga, abooga booga booga.
so i can't sleep right now, and it's partly my fault for messing up my sleep pattern the past week by getting addicted to final fantasy viii, so i'll probably be awake for another two hours.
so i was hoping i cud get to sleep by watching some random animes or dramas.
i decided to pick up a j-dorama called "Densha Otoko". i won't tell you guys the translation because it's somewhat of a spoiler, or maybe not iono.
but i really can't like, put into words how freaking excited i get watching this drama. there's not really hooks or cliffhangers from the first 4 episodes, but i am getting into that addiction to watch it within a day... it's just more exciting when i'm tired prolly. and then when it's late, i get worried that i'll become nocturnal, and i don't want that... especially right now, i'm hurting myself because i have to attend 9am mass and recruit people at the ministry fair.
nEWAYs, it's that classic story about the nerd that gets a call from fate with a beautiful woman. and it's just like, seriously a dream come true. it's an awesome interpretation different themes like encouragement, fellowship, and being true to yourself.
for me, it's that feeling of hope that can come to any guy that makes it inspiring. ahhh i shud have watched it earlier in the day >.<
each episode i watch, i can't stop smiling or feeling light in my chest. i've been tearing up like no other because of really subtle stupid things that i find nothing short of AMAZING. and it's funny because its a comedy and i'm totally shedding random tears at stupid spots.
ill mos def do a review wen i finish this one. the "pretty lady" is freaking pretty lol.
