| | Hmm... and what of depth?I have been daydreaming quite a bit lately.. so here goes nothing.
Surah Zukhruf, Adornments of Gold.
1) Ha Mim.
2) By the Book that clarifies.
3) We have revealed this Quran in arabic, so that you might acquire Wisdom.
4) It is in the Mother of the Book in our presence; elevated in dignity, full of Wisdom.
5) Shall we then revoke this message and forsake you, for you are a people given to transgression?
I opened the Quran, and read the first page. What a dilemma. As patient as the most patient of us are, wouldn't we all give up on students who not only refuse to learn, but mock the very subject matter and then have the gall to throw ridicule on the message and instead of pondering the knowledge, they spread corruption and wickedness?
And Allah subhanah wa ta'ala warns, "Will I take away the light I have given you and let you stumble blindly in the dark, until inevitably I will exact my retribution on you for your transgressions?"
And we are still marred by petty indulgence.. foolish dreams that do not even grasp the least bit of what the greatest conquerors and leaders of history seized, rather, only reduce us to pathetic rubbish at the feet of men. I do not know why I tell people this, but if you want to sell your soul, atleast get the entire world and all it contains, because Iblis can and will arrange that for you if you are a decent businessman. But in reality, most people get far, far less, and I think Shaitan himself is embarrassed at how cheap he purchases souls on the daily basis.
Think about it from his point of view... he promised to fill Hell with as many of Adam's children as possible, to which Allah (SwT) responded, "And you will have no power over my righteous servants." This must have been a killjoy in the mind of Shaitan, because it is a challenge of sorts. At that moment he realized that his time will end when our time as a race ends, and he realized from that point on that it may not be as easy as he thought to lead us all in herds to the depths of hell... but as time progressed, he fulfilled much of his promise, even though Allah refers to his (shaitan's) plans as "feeble, and weak."
Even the most feeble of plans are effective against an even more depraved, and intellectually bankrupt human race.
So how shocking is this question of Allah's? He proposes that he could simply remove the light that allows us to make our way through life and hopefully acquire the eternal. And perhaps we do deserve it, because we come up short even against the feeblest of connivers, Shaitan.
Do not get me wrong. Shaitan is a shrewd dealer. He will only give you as much as is required to allow you to slip and fall.. and he knows that making you slip is nowhere near enough, because Allah's mercy is so abundant that even if we had no means to get up, we could simply ask for forgiveness and it would be there. While he is not so amazed when you fall, he truly desires that you do not back up.
And Allah proposes:
6) But how many were the Prophets We sent amongst the peoples long past?
7) Never did we send them a Prophet except that they made a mockery thereof.
8) So we Destroyed them utterly, and they were mightier than you; and hence have reached you the Parables of the Peoples long Past.
So, shall you mock Allah in your feebleness, to the glee of your avowed enemy Shaitan? Remember, Allah created you and Shaitan, and he could leave you stumbling in the darkness of this world. You can see the tattered steps of all those who have lost their way, and the hideous results thereof. Do not fear the feeble plans of Shaitan, fear your inability to discern them, and fear that Allah will withold his grace from you. Shaitan is even more adept at vaguely quantifying the mercy of God than you are, and this is why he is afraid that after all his hard work, you will still enter paradise. So with that, trade your soul for something which only Allah can provide.
Salaam alaikum wa Rahmatullah.
