And we go around again....

You are still always on my mind...

Sunday, April 13, 2008

Sometimes you just can't help but feel like you're being swept along in the flow of things.  It's like you're being picked up by the current of life and carried down the river whether you like it or not.  But is it really so?  Is there really any event that you find yourself in that you didn't have a hand in getting yourself in?  This is the question I have faced for quite some time now.  It's not a matter of happiness or unhappiness; it's merely a question of how you arrive at your current state of being.

Today was 桜祭り and the street fair in DC.  I actually went for pretty much the whole day and ended up a lot more exhausted than I thought I'd be by the end of it all.  It was pretty fun, though, and I was able to hang out with a friend I haven't been able to hang out with for a long time.  AND The weather ended up being really, really nice today.  It was actually hot.  I was sweating just walking to the metro.  It was only slightly less sunny in DC with the occasional sprinkle, but the sun always came back out.  I got the usual たこ焼き which seems to have become a street fair staple for me, and also お好み焼き!  I also got the same cinnamon almonds that I got last year--also very tasty.

Last night I went to small group like usual, but it ended up unusually fun and interesting.  After the meeting was over, I was able to spend a good amount of time in a very stimulating debate with Gilbert.  I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it, but I'm thankful he gave me his patience and didn't get offended or upset about anything.  We did end up going in some circles, and in the end neither of us budged from our views, but it was really fun being able to debate this kind of stuff with someone.  I hope I can continue to study these things in depth.

I have been able to start playing the new, the improved, the latest version of a really, really fun video game series.... *drum roll* Dynasty Warriors 6!  I know, I know.  It's largely the same as the previous versions, but there are some new features and some very welcome additions.  While they changed the weapons of a lot of the officers, I don't think it sucks.  I was originally a little skeptical when I heard about my favorite officers having such different weapons, but yeah.. it's actually pretty cool.  Now you can jump on horseback, allowing a much speedier way of travel, and you can actually call your horse to you so you don't have to run all the way back to wherever you may have been forced to abandon it.

Alright.. I think that's a pretty good update on how things have been going lately.  I've been battling with some other things lately, too, but I wonder if I'm just being stubborn.  I really don't want to be stubborn, but I can't seem to kick it.  I'll leave that for another time, tho.

For a while now I've been talking about needing a change.  I've done several things to try to get things in gear, but i know that I could have started earlier.  I think I'm finally getting to a place where things are gonna start to pick up.  I need a business name.

This weekend I went to VA Beach to visit my parents.  It was pretty fun, I must say.  I had been looking forward to it all week, too.  The weather was pretty nice on Sat. until sometime in the afternoon when it started getting super windy and the temperature dropped.  It was pretty chilly today, but it wasn't too bad.  We didn't get the usual baskets of candy because my parents figured we were too old.  I had to set them straight on that one. Although, I definitely had enough sweets this weekend, anyway.

More time in the day would be nice... though I really need to work on not squandering the time I do have.  There's always so much to do and so much to get distracted by.  FOCUS--I need focus.  This past week I watched a new show, Nobuta wo Produce, and I really liked it.  I stayed up really late more than a few nights watching episodes, so.. I've been so sleep deprived that I've actually been napping these past few days.  Unfortunately, my body has become used to the whole staying up late thing and now it's gonna be tough to get back to sleeping at a decent hour.  On that note, I'm out.

Happy Easter~!

So much to do...  Anyone have a time machine or a freeze button?  I guess there's a lot going on in my life.  I just don't feel like writing it all down here.  My daily routine is pretty routine.. This week I've been somewhat sticking to my exercise plan, so that's good.  And I've been playing violin more often It'd be nice if I could find a group to play with, or at least one other person.  I really have nothing to complain about, though.  Although there are things in my life that I wish were different, I do feel like I'm doing something about it and hopefully these areas will improve.  I'm glad that I've been in a pretty good mood lately.  Sure there are times when I get down, and there are still things that I'm sad about, but overall I've been in a good mood.  I'm really thankful for that.
I've been thinking a lot about song lyrics lately.  I'm interested in writing some, but I don't really know where to begin.  I can't really get all the things in my head to flow into a coherent expression.  I guess I just gotta try to get something down and go from there.  Same goes for a lot of things, I guess...
There was a lunar eclipse tonight.  Did anyone see it?  It was really cool.  I managed to get some pics but I'm not too sure how they turned out yet.  I'll have to see when I upload them.
