This week's topics:

There was a lot of interest in several of the topics, so we will save those that did not get selected for next week's vote.

We ask that members do not delete the comments of other members. We have established an email account for the Board. We ask that, if you have a comment on your site that seems inappropriate to you, you copy the comment into an email and send it to us. We will attempt to assist you in resolving the situation. The Board email is Soc_Board@hotmail.com. We will make every effort to help you resolve the problem quickly.

Please remember that the main purpose of Socrates Cafe is questions rather than answers and that we need to be open and listen to others' opinions so that we can better review our own. Listening to others helps us think more deeply and can strengthen our own views. It can also help us to understand each other better.

Prospective members, please read the FAQ and be sure that you agree with it. Leave a message saying that you have done that, please. To join, you need to click on the Socrates Cafe Blogring link in the custom module at the left of this site. Then click on "Join this blogring." There is a form to fill out that lets me know that you want to be a member. I try to check regularly for new applications, but leaving me a message in the comments under the current post on this site may help me find your application faster.

The choices for this week are:

The most dangerous philosophy is the idea that no question has definitive answers.

I am in the process of writing about the most dangerous/beneficial philosophy.

I am done writing about the difference between Hades and Hell.

I've lurked around this blogring for a while now, as I read several Xangans who are active members here.  I'm not ready to submit an application to join, but I want to thank the hosts/moderators and everyone who includes his or her thoughts and questions.  It's always interesting to read, and I love opening my mind to new ideas and seeing what fits with what my soul, mind, and heart tell me to be true.  Peace.

Dear Nancy,

I have posted my entry for "What is the most dangerous philosophy?" I'll attempt to get around to question the participants later today, as I have posted prior to the workday's beginning.

Michael F.Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool

True to form, the so-cafe members continue to attack me for stating my opinion on my site.  Thanks for proving the point!

My apologies... I wasn't aware that the SoCafe also controlled the content on the rest of xanga and imposed their rules on others as well.  I seem to have offended some of you by "contributing to something I obviously don't like," as your member so eloquently put it.  Do you honestly think you can tell people what *not* to write about on their own site?  Are you actually that arrogant?
