To sum it all up ..................
The most meaningful part of my trip to NYC was not the awesome
Chinatown food, not the flashing lights of Times Square, not the
delicious Pinkberrys, not the hole-in-your-wallet shoppping, not the
museum knowledge, not the famous places we went to, not the night
time gaming, not the long naps .........
But it was the nights where we as four friends, decided to set time
aside to share our thoughts and struggles, to be real and accountable to
another with the way we were living our lives, where we read chapters
of scripture and talked to God together. The was no hype or glamor in
the manner which we gathered, sometimes I was even reluctant to do
it, but we pushed each other to pray, read and talk every night. I will
never forget those nights, where we as broken, unworthy and sinful
people acknowledged our wretchedness in front of each other and God.
"But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What
is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing
greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost
all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and
be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from
the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness
that comes from God and is by faith. I
want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the
fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his
death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead."
