| Things are starting to get really close. I am very stressed out with applying for scholarships and trying to get all the money raised for my trip. Please pray that I will keep my head focused on what I really need to stay focused on and that is Christ. I think that in tough times I tend to take my focus away from him and turn it onto other things. My mom has been pushing me to get things done and I know that is what mothers are supposed to do but it kinda makes me more discouraged. Just please join me in continuing to pray for this trip. | Wow what a week it has been. Well my purse was stollen last weekend. In it was 1100 dollars that was going towards my trip. I know I know all of you are wondering what the heck I was carrying around that kind of money for right? Well I don't really know where it was stollen from...my car or my classroom. I was going to mail the checks that morning but my mom called and said that I needed to make copies of them for security reasons and my purse was stollen that day. Anyways, I am now really far behind in my payments. However I am fully trusting that the Lord still has his hand in every situation and will provide ALL that I need. Please keep praying for my as the trip gets closer and closer. Thanks you all so much for the donations that you have already sent to me and thanks for the understanding for those of you whose checks were stollen. God is great and will provide. | Last week I sent out my sponsorship letters. That was my first step in fundraising. This week I have begun to recieve many letters and donations back. Thank you all so much for supporting me. Today I had a meeting with Joel Redmond with Milestone Mortgage. The meeting went really well and I enjoyed talking to him. I told him about my trip and how much it was going to cost me and asked him if he would consider sponsoring me. He was very very nice and really helped lighten the mood. I was very nervous about going to talk to him. He was very laid back though and was really interested in my trip. If anyone has any fundraising idea's I would love to hear them. There are many things that I need to get prepaired for my trip and would appreciate any help. Thanks again all of you for keeping up with me and supporting me. God is GREAT! God bless | | |
| Now that Christmas break is over and my family is back from our ski trip I hit the ground running this morning with prepartaions for my trip. I drafted a sponsorship letter today and got copies made and to send out to everyone. I had no idea what kind of time commitment this was going to take. Without my mom to help me I don't know what I would have done. I had to hand address over 150 envelopes and sign over 150 letters. I am just praying that the Lord does great work through those letters with helping me to raise the funds that I need to go on this trip. I will soley have to rely on God for this one because I need a huge amount of money and prayer support to make this trip happen. Please keep me in your prayers. This week and next week I have meetings with a few Christian businessmen to ask for financial support through them as well as my personal family and friends support. Tomorrow I have to go and purchase all the stamps that I am going to need to mail my letters. Thank you all for your prayers. God bless | | |
| I put my down my first payment the other day. A nice chunk of change. :) The youth minister from FBP called and talked to me for a while about my trip. He was telling me that there may be a way for the church to help me out a bit with the cost of my trip. That would be great. Of course we would need to join FBP and I think we are going to do that on Christmas day. I hope at least, not for the money but because we have been very blessed in being at this new church and I love the people there and I love being there every Sunday. I also found out this week that we should have a show in Crosby this summer. Along with South Africa we will be touring some in the United States as well and Crosby is one of the 4 shows in Texas. There is also on in the Woodlands, San Antonio and Longview. I am really excited about that because every one here can see the performance. My mom was going to fly to like Timbucktoo if that was as close to Texas as there was but once again the Lord came through and we have a show in Crosby. I love the feeling you have when you just know that you are in the center of Gods will and he keeps giving you signs to reassure you. I couldn't have imagined that next summer I would be spending 6 weeks on a mission project combining my love for the Lord and my passion for music in the same trip. God has really blessed me and I thank him everyday for these blessings. More to come... God Bless. | | |
