  • Wow.  Just wow.  And, yes, I know it's not a hyperlink - I have to get to class.  :)

  • I missed a day.  Hmm - that'll happen.

I got back to campus today.  It's strange trying to figure out whether I just left "home" or I just got "home."  Maybe just having two homes will have to suffice.  I'm sort of looking forward to tomorrow - for the first half of the semester, I will have an 8am class, then go from class to class and work from 10am to 6pm, with an hour break before two more hours of music rehearsals.  Talk about a long Monday.  I've also got several books taking up space that I'm trying to sell on ebay (English books: Angels in America, Laramie Project, or Fires in the Mirror, anyone?  And yes, it was a liberal professor.  How could you tell?) as well as a several that need to go back to the library.  Plus I'm picking up a few more.  To read in my spare time.  Because I have spare time.  Riiiiight.  I'm not sure what I was thinking.  Correction: I wasn't thinking.

Although I am generally labeled cynical, I love New Year's Resolutions.  I love the idea of starting fresh or starting new. However, the only resolution I have so far is to simply blog more.  (Maybe in future years, one of my resolutions needs to be to make resolutions on time!)  Not necessarily deep thoughts or long posts, but mostly just for myself to remind me of what was going on at a certain time.  So here's the first one.  Nice and short.  ^_^

I worked over Christmas break for our DNR -state government.  I find it a game to see how fast I can do things, os I ended up completing my work much faster than they had anticipated, so for the last few days they usually told me to play solitaire and wait, unless someone could actually find me something to do.  Not bad - playing on the internet and getting paid!  But I had so much free time that I'm pretty sure I read the internet.  I think I read every news article from everything everywhere at every time.  So naturally, I discovered some interesting blogs and fun stuff to read.  I've recently discovered the joy (thanks to Facebook) of posting links and believing that someone actually cares enough to read them.  So beware, any readers left after my long absence; there will be many news links.

I'm chillin' at home right now, just enjoying the calm before the storm.  Tonight I'm pretty excited - mom and dad are going out, two of the little siblings are gone snowmobiling in Wisconsin with friends, my older brother is back at Vanderbilt, and my 10yo brother and I will be home alone.  What shall we do, you say?  Of course!! Finish watching Season 3 of 24.  We're down to the last disc - four episodes.  Owen is my 24 buddy - he puts up with my incessant worrying and fingernail biting while watching it, as well as my incessant "Owen, he's going to die," "Owen, Jack's in trouble..." "Owen what's going to happen next?!" "Owen! Hear that music?  Someone's going to get shot..."  In turn, I put up with his ADD squirming, playing with legos, and also with pausing the DVD all the time so he can go finish a job he, in his 10 year old selective-forgettiveness, didn't do earlier.  We're perfect.  Snow in Baghdad.

Interesting link of the day: I've got it!  Even if I don't blog, I'll post a "link of the day."
    Link of the day: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/01/11/iraq.snow.ap/index.html

Tyler or Mark (or anyone else overseas) did you see it?

EDIT: Thanks to Leeamazon, the link should be corrected.
