Song Recommendation of the Day

"Sign" by Susumu Hirasawa

For sword-making reasons, I recently re-watched the BERSERK animated series (which while extremely bloody, is a very good series--I intend to follow up in the manga from where the series concluded).  As such, I've been getting back into this particular anime/manga, and in particular, the themes of fate vs free will that are presented therein.

As usual, I've come to no new conclusions regarding this topic.  I stand firmly opposed to the idea of fate, but I do think that there are times when things are indeed more than mere coincidence.

In my online wanderings on this series and topic, I came across this curiously haunting battle hymn by Susumu Hirayama, which before this weekend remained previously unknown to me.  "Sign" turned out to be one of those songs that stuck in my head rather ferociously, and I listened to it via youtube all day and night (whilst building swords and quelling drama on Second Life).

On my next monetary whim, I will go out and buy a used version of this PS2 BERSERK game.

Other haunting battle hymns:

"Estranged" by Guns 'n Roses

"The Battle" from the Gladiator OST

"Don't Tread on Me" by Metallica
