  • woah.

So wow, I haven't posted on here since April. I'm sorry Xanga!! Everything looks different around here, though. And what are credits?
I am waiting for my mom to get ready so we can go to the bank. Oh, she just came out and said she was ready.

Anyway.... quickly... I am going to be the music teacher at West and Lonestar Elementary Schools next year. I am kind of excited. I like the little guys. They're so funny, and the activities and stuff you do with them is way more fun also. And plus I will get to live on the lake! Yay for swimming and nice sunrises. I was actually up for one the other day... for a hot second while I was letting the cat out and then I went back to bed. I appreciated it, though.

  • oops

Oops, I almost completely forgot about Xanga. But I just got a pc card, so I can get online more now and you should be happy.
Hawaii is still fun and I love it. I spent the morning snorkle-ing in Kona on Friday, it was amazing! Tons of fishes!! I am transferring ships soon... going to the Pride of America. My ship, the Pride of Hawaii, is getting reflagged (to the Norwegian Jade) and is going to start doing Mediterranean runs. I am staying here on the American line. February 9 is the last day for the Hawaii. We are sailing to LA from the 4th to the 9th, then I'll be shipped back to HI to join the America.  There will be lots of goodbyes that day... I'm not really looking forward to it. That's just like life, though, I suppose... kind of reminds me of a Wicked song, I guess. But I've got some friends on the America that I'm looking forward to seeing, and a lot of my friends are coming with me, so that will be okay. I think I'm coming back to Texas in May.
I'm going to try to call a taxi to come pick me up from Borders because I have to work soon.
You should all leave me comments so that I'll have a reason to come back and visit my Xanga!!!

  • The cruise from...

This week has pretty much been the cruise from the theological place of eternal damnation (we can thank my HS Algebra 2 teacher for that lovely phrase... see, I did learn something in his class...). I'm glad it's over.

It pretty much started on Wednesday. There was an oil spill on the pier on Maui and they wouldn't let us dock there, so we had to spend the WHOLE DAY at sea. Maybe it started on Tuesday night when I got a call from someone who thought they had food poisoning... it turned out they had the norwalk like virus, what we lovingly refer to as GI. It spreads quickly. So all day Wednesday, people were upset about missing a day in Maui or upset about being sick. We had to majorly change the sailing schedule, people were upset about that. Added to those two major problems were a HOST of other small problems... crew being sick and therefore rooms did not get cleaned, the computer system for billing was totally screwed up, the toilet system got clogged a couple times, no one got their correct luggage tags or bill at the end. Today was a nightmare when they were all trying to leave the ship. Add to all that the rumors floating around, the people accusing us of lying to them because "that's not was MSNBC said!" and you've got a real treat. It's been exciting.

I'm glad this cruise is over.

I did meet some very nice people, and one Welsh lady gave me a $20 tip. People seem to like it when you do what you say you will do. :)

I also have stayed way past my bedtime every night this week, so I'm really tired. And I've had to work at 6 these past two mornings, so after I get my 3300 words in for the day, a nap may be in order. That is, if I can finish my words before I have to be back at work in two hours to finish up my eleven hour day....at least we'll just have easy new passenger questions tonight, though.

I was supposed to go out on Honolulu with my friend David from Germany, but they won't let us get off the ship until the ENTIRE thing has been disinfected. Oh well, I need to work on my novel anyway.

Here's a crappily written article that's semi true if you want to read it.

Here, I found a better one. Read this one instead.

  • I love Hawaii!!
The first few days were COMPLETELY overwhelming, but I am finally settling in and meeting people. And I only got lost twice today! I don't walk down the hallways thinking that I am out of my mind anymore. :) Keep praying for me, I need it! I like my job so far and the people in it, and I actually got to work today, with customers and everything. It was a lot of fun. We are headed to Kona right now and the ship is rocking a lot because of the winds (which cause waves). We are rocking so much that sometimes you lose your balance when walking... it's kind of fun. VERY relaxing for sleeping. I miss you guys, you should all come out here!!
Here's my house! I took this yesterday in Kahului on Maui. :)

  • So much for my resolution to post everyday.

My life is just not that exciting right now! It doesn't merit a post everyday.

Yesterday I went with my dad to set out deer corn (which I think is wrong) and a herd of cows followed us around, thinking the corn was for them and they definitely were eating it all before we got out of there! Ha!

I adopted a new cat for my parents. He's cute and cuddly. Mostly he's whiny, skinny, loud, and always wanting attention and food... so I named him John. I was afraid I killed him yesterday, but I didn't.

I've been playing Flyff... Fly For Fun... kind of a dumb title, but it's a really fun game...one o' those rpg things, I'm not sure the exact initials, but tons of people are running around with you and you can talk to them and stuff. John (not the cat) and I play together and form parties and kill things. Instead of having to type everything, we just get on skype and talk to each other. We are in the process of getting jobs. I don't think it would be as fun to play with people I don't know. You guys should all download it, and we could make a big ol' guild and have wars and stuff! (Screaming at the top of your lungs is for people with blond hair....something something... if you wanna join my guil-duh!... doesn't it remind you of that?)

Anyway, the BEST news is that I just now checked my MMD status and it says APPROVED TO BE PRINTED!!!!!!! That's the real reason for this post. It means I'm one step closer to Hawaii!! I could be in Hawaii by next weekend, but I don't wanna count on that, seeing as everything takes longer than I think it will. Keep praying for me!!!

Oh, I forgot some stuff. I got to go visit my people in Waxahachie. That was a lot of fun!! I found a lot of letterboxes on the way! I saw 3:10 to Yuma with my friend Michael... it's a really good movie, you should go see it. I played Dutch Blitz with my friends Tasha and Brian and I played in the McD's playplace with my friend Kyler!! He's so darn cute!! So is Melissa, but she's not as fun yet. :) Okay, I think that's really all.

Here is some media for your enjoyment.
