  • Thankful Thursday, #1

Thank you to Bridget for this awesome idea :D

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others."
    Cicero

    I'm thankful for:

    1) Tim's friendship & listening ear (and bear hugs)

    2) A field outside our front door to walk in every morning, with a great view of the sunrise.

    3) Coming to realize that the harder it is to fight a battle, the sweeter the ultimate victory.

    4) God's patience with my frailty.

    5) Close friends.

    6) Someday, heaven :D

It's strange getting used to xanga again. And only having a very limited amount of time makes it even more fun lol.

If you want to see a really great movie, try Elizabethtown. It's got Orlando Bloom & Kirsten Dunst. It's nostalgic and funny and cute and uplifting and sad all at the same time.  :D

Random thought: have you even noticed how differently you think now compared to when you were a little kid? That's been on my mind the past few days. I'll have to post about it more.

Well, off to Carrie's garage sale :D and to get a sweet surprise for my honey. (not at the garage sale)  (...probably) lol.  Have a great w/end everyone!

p.s.  next time, maybe photos! if i can figure out how to get them from picasa to xanga :P

    love & hugs, CF

  • Hello From The Great Beyond!!

Hi there everybody, I'm still alive! :O

Living the married life, loving my hubby and my new job, having tons of fun renovating our old house into something nice. I wish that i had xanga access at work, but it's blocked. Facebook is not, however. I don't know if the admin. knows it exists. Or, it could be allowed since the college is right across the street from the office :D FB is blocked at the library, where i can use Xanga. Guess the higher-ups can't figure out which one is more 'dangerous' heh heh.

Well, i should run; have to get home and take the laundry off the line, and bake some bread... mmmmm.

I think i'll go explore the audiobook aisle. Audiobooks are keeping me from starving for literature :D No time to read :P I'm almost done with Escape by Caroline Jessup. I have NEVER known anyone with more courage! Her story is so inspiring. Link: http://mobilepassages.wordpress.com/2008/03/10/escape-by-carolyn-jessup/

The book is heartbreaking too; it gave me a roaring headache on some of the more graphic chapters. But the ending is worth all of that. She was so brave!

    Til next time,

    CF :D

  • Come Away With Me

    Lyrics to the video

Come away with me in the night
    Come away with me
And I will sing you a song

Come away with me on a bus
Come away with me where they can't tempt us
    With their lies

I want to walk with you
    On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows
    knee high
So won't you try to come

Come away with me and we'll kiss
    On a mountain top
    Come away with me
And I'll never stop loving you

And I want to wake up with the rain
    Falling on a tin roof
While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
    Come away with me

  • Entertainment

All right, just for fun, here are some websites i'm browsing tonight before i go home and make lasagna for me and my sweetie :)

(oh the serendipity of magazine articles)

    Play-Doh perfume!! lol

Demeter has bottled that fresh, just-out-of-the-can, “eau de PLAY-DOH” aroma as part of a year-long celebration of the beloved modeling compound’s 50th birthday. The 1-ounce, spray bottle fragrance is meant for ‘highly-creative people, who seek a whimsical scent reminiscent of their childhood.’

“One of PLAY-DOH compound’s most notable characteristics is its scent,” said Leigh Anne Cappello, vice president of marketing for the PLAY-DOH brand. “When you open a can of PLAY-DOH compound, you are instantly transported back to childhood. What better way to celebrate the 50th birthday than by bottling the scent for adults everywhere to enjoy as a reminder of their youth.”

PLAY-DOH® brand modeling compound was invented in 1956 at Rainbow Crafts, a Cincinnati-based cleaning company. Scientists there were trying to develop wallpaper cleaner when they discovered the now iconic children’s toy. Realizing the compound’s play potential, the company introduced it at the American International Toy Fair in New York City in 1956. PLAY-DOH compound was first available only in one color and size, an off-white, 1.5 pound can. Now, a half a century later, kids can explore their imaginations and express their creativity with up to 50 colors. The formula for PLAY-DOH compound still remains a closely-guarded secret to this day.

    Japander.com
This site shows celebs doing Japanese commercials for off-the-wall stuff (like things you'd see in the dollar store) lol so much for dignity.

    Thymes.com
This beautiful site is for home/body products in natural scents. You can get a whole array, all in your favorite fragrance!! so cool.

"I advocate glamour. Every day. Every minute."  Quote from a book i'd like to read

$50 seems just a tad a bit steep for this hair/nail supplement from Sephora
I think i'll just try to find the same ingredients in other things:
Super nutrients like carotene, wheat germ oil, and brewer's yeast nourish, protect, and help maintain healthy hair and build strong nails.

on Boscia.net you can shop by skin type!!

yeehaw! Free internet exercise videos! TOTALLY wish i had internet at home

This show would be fun! What Not to Wear Wedding Special
    hahaha!
Well I have to run! Have fun ya'll!

  • 2008

    It's a brand new year!

I'm so excited about this year, looking forward to new experiences... It seems like life just keeps getting better! And I don't mean that in a positive-thinking way... it really does get better, the more i learn to be Real.

    Thoughts for the New Year:

    * Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
    * Memorize your favorite poem.
    * Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
    * When you say, "I love you", mean it.
    * When you say, "I'm sorry", look the person in the eye.
    * Never laugh at anyone's dreams.
    * Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
    * Talk slow, but think quick.
    * Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
    * Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
    * When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
    * Trust in God but lock your car.
    * Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
    * Smile when picking up the phone.
    * Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
    * Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
    * Read between the lines.
    * Be gentle with the earth.
    * Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
    * Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes the blessing.
    * Remember that the best relationship is one where your love for each other is greater than your need for each other.
    * Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
    * Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
    --- And most importantly -----
    * Pray. There's immeasurable power in it.

  • Heart Property

from behind these walls I hear your song, oh sweet words
the music that you play lights up my world
    the sweetest that I've heard
could it be that I've been touched and turned, oh lord please
    finally, finally things are changing

this land is mine but I'll let you rule
I'll let you navigate and demand
just as long as you know, this land is mine
so find your home and settle in
oh I'm ready to let you in
just as long as we know, this land is mine

after all the battles and wards, the scars and loss
I am still the queen of my domain
    and feeling stronger now
the walls are down a little more each day, since you came
    finally, finally things are changing

this land is mine but I'll let you rule
I'll let you navigate and demand
just as long as you know, this land is mine
so find your home and settle in
oh I'm ready to let you in
just as long as we know, this land is mine

for all the days I've travelled alone
in this cold and colourless place till now
it's what I had to pay

this land is mine but I'll let you rule
I'll let you navigate and demand
just as long as you know, this land is mine
so find your home and settle in
oh I'm ready to let you in
just as long as we know, this land is mine
