| Hello!!! Welcome---Grab a cup of Coffee and sit a spell! Well I finished the Flower girl dress
Sandra took pictures for me, Thanks a bunch...., so now I can show it to you. The color didn't show up quite as well as it should in the picture...but here it is anyway. I still have to make the ring bearer's pillow, and decorate the Flower girl basket... And for those of you that asked --who was getting married.......the answer is my oldest grand-daughter--- Tasha Brooke,......she is getting married to Chad Aug. 16th in Texas. Isn't she beautiful....she is a ham....
This was taken recently at her wedding shower
This is Tasha and Kimmie, her maid of honor
She is excited
The happy couple
The Ring
What a pair
How cute
They are really quite sweet together...
They look so happy...
So I am going to go to the wedding. I have been sewing for a couple of months, saving my money for the trip. I still have to find a dress for myself to wear to the wedding...or perhaps make one...not sure. I think I will go try some on and see what I can find...and if I don't find any that I like...then I will make it...but I do pray that I will find something I like for the amount that I have to spend on it. We are having severe thunderstorms going on right now. I do love thunderstorms, as long as they don't get violent...I do end up pray the 91 Psalm a lot... Today my husband and I went out looking at Outdoor Grills. We went to K-mart, Wal-mart, Shopko, Farm n Fleet, Target, Mennards and Home Depot. He hasn't totally made a decision yet...but the two best ones that we found were at Menards, and K-mart....The one at K-mart has the burner on the side for regular cooking....like if you wanted to cook corn on the cob in a pan...you could do that...or you could cook anything in a pan on it....and then it has the reg. grill with two burners and a warming rack....then the one at Menards had no side burner...and is $30 cheaper....it has all the other bells and whistles though...and it was very nice....so we just really have to decide, how much we would actually use the side burner....our kitchen is just right inside the patio door and a hop skip and a jump away from the grill so I am not sure we actually need that or would use it that much....so to pay $30 extra for something we might not use that much....seems a little foolish...but it is up to him...whichever one he wants...
Well I haven't totally decided what I want to do next...but in the meantime, while I ponder...here is my latest devotion....I picked apart the 23rd Psalm with the Strong's concordance, and this is what I came up with....Hope someone enjoys it... THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD---PSALMS 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. When I allow the Lord to be my shepherd, I let him take the reigns of my life and let him be my ruler. He wants to be my friend, He wants to take care of me, but I have the ability to hinder that friendship, that caring for me if I don’t let him have the rule and reign in my life. If I give him the rule, I have no lack in my life. He makes me lie down in green pastures, and he leads me beside the still waters. He give me rest in the green pastures, where there is fresh green grass and tender herbs, a place of nourishment. A pleasant and peaceful place, a place to call my home. He leads me there and he protects and sustains me all along the way. He leads me to the still waters. A place of peacefulness, quiet and refreshment. He satisfies my thirst and makes me comfortable. He fulfills me. He restores my soul. He rescues me and brings me back home again. He renews my mind, my will and my emotions. He makes me whole again. He breathes the breath of life into me….His life…the Zoe, God kind of life. He leads me in the paths of righteousness. An ordained path, a circular track, that he has set up in advance for my life. If I stray he leads me back to the right path when I give him back the reigns and let him be the leader. Two people can’t drive….it is one or the other. When I let him drive, we get to the right place at the right time. When I try to do the driving, I run amuk. He does all of this as a memorial and an honor because his ways are right. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death---I will fear no evil. Why? Because I am walking through the valley, not planning on pitching my tent there. It refers to this place as a valley because it is a low spot with high cliffs on every side. You feel trapped but the only way out is to look up. If you don’t look up, all you see is the low spot—you will never see the way out. Why should we be afraid of evil in the shadow of death. A shadow happens when light is cut off from a surface. It forms a shadow, it isn’t real, it is an illusion. Put the object back in the light and the shadow disappears. We are to fear no evil in times of trouble, adversity or when a calamity appears. All that has happened is that you have gotten out of the light. So step back into the light and do not fear the evil. God knows where I am, and if I give him back the reigns he will pull me back into the safe place. While he is doing this, don’t be afraid. He is with you and he knows where he is taking you. He will lead me out with the rod of correction, (his Word). He has his staff to comfort me. He touches me with his staff, so that I can know he is leading me. He has the ability to keep me on the right path, if I am willing to let him do it. This involves trust. Do you trust him with your life. Do you trust that he will lead you on the peaceful path? He is there to console me when I feel down and ease any pain that I might have. He has even set in order and prepared a table, a meal, a place of nourishment in the face of my enemies, during the course of any trouble or distress along the way. He brings abundance and satisfies me. He makes me the head and not the tail. My cup, my portion it is a constant overflow of good things. Joy, goodness, kindness, beauty, pleasantness, favor, mercy and grace are all running after me and following me. They are hunting me down and in hot pursuit of me all the days of my life. I will dwell in (sit down, with no intention of moving from the house of the Lord---a Palace, a family place, my home ) All the days of my life….forever and ever…… This all happens WHEN I MAKE THE LORD MY SHEPHERD---my guide, my protector, my friend….the one who forever has the reigns and takes care of me…. I have never understood why the 23rd Psalm gets preached at funerals. It has nothing really to do with death. It has everything to do with life. Life God’s way. It is a picture of how we should walk day by day…allowing him to lead, to drive, and not a picture of death at all.
| Good Morning !!! Good Morning!!!
Well here I am once again... ..sorry it has been so long....boy has this summer been busy already.....where does the time go??? I found out the other day, that the city fireworks are going to be shot off just a few blocks from where we live, so we will be able to see them from our yard. I think Sandra and Mark are coming over here to watch them...and I assume the kids might come too...that will be fun. Always nice to have someone to share things with..
Our Freedom Fest at church last Friday was great....we had a ton of people there....Don and I drove the little golf cart taxi's back and forth to the parking lot. That was a lot of fun. Get to meet lots of nice people. The little kids loved to just get on and ride around with us....It was a big success. the fireworks were spectacular this year. Kirk gets a little better each year....thanks Kirk...You are great.!
I can't believe the 4th is almost here....wow this year is going by really fast...especially the summer....and I still have so many things left that I wanted to get done this summer... I still want to refinish some things, and work on my oil painting. Oh my.....!!!!! I have had a couple of more sewing customers this week. I am now saving my money so I can buy a new dress to wear to the wedding. I hope I can find what is roaming around in my brain.....I would like to find something in Pink Blush....it is a very pale subtle pink...and I want a vintage look....with some antique lace on it....I suppose if worse comes to worse and I cannot find anything close to what I see in my brain I could make the dress. But if I am going to do that, I really need to get out and get looking now, so I still have time to make it, if need be. I was hoping to just walk into a store, and see it right there, it fits perfectly and the price is within my budget....is that too much to ask...??? haha...I hope not.. Well I am going to try to finish up this last 3 pages of the Job Story today. I hope some of you have enjoyed it. I know Linda liked it...so if it was only for one person, then it was worth it all.... Job: A Mini-Story of Redemption 9. Greater Prayer Power: Finally, consider the greater prayer power available to us as New Testament believers, that was not available to Job. Job repeatedly expressed difficulty in getting through to God. He felt helpless in prayer. He didn't know how to pray. But the New Testament believer has a level of prayer available to him in such times of crisis that always gets through, and is always on the target of God's will! That level of prayer is praying in the Spirit, or praying in tongues. "Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered" (Romns 8:26). When I am in a crisis, and I don't know how to pray, I just turn my praying over to the Holy Spirit and start praying in a language that I don't understand; and many times it is sheer "groainings which cannot be uttered." I simply do what the apostle Paul did: "For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also...." (ICorinthians 14:14-15). The results are absolutely astounding when I pray in an unknown tongue. I know that my praying is effective and right on. How could it be otherwise? It's the Holy Spirit that gives me the utterance, and I'm not going to pray amiss, or out of the will of God as I pray in the spirit. This beautiful gift of the Holy Spirit was not available in Old Testament times. It didn't become available to us until the day of Pentecost. (ACTS 2: 1-4) and it is available even today. The apostle Paul said; "I would that you all speak with tongues...." (I Corinthians 14:5). No wonder the devil has fought tongues so had through the ages. He doesn't want any believer to use such a powerful and successful method of prayer, for it places him at a disadvantage. You'ld fight it too, if you felt yourself at a disadvantage, wouldn't you? Well, praise the Lord for the ability to pray with unknown tongues. I'll tell you, I'm going to use ever tool I can get my hands on, to be successful in this life, and effective in the kingdom of God. I'm not going to ignore any one of them, and neither are you, praise God! We usually think of Job as being "poor ol' Job," because of all the troubles he had. But there is another reason he was "Poor ol' Job" and that was because he, through no fault of his own, was lacking; simply because he happened to live in the Old Testament dispensation of time. You and I don't need to be "Poor ol' Jobs", for we are living in the New Testament dispensation, and the spiritual tools that have been given to us are more than sufficient in overcoming the enemy and giving us the victory. As New Testament believers, there really is no way that we can fully identify with Job. We are not poor when it comes to spiritual weapons. We may not know how to use what is given to us, but that is a different problem. We may not have had any experience in using the name of Jesus and experiencing a resulting healing, or we may not know how to use the shield of faith, or we may no be able to pray with unknown tongues, (or even want to, for that matter), but all of that can be taken care of with good Bible instruction and training. But that does not alter the fact that you and I do have a lot more going for us than Job did. Therefore we can be more successful in the times of trial and testing than Job was. Let's get on with our training and growth in the ability to use all that God has given us. And let's stop comparing our "sorrowful situations" with Job's. RATHER--- Consider the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD, AND JESUS, OUR MEDIATOR. Consider the SHED BLOOD OF JESUS, AND THE WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY. Consider the NAME OF JESUS, AND THE LAYING ON OF HANDS. Consider THE SHIELD OF FAITH, AND THE REVELATION THAT GOD IS OUR FATHER. Consider THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT and our NEW PRAYER POWER. Get these things in your spirit, and USE YOUR TOOLS! You don't have to be like Job. Oh Hallelujah! As the Lord said to me, "The book of Job is not a story of suffering and how I want my people to suffer for my glory. The Book of Job is a mini-story of redemption. A story of how my people need my redemption on a continual basis and how they can come to me through Christ Jesus and receive my redemption from their difficulties and problems any time they need it....." My Comments to sum it all up: The word says my people perish because of a lack of knowledge.....it also says to "be ye doers of the word, not hearers only, lest you deceive your ownselves"..... So you perish without the knowledge, but you can also perish if you don't put the knowledge that you have to work for you. I hope this has been of benefit to someone. Thanks for all your comments Linda... Now I have to find out what I want to do next..... Anyone have any thing they want to study??? I am open to ideas....leave me a comment... Have a great day...and God bless you one and all...
| Wow it's MONDAY.....all day....!!!!!Happy Monday!!! Well the week-end certainly sort of whizzzzed by. Friday night was card class....we had a great time. I got to do two of my cards, and Debbie did two and Melissa did one. It was nice that Kim got to play this time. We always have such a nice time at card class. Saturday morning was our monthly Ladies Breakfast out. Not too many came this time. Kim picked me up and we went together....so time spent with Kim is always fun for me...I don't think I like this restaurant all that well, but it is always nice to get out and fellowship.... Sunday was church....we had some guest singers.....not exactly my cup of tea....but hey everyone has different taste in things I suppose. I am so hungry for some really good praise and worship. Being from the south for so long and also from California, where praise is so really really HIGH PRAISE AND WORSHIP, I think I was a little bit spoiled on that...and it is really really hard to go back to medi-ocre praise .....once you have tasted the better, it is hard to go back. So I am missing that really bad in the northern world....I just keep praying .... JOB...THE MINI-STORY OF REDEMPTION: 8. The babtism of the Holy Spirit: This leads us to the next thing that I want to consider, in giving us a greater advantage than Job had. We have the Holy Spirit within us. Job knew nothing about the Holy Spirit. Let's go back to the Luke 11:13 Scripture passage: "If you then, being evil (earthy), know how to give good gifts unto your children how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" Our loving Father has given us the Holy Spirit. And for what purpose? For power, "But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you...." Acts 1:8.....This experience is referred to by Jesus in Acts 1:5, as being "baptized with the Holy Spirit." LB Jesus himself had such an experience; "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power...." and for what purpose? "who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him" Acts 10:38. The baptism with the Holy Spirit is a New Testament experience. It was not available to Job or any other Old Testament saint. BUT IT IS AVAILABLE TO ANY BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN WHO DESIRES IT, AND ASKS FOR IT. See Luke 11:13. The resulting power is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. And it gives life to your mortal bodies, by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. See Romans 8:11. Your mortal body is the body you are walking around in right now.... Job had to cope with the enemy's onslaught in his own natural power, and he was no match for the devil. We have the God given ability and power to deal with the enemy successfully and victoriously, because" greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4 I have the greater one inside of me. And with that knowledge, I am at a decided advantage over Job when the devil tries to come and try and test me....Hallelujah! My Comments for the Day!! I suppose the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is one of those experiences that gets a great deal of contorversy from a lot of different denominations....but I can tell you of my experience and let you be the judge... I was raise Baptist....I was saved when I was 9 years old....went to the Baptist church for a good number of years as well as a Presbyterian church when I was a child. I was weak in my walk, simple because I had not had received any really meaty teaching. I learned all the children's usual bible stories, when to VBS all the time...I had tithing down pat, knew I needed to pray before I took communion, but didn't really know why....but really I knew very little about the meaty part of the Word....I just didn't know...The word says my people perish because of a lack of Knowledge....well that happened to me....I didn't know much...then at age 39, 30 years after I had gotten saved as a child....I heard about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, began studying and seaching it out for myself...read books, researched in the bible about it....and finally one night all by myself....I ask the Lord....I want that ....and you know what..he gave it to me....just that simple. I received my personal prayer language, speaking in tongues, and then I went to bed, praying in the spirit....so excited....and then when I woke up in the morning, I wonder if I could do that again....so I opened my mouth, and out it came again....I was so jazzed...so excited....and life has never been the same again....Right after that I got into some really good teaching....and I will forever be grateful to Kenneth Copeland for teaching me how to study the Word of God for myself...and grateful to God for baptizing me in the Holy Spirit, and giving me the power to understand the word....which before that time, I had not really been able to understand what I read in the bible....I was not hungry for it before that time....so I just want all of you baptists and other denominations out there that don't believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, for whatever reason has been taught to you....that it is a real thing, and it is a separate thing from salvation...and it is for today...it hasn't passed away, and it isn't of the devil.....I had a Baptist preacher preach to me one time, that speaking in tongues was of the devil..what a lie...from the pit of hell.... Ideally you would get saved, get baptised in water, come up out of the water, speaking in tongues, having been baptized in the Holy Spirit during the process....however that doesn't always happen because people don't really teach it accurately...my strong suggestion is to study the book of Acts...then read the book of Mark....and then ask God to Baptize you in the Holy Spirit....God is a gentleman....he isn't going to force it on you...but he is ever faithful to give it to you if you ask for it... One other thing...some people miss the speaking in tongues....because of intimidation....fear....it has been my experience that you need to open your mouth, stick you feet in the water so to speak, and do something with your tongue...such as la la la....and let God take it from there....he isn't going to force it on you...but you have to be willing to receive... | | |
| TGIF....BOY WHERE DID THE WEEK GO....???Good Morning! Wow this week surely went by fast. Yea tonite is our Card/Stamping Class. The highlight of my month....Can't wait. Tonite is going to be a tad different than usual. I decided that we should give Kim our teacher a little break, and let her have a night to play. So I organized with a couple of other ladies in our class during the month so that the 3 of us, could make up some new cards, and do the demonstration, so that Kim could just relax and enjoy it for a change. So I made 3 cards. Debbie is making 2 and Melissa is doing 1. So it should be different....but fun I am sure. My cards are a tad more on the complicated side, at least two of them are. Hope everyone isn't intimidated by them. Actually they are not hard, just a little more involved. I wanted to teach them how to get out of the box, and use their imagination, and make their own card embellishments. So I am hoping they enjoy them. I have a whole new appreciation for how much time and work goes into putting this class together. I am sure Kim is way faster at putting all this together than I am, but I am here to tell you, this took some time and thought...it surely isn't a no-brainer....so THANK YOU TO KIM....KUDOS...++++++++++ Thanks for all the time and imagination and energy you give us every month. I for one so totally appreciate it. Wed. Sandra and I went to a rummage sale and it was a Stampin Up dealer....she had tons of retired stamp sets for 40% off...and she said by Saturday if there were any left she would perhaps be willing to dicker a bit....so we are thinking of going back there to see if she has any that we might want for cheap.... Has to be cheap or we can't afford it...haha... I did find one the other day....it is so cute...it is a set of Flamingos...so cute, and so different....I saw at least 3 other ones I wanted, but didn't have any more money to spend on them. I did find 2 wheels for $2 and $1.... So that is about all of my news for the day. Still praying for more sewing customers...or even orders to make cards...Would like to earn a tad more money for the wedding. Job The Mini-story of Redemption 5. Laying on of hands: Job didn't know about laying hands on the sick. He was an Old Testament saint; and unfortunately, most New Testament saints don't know anything about laying on of hands either. Neither do they know how to effectively use the name of Jesus in overcoming satan, and all the junk of sickness, disease, and poverty, that he throws at Christians. In effect and practice, most Christians are like "poor ol' Job." They are acting like they are living in he Old Testament dispensation. And as a result, satan is having a heyday in their lives. This shouldn't be. No! No! NO! Absolutely NO!!! We have Jesus, our mediator and redeemer; His shed blood; and His powerful name. None of which was available to Job. What more do we need to win this battle? 6. The shield of faith: On top of all this, God has given us the "shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (one)" (Ephesians 6:16). His dart of pain gets quenched when it hits the shield of faith. The dart of poverty gets quenched when it hits the shield of faith. Job didn't know about the shield of faith to quench all of those stupid darts that satan was throwing at him. YOU AND I DO! Don't let those darts hit you. Keep the shield of faith up high. 7. We know God as our "Father:" Consider the revelation by Jesus that God is our Father, and we are His children: members of the family of God. Job knew nothing about God, as a Father. Most of the Old Testament characters knew little of the Father God. When Jesus claimed that God was His very own Father, the religious leaders of His day were startled and upset. They called such claims "blasphemy," and for his very reason, crucified Him. Jesus was the first to call God, "Father." Jesus came to reveal the fatherhood of God. He showed us a Father who loved His children, and only wantd the best for them---even when they rebelled. Jesus told the parable of a certain man who had two sons, and one of those sons rebelled and went away from home to live a sinful, and wayward life. When the son came to his senses, he returned to his father. His father didn't scold him or beat him. He didn't punish him or put condemning words on him, and tell him how stupid he was. Rather, he loved him and welcomed the son back home, and gave him the same privileges that he had before he rebelled. (See Luke 15:). Our Father gives good gifts to His children: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights...."(James 1:17). In LUke 11:10-13, Jesus shows us a father who gives us what we ask for, and doesn't send something evil in its place. "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?" The obvious answer is, "Of course Not!>" Then Jesus goes on to draw the conclusion, "If you then, being evil (earthly), know how to give good gifts unto your children" how much more shall your heavenly Father give...." Neither Job nor most of the Old Testament characters had any such concept of God, as a loving Father. And most Christians today are just as ignorant in their understanding of God. As far as they are concerned, if God wants to kill off their children in a tornado, "Then so be it." Or if God decided to cover their bodies with boils, "Well just bear with it the best you can. Learn as much as you can from it, because God is trying to draw you closer to Himself through such tragedies." What kind of a Father is that? Why, if any earthly father purposedfully planned and carried out a plan of sickness and tragedy for his children such as that, society would throw him in jail, regardless of how noble the end result he was trying to accomplish. "The end does not justify the means," whether amongst men or God. The New Testament believer has the Fatherhood of God going for him. We are His children. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" (Romans 8:14). That's me, and that's you! Job and all the Old Testament folks were servants: they weren't sons. God was their Master--but not their Father. Not so for us New Testament folks; "Now we are no longer slaves, but God's own sons. And since we are His sons, everything He has belongs to us, for that is the way God planned"(Galatians 4:7, LB. A whole new relationship between God and man was established through Christ's death upon the cross, and as a result, you and I have a lot more going for us than Job had going for himself....Praise the Lord! To Be Continued..... We love our children, God loves his....why do we have such trouble realizing that. Why do we think God is out to do us in. That God puts sickness and disease on us,....that he kills off our children to make us get in line....if we did that, we would be arrested for murder...and did you ever stop the think that our children are HIS children too....he loves them more than we do. God is not a thief, a murderer or a liar.... satan is the thief...he came to steal, kill and destroy....why do we have such a hard time realizing who the enemy is. We blame God for things that satan did.?????? WHY????? GOD IS GOOD GOD...ALL THE TIME... Have a great weekend... | | |
| Good Morning!!! Good Morning!!
Well I got my sewing and craft areas clean again, now I can start on other projects. I am helping teach our card class next week, to give Kim a little fun and a well deserved break.. .so I have to get all my cards made up and ready to go for that. I got one of them all cut out yesterday... .so now I have 2 more to do. Two other girls are each doing a card project as well...so it should be fun. Thank you Kim so much for all your work.. ..wow after cutting out my card yesterday I truly realized how much time you spend on this each month, and truly appreciate all your time and work... Tomorrow I am having a Mary Kay facial. Kim is coming too....so that will be fun. Always love hanging out with Kim. We get to be pampered, and get entered in a contest to win a day at the spa.... Today I have to go do some shopping for Father's day, and also pick up a gift to send to my MOm for her birthday on the 22nd...need to not wait to the last minute to get that in the mail. I think I will take my husband out to breakfast on Sunday before church for Father's day....he likes going to breakfast, and we discovered this restaurant in town that is pretty nice, and they are very reasonably priced....so we are going to give it a try... I got a couple of steaks to cook out for him later in the evening...he likes that...Maybe I will make him a pie too...it has been a while... Not much else going on around here.... Job...the mini-story of redemption: 2. Jesus, our mediator: Next, consider Jesus. Jesus is our mediator. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5) Job cried out for a mediator, one to stand between himself and God; but all he could do was to look forward to His coming some day (See Job 19:23). We have a mediator: He's come! And He is Jesus! "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not, And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" (1 John 2:1) 3. The shed blood of Jesus, and the word of our testimony: We have the shed blood of Jesus, through which our redemption and forgiveness take place. "IN whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins" (Colossians 1:14). "...And without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin and its guilt nor the remission of the due and merited punishment for sins" (Hebrews 9:22,Amp.) There is a song that we all love to sing: "There is power, power, wonder working power, in the precious blood of the Lamb." How true that is; not only in bringing about our salvation, but also in nullifying the power of satan over our lives...."....Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they (that's us) overcame him (that's satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony...." (Revelation 12: 10-11). Jesus hadn't shed His blood upon Calvary yet, and Job didn't have the blood of Jesus to protect him from the onslaughts of satan. BUT WE DO! As New Testament believers, we can use the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony to keep satan in defeat. 4. The name of Jesus: Another thing that New Testament believers have that Job didn't have, is the use of the name of Jesus. We have the power of attorney, so to speak, to use the all-powerful name of Jesus. "...and whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do...If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it: (John 14: 13-14). "....Verily, verily (truly) I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have you asked nothing in my name: ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be full" John 16:23-24...Now that's powerful. The name of Jesus is to be used in situations fo sickness, for in His great commission to the church He said: "....Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature....And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name...they shall lay hands on the sick....and they shall recover....Mark 16:15-18... My comments for the day: I love that passage in Mark...it says more than that...: And he said unto them, GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE. hE THAT BELIEVETH AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED; BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT SHALL BE DAMNED. AND THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE: IN MY NAME SHALL THEY CAST OUT DEMONS; THEY SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES; THEY SHALL TAKE UP SERPENTS AND IF THEY DRINK ANY DEADLY THING, IT SHALL NOT HURT THEM; THEY SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY SHALL RECOVER. That is the scripture I was reading the night I got baptized in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues.... At the beginning of that it says....Go ye into all the world.....the literaly meaning of that is AS YOU GO INTO ALL THE WORLD....takes on a new meaning...it actually means not go take a trip around the world and preach....but as you go about your daily life, let your life and your actions as well as what you say preach the good news of Jesus....our lives should so portray Jesus, that people see Jesus in us, whether we speak or not....people have to like what they see or they don't want what you have. If your life as a Christian isn't any different from Joe Blow down the street that is doing all sorts of ugly things, why should anyone want what you have. Your life and mine should be so peaceful and joyful that people wonder, how do you stay so peaceful through every situation in life. How can you be so calm in the midst of the messes of life. We should be so joyful that people wonder how did you get that way...our lives are supposed to make people want what we have....not in a coveting way...but they need to want to know why we are at peace and why we remain joyful and uneffected by the economy of the world....we are not on the worlds system....we are on God's economy....and our Daddy owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and he said ask... My prayer for each and everyone reading this today is that you will KNOW Jesus....in a more intimate way....that the Love of Jesus will go deep inside you...and that your life will never be the same again....ONE WORD FROM GOD CAN CHANGE YOU LIFE FOREVER. I pray that you will hear that one word today...that HE will draw you close....closer than you have ever been....that something new will happen in your life....that it will be life-changing... God Bless you one and all!
